Everypony was sitting in front of this huge stage. There was going to be a reading of the history of Itoshigo. The lights dimmed and everypony got quiet. The curtains opened to show Lunar Eclipse and Midnight Shine standing center stage. Lunar, of course, always looked so behaved and serious. Midnight was, as usual, standing next to her with her head slightly bowed. Lunar cleared her throat then began to talk, Midnight's timidness instantly getting replaced with the normal calm and coolness she always had during these kind of speeches.

 

"Discord reigned over Equestria for quite some time. After Luna and Celestia defeated him and turned him into stone, not much of the beautiful land was left. Luna and Celestia ruled from then on," Lunar explained.

 

"One day, Luna saw the struggles everypony was having trying to rebuild the great nation. She proposed a plan. She proposed that she take the little fillies and start a new colony, where everypony could grow up strong and happy." Midnight smiled at everypony.

 

"But Celestia forbade it. She felt that it would divide and shatter the weakened kingdom forever. However, Luna went ahead with her plan. She waited until the dead of night, then set out on her quest," Lunar boosted, smiling triumphantly.

 

Midnight smiled. "She awoke all of the orphanged fillies and used her magic to carry them to a new, undiscovered land. This land was then named 'Itoshigo' - 'Beloved Dear Child' in Japanese."

 

"Most ponies do not remember us, but we are still here... Smiling beneath the moonlight and remembering our dear mother..." Lunar sighed, looking at the crowd.

 

"Because we are her Children of the Night..." both Lunar and Midnight said, drawing and end to the history behind Itoshigo.

 

There was a long silence after that. Everypony was in awe every time they recited the history of Itoshigo.

 

"However, after all these years, Celestia still does not accept us. She wants us gone; wants up to turn into her little Equestria drones. We will not fall for her cheap tactics." Lunar look at everypony's faces.

 

"Our blessed mother Luna created this land for us and us alone. She doesn't have to give it up. And if those Equestrians want it so bad.... Well then they'll have to pry it from our cold, dead hands!" Midnight cried, raising her hoof as everypony cheered and applauded for them. They were going to win this war, no matter what!

 

Lunar got serious again. "Now I understand some of you want to go far here, but there are only a select few who will actually make it." She looked at the crowd. "Ma'am, it's time!" She hollered back to the curtains.

 

At that moment, Luna walked through the curtains, Grell and Stained Steel on either side of her, guarding her protectively. Midnight and Lunar both bowed and stepped out of the way so she could have center stage. Luna smiled and looked at the crowd. "We will be picking a select few of you for certain areas of this army. We have based it upon your abilities and your applications you have sent in."

 

Midnight grabbed a piece of paper from her bag on her back and timidly handed it to Grell, smiling a little. Grell then handed it to Luna. Luna looked at the paper. "When I call your name, come forth and I will assign you your positions." She began calling out names. "Equinox. Desdemona. Stormwing. Come forth."

Steel stood proud by Luna's side his face showing no emotion his daggers where out and ready as always when he was with Luna scanning the crowd him and grell had been warned of a hit on Luna bad that a assassin my be among them

Grell stood not as proud as steel he smiled at midnight before handing the paper to Luna grell scanned the crowds he to showed no emotion just like steel taught him

When Equinox heard his name we walked up to Princess Luna and bowed in respect. Equinox was a gray pony with two different colored eyes and a black and white mane, He wore a black coat and a katana strapped to his back. Equinox didn't bother raising his head till he was told to.

Lunar watched Equinox carefully. She had heard about the assassin too.

 

Midnight smiled at Equinox and bowed. She quickly got a glance of Grell. -He's so cute... I wonder what his name is...-

 

Luna looked at him. "You may rise." She looked at the papers again. -Now just wait for the other two...-

Stormwing was sitting in the audience, intently listening to the story. As he heard his name, he immediately hopped up and trotted forth as quickly as he could. He bowed his head respectfully. "I am present, ma'am." He had his mane neatly styled, in order to look as presentable as possible.

Luna smiled at him. "I see that. Now, Desdemona. Where are you?"

 

Lunar eyed Stormwing. -He's cute... Hey! Focus on the meeting! Stop getting distracted!-

 

Midnight walked over to a box sitting behind the curtains. She grabbed it with her teeth and hovered as she drug it over to Luna.

Stormwing sat silently, being polite. He was waiting for further instructions. At this point, he was about twenty. His mane sort of hung over one eye. He smiled at Lunar as she looked him over, giving her his most charming smile. "How are you this evening?"

Steel looked at the stallion "remain silent unless addressed " steel said never taking his eyes off the crowd

Grell seen the katana and focused his mind on the stallion with one wrong move and he'd be dead grell seen midnight sneak a peek at him during her he didnt pay attention to it though he was Luna's dark knight and as such had no time to worry about mares

Equinox felt the looks and sighed. "Just because I have a weapon with me and a black coat on doesn't mean I'm an assassin" He thought as he stood up straight and notice Stormwing come up. He stood there silent.

Storm looked at the other stallion out of the corner of his eyes. "Alright, Mr. Stuck-up..." he muttered under his breath. He stood up straight, looking down at the ground. He swished his tail a little, not liking to stay still. He was, after all, a very adventurous pony...

"I heard that and you are not to speak to any of them without being addressed its a matter of respect " steel said eyes never leaving the crowd he knew grell had theses ponies under control

"Yes sir" Equinox said standing still before looking at Stormwing. "Check your tongue so you don't get in trouble" He muttered to storm wing. Not believing he would be disrespectful to a guard to Princess Luna

Lunar looked at Steel, sighing. "He's fine, Steel. He can talk to me if he wants. I don't mind." She looked at Stormwing, smiling coolly. "I am fine. Thank you for asking."

 

Midnight's ears lowered; she wasn't a fan of the tension in the air. She could sense pony's feelings, so she knew exactly how tense they were.

 

Luna sighed. "Thank you, Steel, for thinking of my protection, but there is no harm in two ponies talking while we wait for the other pony."

Steel sighed -so little respect- steel said "as you wish Luna " steel said never moving although he disagrees with ponies talking to such high ranks without being addressed he would listen

with out moving grell glanced at midnight and went to help her grabbing the box with his magic

Midnight blinked. "I-I'm okay. Don't worry about me," she said, quietly setting the box down next to Lunar.

 

Lunar smiled. "Thank you, Midnight." She leaned closer to her. "Don't reject his help. I have a slight feeling he may like you. I don't know yet," she whispered in her ear.

 

Luna smiled, ruffling Steel's mane a little. "This may be a war, but we can still have a little fun." She leaned in. "If you act too rigid, the assassin may assume we know..." she whispered, eyeing the crowd.

Steel smiled a little Luna always could make him smile he fixed his mane and scanning the crowd "relax you forget before I guarded your life I was an assassin " steel whispered

Grell sighed and went back to his post always ready to kill a pony if need be

Storm nodded politely, looking back at Lunar. "I apologize for being so... Informal." He straightened back up, becoming formal once more. He stood in his place. He looked out among the massive crowd of ponies, scanning the familiar faces. Friends he'd known since he'd first been brought to Itoshigo.

Midnight blinked, looking at Grell. She quickly went back to her post.

 

Lunar shook her head. "You weren't being informal at all." She flashed one of her notorius "flirt" smiles before looking back at the crowd.

 

Luna nodded, sighing. She looked at the crowd. -Where is this other pony???-

Storm perked his ears, not sure if Lunar was actually flirting with him. He grinned a little, feeling a little easier about the situation now that he was complemented. He moved just a little closer to her. He folded his wings a little more tightly, looking among the crowd.

Steel glanced over to luna a smile playing on his lips he forced it away -not the time or place steel - steel thought waiting for the assassin to try anything he or she would die it was a suicide mission especially since steel was the best assassin till he started protecting Luna

Equinox heard about the assassin and knew how to deal with one. "You must draw him or her out if you are looking for the assassin" He finally spoke again. "An assassin won't appear if they know you are waiting for him or her, but hey what do I know I'm not with or against you guys" He said

Midnight straightened up. -I must be more assertive. I have to impress Grell.- She opened her wings, looking around the crowd.

 

Lunar stood up and opened her wings, which were previously hidden by the cloak she was wearing (she was hiding the fact she's an alicorn). "Desdemona. Come forth now. Your princess has called you!" she demanded at the crowd, getting tired of waiting.

 

Luna giggled at Lunar's impatience. "Such a roudy girl..." she said to herself, shaking her head and smiling.

Steel turned his eyes going black "if you are not with us you are against us I know how to hunt an assassin considering I used to be one " steel said in a slightly demonic voice his blade raised ready to strike this mare down he didn't care who seen it ll

Storm had to duck out of the way a little as Lunar's wings unfurled. He was getting antsy from standing around so much. "Ugh..." he said once more, under his breath. "Can't wait to be able to move again." His wings began to twitch as well as his ears. He began to sort of check out Lunar, though knowing he shouldn't...

"I said im neither get it through you head" Equinox said as he looked at Steel. "I wouldn't dare try to harm your princess either if you are thinking that" He said as he put the katana in it's sheath on the ground. "No need to get all angry now" His eyes glowed as he looked at Steel.
