Luna had a smile form across her face.

"Yes. Let us depart, my prince."

She leaned in and gave Geoff a kiss on his cheek. And went to retrieve the others. Celestia and Aaron were waiting at the doors, awaiting the others. Soon they will depart. This time, they were taking the train the whole way there.

Geoff smiled at the title and kiss. He did like Luna a whole lot. He followed the blue mare out to where Celsetia and Aaron were waiting. The group got into the train headed directly for their destination. It saved a lot of walking. Geoff watched the trees pass by, admiring the landscape.

The gtoup sat in the train, awaiting their destination to arrive. They knew not of what the town would be like.

"So, Celestia. What is our next Item?"
"We are going after the changelings hide. A set of armor that may allow the user to morph themselves into any shape they desire,"

Geoff listened to the explanation. 'That could be more damaging than the mask. This ain't going to be good...' He said as he thigh by about the possibilities. It could cause mass terror.

 

'Yeah, we need to get that armor fast. That's extremely dangerous.' He said flatly.

The train continued on. The two mares fell asleep the whole way there and within a few hours they had arrived in the familiar forest. But not the familiar path. The path would lead them to the town in which they would find the next item in question. What trials await them, they would not know.

Geoff stepped off the train and looked around. It was pretty barren with only a few buildings around. Some were stores and others houses, but no hotels. He sighed. 'Well, here we are. I guess we just follow the journal now.' He announced as he began to walk down the platform. O

They walked along the path. Luna and Celestia nuzzled against their new love interests. Aaron was a bit awkward about it, but he let her have her fun. They occasionally let out a giggle for what ever reason. Within a short walk later, they had arrived at a small town. The trees grew over it and let very little light in. In fact if they hadn't already saw it, they would say it was night time. But it was barely even noon.\

"So. This is Hollow Shades. I admit, I kinda like it."

"A bit dark for me, but the lamp posts do create an atmosphere. Luna what of you."

She looked around interested. SHe had not been to this little town before.

"It seems... quaint."

Geoff looked around the nearly abandoned town. 'Eh. I've seen worse.' He remarked as he walked forward into the town. It really did seen abandoned. Ponies were nowhere to be seen.

 

'What happened here? Isn't there a pony anywhere near here?' He asked, scanning the small town.

They all looked around. Not a soul was seen. Aaron placed his mask on in case something was to go wrong here. They all looked through the town, careful not to separate. Luna was the first to reply.

"I do not know. Their doesn't seem to be any sign of a struggle. The buildings are untouched and look like they are worked on frequently to stay up to code. Yet... there isn't a pony in sight."

Geoff was confused. He moved cautiously ahead. 'Ok, I guess we'll just have to search then.' He declared as he moved to one of the buildings. The blind were closed and the door was cracked open. 'Odd...' He muttered as he creaked it open some more. He couldn't see anything.

Aaron was backing up to the walls. He could feel the anxiety of this place. The fear was feeding its power. Something happened here and yet he couldn't tell what it was. He was backing his way to the wall when he didn't feel the wall. He just kept going. He went back and looked at it. He placed his hand against it expecting a hard surface and yet he passed right through.

"Oh that is cool."

 

Luna was looking with Geoff. Trying to find some form of life.

"Hello. Any pony home."

She stayed close to Geoff, not letting him separate from her.

Geoff creaked open the door. It was dark inside. He slowly walked into the building. He couldn't see anything, but prepared for...something. He felt his way around. It seemed to be a house, but nothing was here. 'Luna, I don't think anypony is here.' He said quietly as he moved farther into the house.

"Neither do I. I haven't seen a sign of life since we arrived. This is a bit unsettling to us. though we should keep looking for something."
The two began to search the house. She has not found a thing. Celestia and Aaron weren't having any luck as well. Aaron was using the mask to squeeze through tight barricades to look for something.

Geoff quickly checked another house. Nothing. He sighed in frustration. 'Where are all the ponies? It can't be lifeless...' He said. He looked around at the houses for Aaron and Celestia. 'We should go find your sister and Aaron. Maybe they've had more luck.' He suggested.

They regrouped back at the center of town. Both teams arriving empty handed and filled with suspicion.

"So. Who else is feeling a bit creeped out, because I am and I'm wearing a mask that manifests nightmares."
I feel an eeriness in this place as well. Yet the cuase is something unknown to me. Building on that fear."

'Yeah, this isn't the most...pleasant town.' Geoff agreed. It reminded him of Silent Hill, just less...death. He let out a small laugh at that. He turned back to his friends. 'So what now? What about the journal, what does it say?' He asked, looking at Luna curiously.

Celestia brought out the journal and handed it to Luna. She began to look through it and she found nothing.

"Nothing. The journal says it was given to the mayor of this town a long time ago. It says nothing about it being abandoned."
She closed the book.

"Then lets check the mayors office. That's a good place to start."

Geoff nodded and pointed towards a medium sized building at the end of the path. 'That must be it.' He said as he began to walk to it. He came to the door. It was old and rotted, like all the others. He opened it and looked inside. As usual, it was dark. He slowly crept inside. It was rather large on the inside. 'Come on.' He called to his friends outside.

They all entered. Careful not to separate from each other. They would search a room to find clues and move onto the next one. Careful to gather any information that may help. They then came to the mayors office. Aaron opened the door and the group walked in.

"Alright, guys. Search the place."

Geoff ran to a cabinet at the back. It had a lock on it. He assumed it was for liquor, but it was safe to say that it could contain more. It always contained more. He pointed at the lock. 'Do we have some lock picks or something?' He asked, scanning the room, hoping it would be as easy as Fallout.

Aaron looked to Geoff. He needed a lock pick. He was looking around and found nothing. Then he got an idea. He walked up to the cabinet and held out his hand with the mask still on.

"Hopefully this works."

He began to focus the tingly feeling to his fingertips, and soon enough his shadow began to crawl to the point in which he was pointing. A smile of glee spread across his face as the shadow drained into the key hole. Aaron flicked his wrist and he heard a click. The shadow crawled back into place.

"Okay. You can have the armor. I'm keeping this, cause that was awesome."

'Aww...' Geoff said with a smirk. 'I wanted to lock pick it.'

 

Geoff opened the cabinet. He didn't find anything that stuck out. However, he noticed something. One bottle seemed...static. He pulled on it, and a grinding was heard. He looked around, but didn't see anything. 'Seriously? No fold out stand or rotating door?' He asked as he scanned the room again.

"Yeah. I was hoping for some kind of creepy doorway or maybe a strange creature."
"I admit. I am a bit disappointed as well. We demand some answers, now.
"Calm down Luna. We found... something. Lets just look around some more."
They all did as he suggested. They looked around for nearly a half hour. Until.

"Hey guys. Has that door always been there?"
They all stopped to look. What they saw was an old door with warn down wood and a mirror on it.

Geoff thought about it.

 

'No, I don't think it has. We should check it out.' He said as he tried to push the door open again. It was locked. Aaron went to put on his mask but Geoff threw himself at it. The old door came apart at the hinges.

 

'I wasn't expecting that to actually work...these doors are older than I thought.' He said as he moved through it. K

They all walked into the long hall hallway. At the end, they saw what they seek. The changelings hide. It was a small piece of armor. It looked like it could barely protect anything that wasn't their upper chest.

"Well. That was easy. Geoff, care to do the honors."
