Icewater Cabin

Northern Mountians

Winter

 

 

Seth Eclipse was in the head position of a dogsled team on the way to his his retreat cabin for the winter. He would have gone alone, but he met up with a pack of diamond dogs that were practicing for the Equestrian winter games. In need of a member to practice with, the alpha wolf filled the missing spot for their run.

 

As they approached the cabin he had signed to lodge for the winter, Seth signaled to the team that he was at his destination. They slowed up and came to a halt outside the wooden building. the wolf unharnessed his gear and stowed it away on the sled and took out his dufflebags.

 

"Thanks for the run" He called the team as they departed for their continues practice. Seth walked up to the door, seeing a note with seven keys on it. Looking over the list, he didn't recognize any others that were going to lodge with him. He grabbed his key and clipped it to his necklace that already held his dog tags. He unlocked the door and tucked the chain back into his fur. Seeing that he was the first here, Seth found it right to scout through the cabin and see what there was. In his search he found,

 

- 7 bedrooms (labeled with their owners names)

- A large den with a fireplace surrounded by chairs and a large couch

- A study with ample supply of books

- A large kitchen (stocked for three weeks)

- Queen size beds

- Restroom facilities per room

- store room for any large gear

- dining hall

 

Seth made his way to his room and began to unpack his bags. As he did so, he came across a picture he always carried with him: one of him an his brother, Dawn.

Volt was cursing with himself flying toward the mountain house

 

"damn it! stupid me! i could have bought a bucking train ticket and a cabin one! but noooo! i must be always this greedy! finally a vacation away from that dam and i must ruin it by flying toward the destination! stupid stupid stupid!"

 

he screamed in the clear sky punching himself with his right hoof, he finally landed... he shaked off some of the snow and ice that were on his tail and he dropped the small two bags attached on his saddle

 

"damn it.. i hope it is warm inside.."

 

he opened the door

 

"hello? is anypony there?"

*I walk up to my room, where I lay down on the bed* better unpack

 

*I reach into my backpack and pull out a spell book and a picture of Nightmare, Dark, and Discord.

Hearing the two guests enter the cabin, Seth put down the picture and waled to the stairwell leading to the ground floor. He saw two ponies, one being a blue pegasus, the other being a dark navy blue alicorn. So... this is is the ponies he was staying with. Cool. "Welcome to the great snowy out doors!" He called. "I was about to start a fire, anypony want to grab a few logs from the pile outside?"

 

He walked over to the fire and arranged the timber to military standers. Finding a match, he lit the light brush. All it needed was the larger log.

"what the hell was that? a black unicorn? here... aw hell.. awesome.. sigh.. i just wanted peace... where is the key? i am sure i booked for a private room! oh here it is! "

 

he grabbed a key from the counter and he walked upstairs

 

"Doctor Electron Volt: reserved.. oh hell the last time i had my name over a room was my office in the labor.... "

 

Volt looked at the door for a long moment

 

"nevermind.."

 

he opened it and after having trown the bags from the other side of the bed, he launched himself over it

 

"my wings... ahhh.. better than my bucking pipes... ewwww... a cloud is better but nevermind..."

 

in less than one second he was sleeping, still dressed

And there she was.A white mare,with a distinctive saphire mane,flying towards nowhere,following the indications of a letter,who said that,in the middle of the Northern Mountains,there was a surprise for her.

"*Shivering*ehh...that's really cold here.But i see something in the distance...

A cabin?.Will be that the so famous surprise?"

When she reached the door,she didn't even bothered on watching the note at the door.She picked up a key and opened the door as fast as possible.

"Oh my celestia!!!!So warm...that's life!!!!"

But she noticed that,watching the state of the cabin,it was inhabited by somepony

"Hello?Is there somepony there?"

Seth grabbed the log from the alicorn and looked at him with a stern gaze. He tossed the log on the fire, knocking done his work's effort. This was going to be a long two weeks.

 

"Your father killed my nation you winged equine." He muttered under his breath. Hearing the newcomer, the wolf came out of his angered state and waled to the door. What he met was a pegasus mare. "Nice to see another is here for the stay," The wolf greeted.

Trying to not name again that bad experience to Night,because it seemed to make him suffer...

 

"Did you noticed something before entering?They were 5 keys on the door,and i picked up one to open it,so they're 4 more,then that means that probably there's going to be more people here,don't you think?"

 

But she didn't have enought patience to wait for them

 

"Did you know that,i'm going to sleep(i hope there's a bed around here...)"

 

She ended founding 7 beds,but one of them was ocuped

 

"Hmm...a cyborg pony?...maybe i'll try to talk with him tomorrow...but now...i only want...to...sleep..."

 

She fell onto a bed,with a note who said "Lightwing"

Seth was about to greet the mare, but Night interrupted him. He glared at the alicorn with burning hatred. It wasn't just his actions today that got on the wolf'c nerves, but of what he had said earlier. Discord, the one true being that Seth and all other wolves loathed, was that winged monstrosity's father. His muscles tensed as he watched the two depart for their rooms. When they left, Seth was alone by the fire. He sat, watching the wood, like his anger, burn away. He didn't want to condemn Night just because of his bloodline, but when your father was responsible for the near genocide of an entire nation, that's another matter. After a while, the wolf decided to let the matter go until the morning.

 

Seeing as he was the last up, he put out the fire, locked down the cabin for the night, and walked to his room. Seth finished unpacking his things, placing the picture on his night stand along with his necklace. He then climbed into bed and began to sleep. As the moon rose over the northern mountains, Seth's body began to twitch. His forearms clenched, his legs jutted out. The wolf sprang out of bed. He opened his pain filled eyes. What were normally an icy blue, the wolf's eyes were now a sickening green. His normal wolf fangs grew sharper and elongated themselves. He was a werewolf.

 

He opened his door to the hall and trotted down the hall. Finding the door he wanted, Night's room. He opened the door, finding the alicorn asleep. Trotting over to the helpless victim, he muttered to himself in a harsh low tone. "This is for my brethren, you hell spawn." He then opened his mouth and lunged for the exposed neck of his prey. When they hit flesh, he began to such the ample blood as it poured from the pony's neck. After a few seconds, his thirst was quenched. He ran back to his room and locked his door, awaiting the dawns first light.

 

 

(ooc: firstly, I chose randomly for the part of the vamp, and it gave it to me. Secondly, I am a werewolf, but that's just because there are no vampire wolves that I could find in myth. You are still vampires.)

Volt woke up, something strange just happened

 

"what the hell... i felt like.. bah it is the storm outside... better unpack my stuff..."

 

he said while opening his two bags, one with clothes the other with the stricktly necessary to repair and build handy things

"i can't travel without.. it gives me on my nerves... well time to meet the other guests.."

 

he changed his work coat with a cleaner and more decent black cotton shirt and he exited from his room

 

"uhmm.. hello? Ponies? Mind if i prepare breakfast?"

*I walk into the bathroom* *I start to wash my face and notices the bite mark* Hmm what's this?

 

*I take a closer look* Bah, probably nothing. *I walk back into my room and take a long look at the photo*

Seth stretched his muscles as he began to stir. He opened his eye to the world, slightly wincing at the early morning light. He got out of bed and trotted into the bathroom to perform his usual routine. As he passed the mirror, he gave himself a quick look over. He smiled at the blue  eyed wolf staring back at him, unaware of the events of the night before. However, a slight redness in his fur caught his eye. After a second of thought, he shrugged it off as just blood of some griffon meat he ate the morning before he arrived here.

 

Hearing the request from another pony, Seth called. "Sure. When I get out, I'll join you in the kitchen." He then proceeded to take his shower and other morning duties.

When she woke up,she saw that the cyborg pony wasn't there

"Mmm...he'll be on another place"

But in that moment,her only though was... a roaring stomach,who made a soung which sounded through all the cabin

"Hehe...maybe i should look for something to eat before nothing"

And when she found the kitchen,she saw the wolf from the last night,and the cyborg pony,but before nothing,she looked for something to eat...

"*munching something*and... who are you,cyborg pony?"

Volt said enetering the kitchen, he then opened the fridge

 

"damn.. i must buy something! there is almost nothing! luckily there are some oranges.... now where is the squeezer?"

"here it is... i hope they will not mind an orange juice.."

*The the night was late and cold as she sat in her 2 gryphon drawn carriage, flying above a treeline of a forest. The wind stinged her eyes and seemed to go right through her coat forcing her to cover her eyes as they carried on. She tried to lie down in the royal red pillow seat, but the feeling of being of royalty and honor didn't make her feel any less comfortable, nor did it do much for the howling wind as it blew her hood off her head repeatly, revealing her horn and wings occassionally*

 

It's...so cold! *She shouted to the royal Imperium Gryphon guards pulling the carriage.* Are you two ordered by Empress Nortica to fly me out all the way back the Ponyville mountains? It's so cold for me I can't imagine what it must feel like for you gentle gryphons!

 

Not to fear my lady! *Shouted the grown and black gryphon on the left* The Empress has already arranged for a place for us to stay till the winter storm passes. It's at a small wooden cabin down below in these woods! You'll be safe there till we can recover.

 

Safe... *she sighed and shrugged at the same time, feeling distaste in being called "My lady". Being a low ranked alicorn princess was something she was still not into after her acsention...She sighed again and re-thought the negotiations in her head as the two gryphon guards flew on, grunting to herself that she had to fly all the way out on her dragon husband's back for simple negotiations on a protective treaty for the dragon mines of the North, by gryphon help.* Why couldn't those negotiations be done without me? *She shouted at the right gryphon she knew was present at the meetings* If I didn't have to be there, we three wouldn't be stuck in this cold mess!

 

But Princess Lightning Bliss! The Alicorn of Unity must be there for all treaty alterations when it occurs! The Empress and your mother in law Prya of the Wyvern clans were most grateful of your presence!

 

Yes I know but... *she sighed and gave up on the struggle just as she heard the left soldier announce they were landing near the dark wooden cabin, alrighty lighten from the inside, looking warm and inviting*

 

*They landed with a skid and a slip, the wheels of the golden carriage seeming to get stuck in the snow as the gryphon soldiers reared up to stretch their backs for the first time. She hopped out of the carriage with her cape and hood still on, the wind still blowing on them aggressively and nuzzled both soldiers gratefully for their service and strong will against the elements.*

 

Won't you two come in for a drink and food at least? You both did so much for me already!

 

*They looked at each other before grinning and the right soldier replied* Sorry my lady, but we have our own lodging outside the forest. Empress Nortica imagined you'd be annoyed by our presence with we carrying you around on one of her royal carriages and all, she knows how you like to keep a low profile.

 

Oh... well where will you two be staying?

 

We'll be staying in a local gryphon tavern outside the forest, its a few miles from here, not far my lady *the left gryphon replied* Go in now please, it does us great pleasure to see that our guest is safe and warm inside.

 

Especially when she's as cute as you! *the right gryphon giggled, getting a small nudge from his comrade*

 

Hehe... thank you gentlemen, then I shall see you in a few days?

 

Indeed your Highness *they both said, then bowed, then quickly took back into the air, heading to their own place of rest*

 

*She turned to the large wooden cabin, checking that her saddle bags were secured on her back, took a deep breath and approached the door. She was a bit surprised to see a note on the door informing her of the lodging and that a room was reserved in her name, then gently pushed the door open. Immediatly she was welcomed with a surpising but warm sight of a few other ponies and a wolf.*

 

Hello there? Good evening *she pulled her hood down and shurgged her cape over her shoulders, hiding her horn and wings* Buurrr! It's so cold outside, this cabin is just...so welcoming um... My name is Lightning Bliss, nice to meet you all
