KB sighed and kicked a button, causing the door behind Schwartz and Crystal to close. "I let that slip, didn't I? I guess I should explain myself. I was kicked out of my house when I turned 18. I lived on the streets, working as hired muscle for gangs. I eventually got backed into a corner by one gang, and was forced to kill for them. I got caught and thrown in the very cell outside this room. After a few months, Princess Luna herself came down here and explained her need for bat ponies to be her guards. She offered me the highest position in her power, off the record of course, in exchange for my loyalty. She was the only pony who believed that I didn't want to kill all those ponies, and I'm thankful for that. So here I am now, commanding Luna's army of guards." KB waited for the reactions of the only two guards who knew about her past now.

 

"Well, thats interesting. Princess Luna took in me and my brother Track. She said that I had the highest seat of power in her guards. I guess that she intended to have two. One on record, and the other off. This armor and weapons were enlistment presents. Luna adopted me and my brother after our parents died."

"Which is why you were so upset that Luna was kidnapped, seeing as she was the only pony who believed in you!" exclaimed Crystal Flame in realization. Then realizing that he had said that out loud, he coughed and said, "Um, I mean...that explains a lot, ma'am."

He re-evaluated his opinion of the pony. Well, on the one hand, she has a very strong alibi. On the other, she's still a criminal. Realizing that the door behind him was closed, and possibly locked, he stood statue-still, waiting for somepony else to make the first move.

 

Feeling like messing with Schwartz for being such a flirt, KB kicked the button again, opening the door. She grinned coyly at Crystal, "loosen up, pretty-boy, I'm not gonna bite ya'. Unless you like it rough." She laughed and walked by both ponies, running her tail under Crystal's chin as she walked through the secret door.

"Can I get up?"
