One of the bigger questions has finally been answered, how many seasons of doctor who will there be?

now before you go down into the comment section saying "as many as possible" hear me out. In the final episode of season seven of doctor who all the doctors show up to *spoilers* now one of the *spoilers* refers to the fact that all 13 doctors show up. but so far there has only been 11, see where I am going with this? another report said that in this episode all the doctors show up. So this means that there are two more guaranteed seasons, no more no less. Speculate away and thanks for reading.

Sincerely,

child of the night

Doctor Who is extremely profitable and popular, so it doesn't make sense to throw all that money and all those viewers out the window. Moffat was allowed to participate so it's clearly not a matter of respecting the series enough to give it a timely, dignified end rather than milk it.

Three possibilities:

1. 8th's regeneration into "The Warrior" (John Hurt) counted as a real regeneration, which means Hurt was 9th, Eccleston is 10th, Tennant is 11th and Smith is 12th. If that's the case, then Matt Smith's regeneration into Peter Capaldi used up the twelfth and last regeneration, which means Capaldi is the 13th and last Doctor, and the series ends with him.

2. The Warrior didn't count as a real regeneration, which means Capaldi is the 12th and we'll have one more Doctor after him before the series ends

3. BBC will try to milk the series as much as they can, which means the writers will find a way to cheat the "only 12 regenerations" rule and keep the series going.
