How to make pmvs and animation partner?

Yes!! I am trying to learn how to make basic amvs and pmvs. I want to add something to youtube and help others with different issues I deal with on a regular basis. I was wondering if anyone would like to help me animate videos or just tell me how to upload clips to Windows Live Movie Maker

Well to begin with, neither Animations or PMVs are something you just create in a couple of minutes without any experience. You need to learn how to use the programs to create such content.

 

Animation is something that requires a lot of knowledge and especially experience and it takes a long time to get good at. MLP is a cartoon which is created in the program Adobe Flash, there are a lot of tutorials on YouTube, just search for Flash Beginner Tutorial or something like that and you will find what you're looking for. You can download a trial version of Flash here. The program costs money and you can buy the full thing on their website. There's also free (but illegal) downloads on torrent sites such as TPB but linking those here are against the rules so that's something you'll have to look up for yourself. There are also other free programs that works just fine, but isn't as powerful such as PhotoMorph and Vectorian Giotto.

 

PMVs are created with video editing softwares as you probably know. And I'm sorry but if you want to create PMVs, Windows Movie Maker will get you nowhere. The two best programs to use is Adobe After Effects or Sony Vegas. Both of these costs money too but again, you can download trial versions. If you want to learn more, just do a search on youtube, for example, "after effects beginner tutorial" or "after effects pmv tutorial".

Like the person said above, while you CAN use Live Movie Maker, and I have, it has a tendency to degrade video quality.

 

I currently use Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 12, which is much cheaper than the full version, and you can buy earlier versions of Movie Studio that are cheaper still. There's free trials, too.

 

(However, I do not own After Effects. Dang, that's EXPENSIVE!)

 

A person by the name of Ponyship has some really nice uploads of the episodes, and PMV Today has great tutorials on making videos, not to mention being the best site out there to look at what's new and good in the PMV world. I wrote my own tutorial a while ago, although it's more geared to improving your videos stylistically than learning how to use software.
