"A f-fire? What's a fire?" Maya asked. "Will it hurt me?" She asked starting to quiver again as she gave Meadow a confused and scared look.

 

(Since Maya is half plant, her ability will be weakened by fire. However, the water she absorbs in her body will come to use against this)

"oh well never mind dear, I'll just keep you warm, well can you go around looking for big leaves that we can use for the top of the house please?" Meadowlark says, looking over a makeshift plan of the house in her notebook. "there's a good girl"

Maya got up and went to find some leaves. However, when she went near them, a mysterious green aura surrounded them. They levitated in front of her. Maya was a little scared. "Mommy?!" She called out. The leaves just levitated there in front of her. She began to walk, and they followed her. "Mommy?" Maya called out again.

Meadowlark heard the fear in Maya's voice and quickly runs to her and hugs her, "What is it sweety? Did you see something scary?" She hugs her tight and coos to her, "shh, shh, mummy's here, don't be scared, what happened love?" She asks stroking her mane, trying to calm her down

"Those." Maya stated pointing to those leaves levitating. "I was about to pick one up, when they went into the air and stayed in front of me. When I walked...they followed me..." Maya stated quivering a little. The leaves were still levitating up in the air, for little did Maya know, they were under her command.

Meadowlark's eyes widened, "Oh wow darling, I didn't know you could do that. But I think that's because you are half plant, so maybe you have a special command over plants and make them do what you want them to." She nuzzles her, "It isn't a bad thing sweety, it just makes you even more special"

"O-okay." Maya stated as she uncoiled and walked. The leaves followed her back to the place. She somehow was able to put them down. She saw some near by sticks and unconsciously focused on them. Before you know it, they lined themselves up on the ground and made the foundation of the house. "Mommy look!" Maya said with a little joy in her tone.

Meadowlark clapped her hooves in joy, "Maya darling, that's wonderful! You truly are a special little filly, never let anypony tell you any different." She walks over to Maya and hugs her, "who wants a tickle?" She asks, gently rolling Maya onto her back and gently tickling her belly.

Maya started to giggle and laugh. She then focused her energy and brought a leaf over to Meadow and started to tickle her on her hoof as she continued to giggle, laugh and flail her limbs.

 

(When Maya finishes the entire house by herself, she'll earn her cutie mark)

Meadowlark giggles and starts blowing raspberries on Maya's belly, "who's a special little miracle?" she coos, "you are, yes you are. You're mummy's little miracle." she blows another raspberry on Maya's belly and snuggles her, "please never change my little angel"

"I-I won't change mommy..." Maya stated as she recovered form the laugh attack. She then gathered more leaves and flipped over. "My turn!" She stated as she ticked Meadow with the leaves she gathered everywhere. The sticks she laid earlier for the house were still there.

"g-good" Meadowlark says through her laughing, "Oh darling, you truly do make me happy. I am so glad we met." She says reaching over to hug Maya, but Maya was just out of reach, Meadow just stays there and laughs as she let the leaves tickle her, she saw the smile on Maya's face and sighed happily.

Maya laid herself on top of Meadowlark as the leaves continued to tickle her. "Now who's the cute one?" Maya asked giggling and laughing as her leaves continued to tickle Meadow all around. Maya was almost about to get her cutie mark. One big feat would give it to her.

Meadowlark giggles, "Oh you're still the cute one darling, you will always be cute in mummy's eyes and heart." She wraps her arms around Maya and snuggles her, "you are extremely cute and adorable, but I really need to do something about your mane, once the house is built I will give you a mane cut  and style"

"But I don't want my mane to be cut. I like it this way. Maya stated as she commanded the leaves to stop and they just fell to the ground. She then started to fiddle with her mane until she remembered the house needed to me finished. "Wait mommy, we still need to finish the house." Maya remembered.

"We do darling, and I guess I can let you keep your mane the way it is, if you really like it" Meadowlark says with a smile, "come on then sweetheart, the sooner we get the house built, the sooner we can relax and I can cook something up for you. Would you like that?"

"That sounds good." Maya stated as she went searching for more stuff to build the house. She found logs, sticks, and large leaves, which she carried them with her new power. She had something in mind. She was going to use her newfound power and build the house in seconds. "Mommy! Watch me!" Maya stated as she focused her new power.

Meadowlark couldn't really see how Maya could build their house all on her own, but it couldn't hurt to see if she could, she smiles, "You can do it sweety, I have faith in you" She calls out, smiling as she sits and watches  Maya as she starts to build the house.

Maya focused her energy and caused some logs to levitate. They went all around the foundation, stacking themselves up to build the walls of the house. the leaves levitated above the house to make the roof and soon, all four walls, the roof and the foundation were merged together to make the large house in the forest. A symbol magically appeared on Maya's flank: two leaves on top of a pink heart surrounded by stars. "Mommy! Look!" Maya stated jumping happily.

Meadowlark smiled widely, "Aaaw darling! that's just wonderful, you got your cutie mark! And it's a lovely one too. Come here you" She says pulling Maya in for a big hug, "I'm so proud of you, and the house looks absolutely amazing." She hugs her tightly and kisses her cheek.

Maya snuggled in for the hug. She was glad that she now had her cutie mark. She was now one step away from defeating that sage, the one who created her for malicious purposes. Maya then looked at her flank and saw the symbol. "Mommy, what's a cutie mark?" Maya asked.

Meadowlark smiles, "Well its the symbol that defines what your destiny...what you are meant to do for the rest of your life." She says snuggling Maya, "it's the symbol there on your flank, unfortunately, because I am half changeling, I do not think that I will ever get one, but it doesn't really bother me much"

"But-but...you have to have a talent. Everypony has a talent..." Maya stated. "And what's a changeling by the way...if I didn't ask you before?" Maya asked as she looked at the symbol on her flank. She touched it. Nothing happened except she could feel herself touching her flank.
