"A fighting chance to do what?" he asked "Kill yourself? Are you sure your mind is not clouded? if i were you i would be doing something else."

Sam picked up the second package and carefully began to peel away the wrappings. She neatly folded the paper next to her and opened the box. She gasped with joy.

 

"An encyclopedia," she cheered. "Oh thank you, thank you!"

 

She hugged the book and then picked up her stuffed toy.

 

"Look daddy," she said pointing the toy toward the book. "An encyclopedia, now I can keep learning things!"

Rain continued to ignore Six. "This isn't your problem, Six, okay? There's a lot of reasons why I want to die. I need to deal with this myself."

She looked at Stitches, eyes narrowed. "What would you be doing, then? Talking to that empty shell you call Shadow? He probably doesn't even know my name."

"Of course he still knows you name" A grin appeared on Stitches as he dropped her and began to walk a few steps back "That would be exactly what i meant. and i got the reaction i hoped for." he opened a note book "First test done, result, Does not seem to want to help" he said as he wrote it down. "Rain... Ah wanna help ya... but ya just push me away. Ya said ya loved me too... But ah can't believe that anymore..." said Six. At this point, he looked utterly defeated and brokenhearted. He took a step back, tears starting to fall down his face, "Ah couldn't stand ta see ya die the first time, ah can't stand it now..." he slowly turned away, walking out of the house, feeling nothing but pure emptiness...

now with rain alone, misery appeared in front of her

 

"i watched the whole thing! that was brilliant how you utterly crushed six like that"

Rain sat slumped against the wall. There was nothing else to do but sit there. She then stood up slowly and walked over to where Shadow was sitting and hugged him, kissing his cheek one last time, before she walked out of the house and did the same to Six. She then started to walk up the road, considering other methods of suicide. She ignored Misery and just kept walking.

"You got what you wanted."

Six stood there as Rain left, "Ah wanted ta help ya, try ta make ya happy again. Why won't ya let me" he said loud enough for her to hear but he didn't move, just watched her with bloodshot eyes.

Rain shook her head at Misery and then turned to face Six, tears sparkling in her eyes. She wiped at them angrily. "Dammit, I don't deserve to cry!" She then sighed miserably. "I can't be happy. Every time I do something with someone it's never the right thing! I can't win, I can't make anyone feel good...I'm useless!"

"Well our experiment has gotten quite boring...." Stitches said as he walked over to Shadow. Dakota looked at him "Well he is basically a monkey now, we should fix him before this gets out of hand"

His time six approached Rain, "But yer not. Yer caught in a struggle that ya can't break free from ah understand that, but yer death will only cause more problems not solve them. Ahm happy enough just ta know yer alive Rain. Ah killed mahself when Shadow killed you in the Everfree. Ah wasnt able ta handle it, ah care about ya too much"

Stitches hand glowed purple, he punched Shadow right in the face with it knocking him off the chair. He hit the ground a groaned "Are you done with your stupid experiment now?" he asked. Stitches nodded "It twas a success" he said. Shadow stood up "Finally, That was getting weird" He said almost as if nothing was wrong

 

All three of them walked to the door. Shadow opened it and all of them walked out. He saw Rain and Six talking "Alright, dafuq did i miss?" he asked in his normal irritated tone.

Rain's tears bubbled over, but she didn't say anything. She just gave him a hug and then pulled away with a sad smile right before Shadow walked out.

She glanced at him and her smile slipped away only to be replaced with a steely expression. "So you decided to wake him up, then."

"Why not, out experiment is over?" Stitches said sitting on the steps with a laugh. Shadow looked at Stitches with a 'Stfu' look.

Six smiled very slightly as she hugged him, he looked over and noticed Shadow seemed different. He was back to normal.

Rain just looked indecisive for a second, then she briefly hugged Shadow too. "Glad you're back to normal."
