Evil Discord or Reformed Discord

I personally think that Discord has no "evil" or "reformed" side. 

Here's why:

 

No matter how hard the ponies try, Discord will be Discord. He may appear "reformed", but keep in mind, that he always tries to pull off something behind the ponies' backs. He's a sneaky one, playing on the mind and emotions, rather than the physical being.

I actually really like the Reformed Discord. He's still as funny as he used to be and with him being reformed we will see him more.

First, I wanted to say I can't choose, because it's too early.

But now I say - current state. For simple reason.

Such as he was at first - he had got stoned right away.

And in current current state we sure see some more of him.

I like the "restrained" Discord.  Depending on his lifespan, having a mortal friend might just be an interesting experiment.

 

Reformation might take the form of "becoming someone that Luna would accept as a casual friend."  Which might mean learning the subtleties of tuning a harmless joke, knowing when to back off, and respecting the words "I don't have time for your shenanigans."

Ugh, I've said it before and I'll say it again, Discord is not truly evil or good. He's chaotic. You can't consider Discord a true "villain" because he never actually hurts anyone or intends to hurt them, at least not deliberately. Even when he tormented Equestria for ages, it was more of a prank than an actual oppression, a least in his mind, unlike with King Sombra.

 

Technically I think the show got it wrong. Discord was only reformed in the sense that he wouldn't use his magic for "trouble making" anymore, ie pranks and trolling. If anything he helped the Mane 6 and Celestia and Luna more than you'd think, uniting them, testing them and teaching them invaluable lessons. The Season 4 premier shows that he does exactly that. 

 

If Discord was truly evil and a villain you would know, like with The Joker. You can't define a character as complex as Discord with terms as black and white as good and evil. Discord's potentially that combined with a cosmic Ursa Major farting out white holes spewing out white hole supernovas that break the 4th walls and more.
