Sapphire looked around, they had spent almost the full day walking, and she hopped up and sat down on a roof nearby, smiling as the sun went by, hoping times would come soon

 

Embers yawned as he opend one of his books that he had found a long time ago, when he was a filly on the street

The mare looked at him and walked up to him. "That is for me to know and for you to find out" the mare said. Times looked at her and said "I an't buying it. Its going to take more that Lunar armor to earn my trust." The mare looked at him and replied "I don't need to earn your trust. Well, if you don't mind the princess needs to be escorted to where the diplomacy meeting is being held." Princess Luna came walking out of the throne room and she looked allot different then she did the last time he saw her. She was now about as tall as Celestia and didn't look like Nightmare moon. She looked like Luna.

Sapphire wonderd about the streets, looking for the mare that had been talking to. She sighed as she did not find anypony, then turned and walked back to her tent. She slowly opend one of her books and smiled as she looked down at it, happy to be back reading

Times saw Luna walk away not saying anything and turned around a began walking away. The heavy armored guard stopped him "Wait, you... me... Fight pen... Now" Times smirked under his helmet "Ok if you want to lose" Times and the guard walked back to ponyville and then to Sweet apple Acres

Sapphire walked around, before having a glimce of times. She ran over to where she had seen him and sighed, she was already to late. 

 

Embers stood up and started walking over to where the other pony had been before she had left her post. He smiled as he looked around

The guard lead him to a fenced off area with a large amount of Lunar soldiers. "So this is the fighting pit...." Times said. The guard nodded before saying "Now get in" Times and the guard walked into the fenced area and stood on opposite sides. Times heard a gunshot and saw the guard running at him. Times quickly drew his sword and jumped out of the way causing the guard to slam into the fence. Times laughed and said "Ha! you really think you can beat me!!" Times flew forward and slashed at the guards back.

Sapphire yawned as she wonderd over, back to her tent where she had set up in a half burned down house. She never liked having to rely on someone else, so thats why she had joined the war

 

Embers climbed up a few buildings to get a better view of what was going on. He sighed and shook his head

The guard swung his halberd at Times and Times kept jumping back. He heard someone in the group of soldiers yell "Stop running!" Times caught the guards halberd and headbutted him. The guard stumbled back and got ready to charge again. Times flew up and the guard smashed into the fence. "You really need to think things out... and stop being so predictable" Times said. The guard yelled and pulled out a flintlock firing it at Times. The shot could be heard from all over ponyville. Times dodged the bullet and landed. Times grabbed his sword and slashed the guard's helmet.

Sapphire half fell over when she heard the shot, she grabbed her sword and rifle and started sprinting over to where she had heard the shot be fired from

 

Embers yawned as he looked over and saw too ponys fighting, it wasnt much surprise that one of them had used a gun

Times looked at the guard and said "If your going to use a gun at least try and aim it first..." Then guard began to get enraged and hit Times with the side of his Halberd. Times was thrown into the fence by the blow. When he got up the guard was charging again. Times quickly got into a defensive position and got ready to take the blow. 

 

 

Outside the fenced area was a chalkboard that said bets.

it said:

The Guard: 60 votes

The Pegasus: 4 votes

Sapphire walked over to the arena, and laughed. She looked over and placed her own bet on times, knowing full well that he could beat the other pony anyday he wanted to

 

Embers threw a blanket over himself and looked over to see how the fighting was going

The guard smashed into Times and Times fell to his knees. The guard laughed before grabbing Times by the throat and choked him. Times struggled until he just passed out. The guard dropped Times and a soldier said "We hav..." The soldier was interrupted when Times got back up. "Next time you choke somepony... make sure they're dead." Times said before flying up and tackling the Guard. Times smashed the guard through it. The soldiers on the other side scrambled to get out of the way before Times broke through it. Times spit some blood onto the guards face and limped away from the unconscious pony. The soldier once again said "We have a winner!"

Sapphire chuckled, feeling good even though that she had knowen times would win. She got all of her bits and walked over to times with a grin on her face "Hey, good fighting" She said with a laugh

 

Embers shook his head, wondering how somepony could be so stupid, and just walk away like that

"Thanks..." Times said breathing heavily. He had a cut over his left eye. He had sprained his front left leg. and his right wing had lost allot of it's feathers and was bleeding. He had pieces of wood stabbed into his armor that didn't penetrate his skin. There was also a little blood coming from his mouth.

Sapphire sighed and shook her head before runing over to get some bandegis from her tent, then running back and wrapping one around his arm "You shouldn't get into fights though, were all working for the same cause here" She said before turning around, looking at times

"I never stand down to a challenge, and those fights are just ways of test authority. If I would have lost or turned down the fight. He could have become your superior  and I would be stuck on guard duty..." Times said before looking at his arm. "Thanks..." Times said. He put back on his helmet and looked at her.

Sapphire shrugged as she looked over at times wing "Yeah, just dont die, you are by far one of the best amoung us, so we cant have you die" She said with a shake of her head as she looked back up to times

 

Embers closed his eyes, getting a little rest before setting out down the roof

"Thank you for not wanting me to die... even if its just because I'm good..." Times said as he limped. Times kept his wing under his cape to cover the bare spots where the feathers had fallen off. The pain almost made Times want to pass out but his body wouldn't let him.

Sapphire grinned when times said that "Dont worry, I have other things that I want you too live to, although your fighting sure is one" She said with a smile as she walked over to times tent "You should get some rest, you need all the sleep you can get after your in a fight"

"Okay.." Times said before going in and laying down. He set his helmet next to him and looked outside the tent. "Well either way thank you for caring" Times said to Sapphire before closing his eyes.

 

(Meanwhile back at the arena)

 

The guard had regained consciousness and limped to where Times and Sapphire had walked to.

Sapphire smiled, she was going to walk back to her house and put down her sword and rifle, walk around a little bit. She looked at times for a little longer though "Aye, You have saved me a few times, so its the most I can do" She said with a smile as she turned around

Times smiled and closed his eyes. He couldn't really believe that one of his squad members actually cared for him... Times opened his eyes and sat up. "Sapphire..." He said looking outside the tent. He was going to tell her the truth about the flower. He had kept it from her for too long now.

Sapphire stoped and turned back around "Yes times?" She said as she looked back over at him, wondering what he was going to say to her

 

Embers yawned as he climbed down from his roof top spot, he yawned as he shook his head, smiling as he looked over at times

"Remember when you asked me if I knew who gave you that flower..." Times said pointing at the flower. "and I said I didn't know... Well I wasn't that honest with you. I know who gave you the flower." Times said as he looked at the rainbow colored flower. Times had a small frown.

Sapphire blushes "Oh, really? Heh, Guess Ill give you a hug" She said with a laugh as she walked over to times and hugged him, then took a step back "Its a really nice flower, still is surviving even after being out of the ground for so long" She said with a laugh
