"You-you-you mean you-wa-want-to be my...my...mommy?" Maya asked starting to quiver again. Even though she was snuggled inside Meadow's warmth, she still was very skeptical about Meadow being her mother. She wouldn't be able to roam around like she used to before they met.

Meadow smiles, "yes dear, I want to give you the love and care that you need. You can still roam around the forest as you have been doing, I only ask that you be careful." She snuggles her as close as possible. "Of course I will enroll you in school, so that you can have a good education and make some friends too"

"School? What's that?" Maya asked snuggling into Meadow's warmth. "I've never even heard of school. Is it a place where I get to roam around and see other ponies? I'm kinda scared of that..." Maya stated as she burrowed herself deeper into Meadowlark's warm and fuzzy fur.

"S-s-special?" Maya didn't really know what this word meant. She thought that something would happen to her, and caused her to curl up in fear. Because she was never exposed to any type of compliment, she needed to be taught what they meant. She looked at Meadow with those teary puppy eyes.

Meadowlark smiled, "yes dear, its a nice thing to be. It means ponies will like you. I certainly do. In fact, I care for you a great deal." Meadow gave Maya's muzzle a small lick of affection. "Not every pony will like you, but those who don't aren't worth your time. Not at all. Dear, what I said about seeing you as my own daughter, I mean every word of it. And to me, you are a sweet, gentle and very cute little filly."/

"Y-y-you-you do?" Maya asked as she started to uncurl a little, which revealed some of her chubbiness. She sort of blushed at this and let out a very soft giggled as she stared at Meadowlark with a tiny little smile while still blushing. She was sort of laying belly-up as well.

Meadowlark smiles, giving Maya a little belly rub and nuzzles her, "I most certainly do sweetheart, now come on dear, let's gather your things, and I'll get you settled into your new home, and don't worry about feeling homesick, I have a nice garden too, and if you really feel homesick,  I will take you here to visit."

Maya giggled when Meadow rubbed her belly. "I-I really don't...have anything to...take with me..." Maya stated as she got up. She then noticed Meadow's left wing and started to touch and fool around with it. "Wh-what is this thing?" Maya asked suddenly still fooling around with Meadow's wing.

Ocean giggles, "hehe that tickles" she unfolds both her wings, "these are wings deary, they are what helps me to fly like a bird" she scoops her up in her arms and puts her on her back, "are you ready to go home dear?" she asks with a smile, "It's not very far from here"

"I-I am." Maya stated. She was a little spooked at the fact of how fast Meadow picked her up and put her on her back. She held on to her tightly. "I-I've never left this forest before..." Maya stated rather nervously. She started to quiver again as a tear cascaded down her face and landed onto Meadow's fur.

Feeling the tear drop hit her fur, Ocean takes Maya off her back and gives her a big hug, "It's ok dear, please don't cry." She kisses her on the head, "I know moving into a new place can be scary, believe me I know, but I just want my cute, adorable, chubby, sweet, special little filly to be happy"

"I'm just...just...scared..." Maya stated as she began to sob very lightly. In all honesty, she would rather stay in the forest with Meadow, rather than leaving the forest and living in Ponyville, where there are ponies with different viewpoints. Maya embraced Meadow tightly.

Meadowlark smiled, "You don't want to leave the forest do you sweetheart?" she asks, wiping the tears from Maya's eyes and face, "well you know dear, how about we make a compromise? something that can please us both. How about I build a house here, I'm not a carpenter or anything, but I can build a basic house for the both of us to live in here, and the only times we go into town is to get things we need? How does that sound pumpkin?"

Maya stopped quivering. "Wh-what's...what's a...house?" Maya asked as she stopped quivering and sobbing. She looked up at Meadow with a look of confusion. She needed to learn what things were, for since she wasn't going to school.

Maya blushed when Meadow nuzzled her. "Okay...mommy..." She said rather softly. She then uncurled and then climbed into her little flower bed. She soon drifted off to sleep. While sleeping she stirred just a little because of a dream she had. It wasn't necessarily a bad dream.

Meadowlark smiles widely at Maya calling her mummy, she finds something she could use as a blanket, then pulls it over Maya and tucks her in, she kisses her on the cheek and whispers, "Sleep well my little angel, mummy will be right here if you need her."

Maya stirred a little when she felt the blanket over her. She then calmed back down and continued to sleep.

 

Twenty minutes passed. Maya soon woke. "M-mommy?" She asked, as she looked around for Meadowlark with her eyes still half-closed. She started to quiver a little bit.

Meadow was right next to her and holds her hoof in hers, reassuringly, "yes sweety, what is it? Did my sweet little filly have a bad dream?" She asks, wrapping her up under one of her wings, "It's ok sweety, I'm here, I'll always be here for you, I promise." She holds Maya close to her.

Maya was still quivering a bit. "A-what's...what's a dream?" Maya asked stil quivering and holding on to Meadow's hoof tightly. She was very scared. She thought a dream was a bad thing to have. Her eyes started to well up with tears again as she grasped Meadow's hoof.

"A dream is what you have when you are asleep dear, it's those visions in your mind. Sometimes you have nice dreams and sometimes...some scary dreams." she nuzzles her, "So what has made my sweet little angel so scared?" She asks, patting Maya's hoof reassuringly.

"I don't know...I-I kept seeing this...thing...c-covered..." Maya stated as a tear fell from her eye. It was the sage who created her. He was tormenting her from her mind. Because he made her, he had control over her thoughts. Suddenly an image flashed into her mind, which caused her to let out a little scream and grab on to Meadow. She started to sob.
