A few hours later, sapphire looked out the window and yawned, it was still dark, so she was guessing it was around the time of early morning before the sun rises. She proped her self up with a pillow and grabbed her book, looking at it then getting up and putting on her jacket

Times stood on top one of the watch towers and watched the moon disappear behind the horizon.

 

A few hours earlier...

 

Times followed the soldier to the generals quarters. Times knocked and he heard a voice "Come in" Times opened the door and saw the general, who was sitting at a desk writing something. "You called for me.... sir" Times said. Times was never comfortable with calling anypony sir or maim. The general looked at Times and said "Yes, yes I did. So your the great Commander Hay I hear about." Times rolled his eyes. "I wouldn't call myself great but thank you." Times said. "nonsense, don't be so modest. I saw what you did out there." the general said. Times scratched the back of his head and said "Well it wasn't just me, you have my team to thank also." The general smiled and said "Well you gave the orders. Wait where are my manners take a seat." Times grabbed a chair and sat down. Times and the general chatted for an hour. Before Times left, Times flew up to the top a watch tower and looked at the stars. The soldiers wondered what he was doing up there but didn't bother him. 

 

Now...

 

Times yawned and looked at his watch. It was 5:30, the sun will rise soon. Times lay'd down and looked up at the clear sky.

Sapphire yawned and opend her door, walking into the yard. She lay down, staring at the stars. Most of her was coverd up by her coat, and she smiled as she was still warm. She looked over to her book, opend it, and started reading as there were only enuff light to read

Times stood back up and jumped back down onto the wall of the fort. One of the soldier looked at him before looking away. Times jumped down outside the fort and looked at the forest. Times sat down and saw a deer walk out of the forest. It saw Times and ran. Times watched as it ran back into the forest. Times looked up and the moon and yawned.

Sapphire looked up at the stars, she got up slowly and walked to a wall, she could still see a few bodys lying there, one or two she was sure she had shot. She sighed and looked down at her book

 

Embers looked down at times and tilted his head. He smiled and looked back up at the sun that was coming up

Times stood up and flew back up and landed inside the fort. He saw the rising sun and went into his quarters. He came out wearing his armor but not his helmet. He had the letter and found a messenger. Times gave the letter to the messenger and the messenger headed to then everfree forest. Times walked around and found a building with a blacksmith.

Embers sighed and hoped down from his tree, looking around him for anything he could do now that he was stuck

 

Sapphire looked around from the top of the fort, she smiled as she saw the sun rising. She went back to her room, grabbed her sword and rifle, and walked back out into the day

Times spoke with the blacksmith and the black smith said that he would have Times armor done by noon. Times smiled, dropped off his armor and left. Times didn't bring his helmet because he wanted to repair it on his own. Times saw Sapphire and smiled. Times walked into another building and borrowed some red and blue paint. Times walked back to his quarters and opened the cans of  paint. He set his helmet on the table and began painting the red cross.

Sapphire smiled back at times as he walked away, she yawned and sat down, looking over the field and out into the forest, who knows, this war might end soon. She chuckled and lay back, smiling at the sky and looking at her book, the rolling over and opening it

Times slowly painted the cross, trying to not mess up and not to get in paint in the holes. Times also tried to not paint over where the face guard and base meet. Times would like to be able to open it. Times made the outline and started to fill it in. "steady... steady" He said to himself.

Sapphire sat down on the wall, looking down at the fort. She could see many ponys going around. She smiled and got up, walking back down the wall and looking at everypony as they walked past. She walked out of the fort and into the forest, smiling as she did. She then walked down a path

Times finished painting the cross and started painting the blue crescent moon. Times finished painting it and closed the paint cans. He set down his helmet to dry and grabbed the cans. He left his quarters and returned the paint. Times flew back up to the watch tower and sat down. He looked down at the forest.

Sapphire smiled as she walked into the forest, her flower still stuck in her hair. She looked around, she saw a few bunnys, and some birds. She sighed then turned back, looking over to see times and smiling as she looked at him. She walked over and sat next to him, looking at the sky

Times looked at Sapphire and smiled. He looked up at the sky and saw a cloud. He remembered when he didn't have a care in the world. Times looked at Sapphire and said "I'm guessing you are having a good morning." He said with  large smile. Times looked forward at the forest and sighed.

Sapphire smiled and looked over at times "Yes, I have" She then yawned and looked around, up the the forest "It seemes like the forest is still alive" She chuckled and sat up, opening her book and slowly turning the pages, thinking back to when she was a filly

Times smiled and said "yeah.... oh I forgot to ask, did you ever find out who gave you the flower." Times looked at Sapphire and saw she was looking down at a book. Times didn't want to snoop and looked forward. Times yawned and looked up ate the sky. Times saw a small cloud and thought to himself

Sapphire smiled and looked up, looking over at times "No...I still dont know who gave me this flower, I never found out" She yawned and closed her book, then looked down and over to times "I hope that they come over and tell me though, Because I would really like to thank them"

Times smiled at her and said "It had to be somepony in our group." Times thought to himself, Maybe I will tell her later. Times thought before looking forward. He looked back to her and asked "Who do you suspect gave it to you though?" Times yawned and look to back up at the cloud.

Sapphire looked over at times "I dunno...I really have no idea, my best guess would be the pony I was talking too before he almost got shot, but I really dont know" She smiled and looked down at the ground, then back up to the sky . She chuckled and looked over at times

Times chuckled and thought; Non-of those soldiers wouldn't be caught dead pickin' flowers Times looked at Sapphire and said "Have you even learned his name?" Times looked up and saw that more clouds were forming over the area. Looks like its gonna rain Times thought.

Sapphire shrugged "No...not yet at least, anyways, if you find out who picked the flower, tell me, because I wanna give them a hug" She chuckled and looked up at the sky, sighing as she saw the clouds "It was a nice day, guess it might rain...Oh well, We should go inside then?"

Times looked up "Yeah, unless I can try something." Times flew up and looked at the clouds. "I haven't done this in years... " Times tried to remember how moving the clouds worked. Last time he tried to simply push a storm cloud he was shocked by lightning. He thought until he got an Idea.

Sapphire looked up at times. She smiled, it had always amazed her how they could use there powers to make weather change, and how they could fly. Of corse, being a unicorn did have its own perks, like you could use magic to move stuff insted of holding it

Times began moving the clouds away from the fort. Times put the clouds into a ring shape around the fort.  Times flew down and looked at Sapphire "I haven't done that in years." The clouds started raining and Times looked at them. "The forest gets watered and we stay dry; Its a Win Win."

Sapphire chuckled as she looked up at times "Well done then" She smiled as she looked down at her closed book, then back up to the forest. She yawned and closed her eyes for a secend, then reopend them as she thought about all the things that had been still living in the forest
