Haters gonna hate is he laziest response known to man.  It's what you put out there when you don't want to discuss, you put out 40 lines or more of text so we can assume that rang hallow.

i thought fanfiiction was to ruin the show not the other way around?

But seriously the point of fanfiction is to express an idea not on the show. introduce something that writer feels that someone else will hopefully read any react to.

 

it's not suppose to be "called it!" or the reply option on u tube where some douche goes "First!"

we went over this mary sue thing and when ever i got close to winning the argument one person would shut up and someone else would take over.  Yes I do know what a mary sue is.

And discord is the only character who barely suffers any kind of conflict what so ever far more than candice.

and everyone likes him (including me)

it just bothers people they like a mary sue.  It's called cherry picking.  Should i list the definition for that?

I can understand twilicorn as I have said before but Derpy is one thing I have never been able to understand, I just don't like how most of the Derpy critics have claimed to speak on behalf of the disabled when they aren't even bothering to actually listen to all the disabled people who actually like Derpy and have yet to offer any suggestions for how Derpy could be considered less "offensive" while still being her. Ponyecho is so far to his credit the only Derpy critic I have ever spoken with that has offered any such suggestions which while I don't agree with all of them are at least a good start. For these reason I think that most Derpy critics are hating for the sake of hating and because of their complete and total lack of respect. I myself have Autism and while I am not mentally retarded the doctor who diagnosed me incorrectly diagnosed me as such and I have been called names like "stupid" and "retard" many many times in the past and I don't appreciate people trying to speak for me as they automatically know exactly what I am going to say without giving me a chance to actually speak and make up my own mind. People say they are "offended" but I think that in many cases people will take offense if they want to. I think this one youtube video I posted on the subject and I know I have posted it a lot really sums up my opinion on this matter better than I could do justice here.

I do agree. I do not find derpy offencive In any way, shape, fashion, or form. I love her just the way she is.

 

But as one who has been on the receiveing end of hate I can understand why. Most hate against Derpy isn't about Derpy... it is about themselves.

 

They see themselves in her and through her and they hate her because it reflects back at them.

 

The very name is a derogatory of one who is seen as stupid because she is different.

 

Unlike Pinky Pie, who antics are amusing whom people laugh with...she is the comic relief that people laugh at, and thus laughs at them.

 

They cannot see past the hurt they endure because they too are different and lash out because of its representation as a reflection of themselves.

 

I too see her as a reflection of myself. She is the one character that is the embodyment of never judge a book by its cover.

 

I see Derpy as an embracement of that difference within us all with unspoken words that shouts.

 

"Don't hate me because I am different... Love me for who I am.... and pass the muffins"

If that really is the case then can you explain why most of the complainers are not disabled people but simply butthurt parents and busy bodies who claim to speak for disabled people but actually have no idea what the hell they are even talking about?

Being different does not equal disabled.

 

Our world is filled with stereotypical norms and can range from an actual disability to simply having freckles in the wrong spot. It doesn't matter what the stereotype is, the hate stems from what the hater views as a weakness to exploit for whatever gain.

 

People also hate in defence of objects that are viewed as something that they feel that is directed at themselves. Again the difference does not have to a disibility or even reflect identically.

They only have to associate the perseption of that object physically or emotionally.

 

They see things such as Derpy as a tool being used against them and thus bearing hate for that object.
