If Twilight was evil... Dun Dun DUN!

As we look through the MLP rogue gallery, we find some rather interesting and strange, but most of all nefarious characters. While the Mane Six have confronted some wicked villains, I believe that the one ultimate enemy they has yet to be encountered. But who could be vile and dastardly than an evil alter ego of a moon princess, a reality warping personification of chaos, the queen of a race of shape shifting consumers of love, a tyrannical king who utilizes dark magic (and has a peculiar obsession with crystals), and recently, a psychotic super villain with a monstrous mane? Only one pony came to mind...

 

Twilight Sparkle...

 

Well to be more specific, an evil version of Twilight. Let's think about it for a second. We all know Twilight is a master and a powerhouse when it comes to magic. It's her talent! And doesn't make her any less powerful that she's an ALICORN! Twilight can also be calculating, pragmatic, and manipulative, the kind of mind that could form evil but ingenious plans. The most incriminating piece of evidence would that that she unleashed a darker side of herself once. (*cough* lessonzero *cough cough*)  With the intelligence, the power, and the potential she possesses, if Twilight became evil, she would a force to be reckoned with.

 

But Twilight could ever really become evil. It doesn't seem likely with all the development she's gone through, the lessons she's earned, she's become a better pony. One that's trustworthy, caring, and better at dealing with stress and responsibility. There's no way she could become evil... But if the Joker has taught me anything, its that sometimes it just takes "one bad day" to drive anyone, or anypony in this case, into the abyss...

 

So what I'm thinking about is an episode (maybe even a movie) where the Mane Six encounter an alternate version of Twilight (during her time as an alicorn princess) who although has become evil, she hasn't given up on friendship. She's just embraced the darker side of it... This Twilight has gone through some event has caused her to adopt a twisted version of friendship that encourages kindness, loyalty, honesty, etc, but anypony that slips up and does an act of disharmony, even by mistake, is punished. Hard... 

 

So basically, any fanfic where Twilight is evil. I would just love to see this happen, how about you?

I've always loved the idea of an evil Twilight. Especially now that she's an alicorn, and even more powerful than ever. And the ideas you suggested are pretty good, I'd love to see that happen. I really want a two parter at the end of the season with evil Twilight, although I doubt it, because they've been setting up the Equestrian Games for a while, and I think that will be at the end instead.

I always thought that Twi has dark potential. I like it. I guess the only possible way for Twilight become evil is - losing her mind. The main reason why she's my favorite pony is because she has a quite unstable psyche. You can notice this in episode where she forgot to send a letter to Celestia. Actually Twilight are very kind, but hard life of Princess (stress, fatigue, fear) can get her "out of the rut". Back to episode 3 (season 2)  when Twilight enchanted the toy and the all ponies in the town almost killed each other. She didn't meant to hurt anybody, but she did. The same thing can happen again. There are several factors that can drive her crazy. The main factor is a sense of guilt for that either. I sure that everybody noticed that Twilight very susceptible to sense of guilt. Twilight can just lost her mind and do smth terrible, but she will think, that she is doing good things, that she helps anyone. But the sad truth will that she's the villain. And when she will see what she did... (I know that it's a kids cartoon, and she will never turns evil, but this idea is awesome isn't it?) 

 

WARNING SPOILERS: If you didn't watch Fight club, and if you did't played Spec ops: The line, please don't read it. 

 

I'm seriously.

 

 

It's like in Fight club, or Spec ops: The line. Main characters thought that they doing good things, but the sad truth was that they was just lost their mind, they turned evil psychopaths.

What I'm trying to say is that Twilight, like anyone else, has the potential to become a villain, and I think the idea of the Mane Six encountering an evil Twilight would be an interesting and not-so-farfetched idea that the show could use.

This could make for an epic two part episode. Twilight, of all ponies being the bad guy would be awesome. But why would she go evil? That's what I'm curious about.

She could go through an event that causes her to lose faith in the form of friendship she and her friends have, causing her to form a more twisted idea of friendship.  

 

Edit: As for anybody wondering why I was only thinking of Twilight turning evil when I said anyone could become evil, it would just seem more interesting to me to see Twilight become malevolent.

I wish we could submit episode ideas!
It would be a good moral of the episode that teaches others to never loose their way, or themselves! You see, I think this would make a really interesting, successful episode...and possibly one of the best (if it ever happened). If Princess Luna can be corrupted by jealousy enough to try to wipe out her sister for good, then Twilight could possibly get tweaked about friendship? x3

I hope they do something like this!

Fans do have a certain influence over their shows, and MLP is no exception. So who knows, the writers might find inspiration from this idea.

pff ahaahaha I just thinking, would de fun and sooo ironic if they will make two part episode like this: Twilight becomes evil (no matter what reason, let's pretend that she lost her mind, as I said in my last post) her magic became much more powerful, and in the end of the ends Celestia haven't any choice except reference Twilight to the moon as like she did with her own sister. OR Celestia will deprive her wings, and Twi become unicorn again. <= (dreams dreams dreams)

This made me think of the episode of The Twilight Zone where the little boy has psychic powers and he turns all the adults into horrible versions of death if they think unpleasant thoughts.

 

On topic: I would love to see this happen. I like the alternate dimension Twilight idea because then good Twilight could fight her like Shadow Link. I love evil twin/replica plots.
