(This is how I ease boredome)

Fg = GMm/r^2

where Fg = Force of gravity G = Gravitational Constant m = satellite mass M = parent body mass r = distance between their centers.

 

Fg/r = GMm-2r^-3 (Power Rule) 

 

therefore the derivative of the force due to gravity with respect to radius is -2GMm/r^3

 

 

don't hold it against me if my math is not 100% correct I'm only in Algebra II right now so all the calculus stuff I know I learned from books and videos in my spare time.

Perhaps if I had a couple of hours to spare and my, surprisingly talented, maths buddy then I might be able to figure out some of the more simple equations in this thread and apply it to a different set of values.

 

But, alas, I have neither. So I will simply sit here in muted wonder as my fatigue addled brain attempts to comprehend what is being said.
