Ok, let's play a game! We'll all get together and tell one big story, see where it takes us.

 

Here are the rules:

1) Keep the characters cannon, no OC's

2) Try to keep each post somewhat short

3) Try to only use editing for spelling mistakes and things like that

4) Have fun!

 

I'll start the story, Once upon a time in the magical land of Equestria...

Twilight was sitting quietly in her library, flipping through a collection of old spell books. As of late she had an odd yearning to delve into old books, learning of past concepts and ancient knowledge. At the moment she was studying the works of the old alchmesists and their experiments of using magic to change iron into gold.

I t was a success! Well, at the least it had seemed so. The gold, as if creeping a maniacal smile, shone as brigther than the sun's corona. It was blinding to her young eyes, never had she'd known the consequences of old magic would be this severe. Princess Celestia had warned her previously of the dangers of ancient spells. She told her that many of the spells have backfired and have not been redone. Some spells hold powers even I cannot control. Before even proceeding to the next thought, the luminous aura from the gold engulfed Twilight to areas of this world that have not been known.

As the light faded, Twilight blinked and looked around. Seemingly, nothing had changed. She shook her head and reached for her spell book, but her hoof passed right through the pages. Again she grabbed at the book, nothing happened. She heard footsteps and turned, spike was making his way down the stairs.

"Twilight?" he called. "I saw a flash of light and...Where are you?"

"Spike I'm right here!" Twilight said desperately. “Can’t you see me?”

Spike walked right past Twilight and stared at the mess she had made. “Twilight never leaves her spell books on the floor like that.” He observed. “I wonder where she went.”

Twilight gestured wildly as Spike searched the house for her. As an experiment, Twilight wound up and a shot her back legs directly at Spikes head. She passed harmlessly through him and fell to the floor. Spike shivered and continued his search. As Twilight considered what had happened to her, she saw a shadowy figure peak through her window.

Twilight turned towards the window, expecting one of her friends, but nopony was there.

Curious, she went up the the window and peered through. She leaned on the windowsill, or at least tried, but she fell straight through the wall and landed on the grass.

"Ow." She moaned sitting up and looking back at the library.

Then she saw something, a shadow darting out of the corner of her eye. She turned toward it, but was again meant with nothing.

"Hello?" She asked

I'm having a lot of fun with this too, but I don't think it's gonna get many hits. So, my question is, do you want to keep playing this in pm? You sound like a really good writer, and we can invite other people to write the story with us. What do you think?

Worth a shot, I suppose. We could always leave this here and see if anyone joins in later.
