Why use dark/corrupted magic?

One thing that I noticed in the season 4 opener is when Twilight changed the liquid from Zecora, she used dark or corrupted magic to do so. Why?

I think there is a similar thread already, but the truth is we don't know what it means. She was told to use Alicorn magic, which may be be same thing as "dark magic" or something different or maybe the animators just re-used the dark magic effect.

yeah I think the Writers are assuming that we can tell the magic from that is Alicorn rather than dark, they should have used a different color or shading or something to make that stand out.

Yes and somebody made the point that Twilight's magic is now, by default, Alicorn magic.

It would have made sense if the vial of liquid was a curse/dark artefact that only works with dark magic like the black crystals that reveal doors with shadows but Zecora never says this.

The writers have a problem where they either forget continuity or forget to explain things more throughly, Twilight used Alicorn magic to change the color of the potion. As for dark magic, it would have to be shown to see if it is.
