gaming Civilisation 3... Help!

~Chaotic Eddie~

Recommended Posts

So, recently I managed to pick up a copy of Civilisation 3: Complete Edition. I have heard that the Civilisation games are very good, so naturally I had high hopes. But when I got into the game, I found that there was one major problem: The game has no tutorial mode.

Now, as someone who has never played Civilisation before, I had no idea what was going on and was thoroughly confused. My copy of the game was a budget-range version (SoldOut Software), and as such it didn't come with a manual, so I couldn't get any help that way.

So in essence, I need someone who knows how to play Civilisation to basically teach me how to play, preferably over Skype. So if there is anyone out there who'd like to help me, please don't hesitate to say so, and I'll send you my Skype name so we can get started.

Thank you very much for your time.

Sadly i have never played Civ III.. Skipped to IV and V eventually after playing II as a kid.

I looked around and apparently there is a manual for Civilization III complete on steam site. Hope it helps.

In all civ games i have played: early game you usually want to explore quite quickly as there are these huts around everywhere with random gifts and bonuses (or barbarian ambush forces..). These huts are a one time things, so you HAVE TO get them ASAP or risk enemy civilizations getting way more than you, leaving you behind in progress.

Also expanding, as in, getting more cities built is very important for obvious reasons. One city cannot produce enough to make it and if you start expanding too late, all land is already claimed by the AI.

Workers are important as well, as they build improvements on terrain near your cities. There is an auto-option for workers that i recommend, as i never wanted to figure out what improvements to build and where. The only real issue with is that your workers might not be smart enough to stay far enough from enemy units when they finally invade inside your borders.

I hope this helps you a bit unsure.png
