Sapphire looked away from times, times had not spoken in awhile...She sighed and looked around, not really knowing what to do or say

 

Embers looked down, he was waiting for something to happen, something soon

Times looked at Sapphire and looked back up at the stars. He thought he should say something to Sapphire but didn't know what to say. He sat back up and looked at her. He smiled at her and looked back at the pond. There was a small fish in it. He smiled at it and watched it swim.

Sapphire smiled back, but it was a sad smile. The war had taken everything from her, and it would keep on takeing. She leaned back and looked up, not really knowing what to do

 

Embers yawned, he leaned back up to the tree and waited, waited for them to do something

((Sorry for not posting for a long time. Because I'm going to be lazy can the next post please give me a run down if something major happened?"

Atlas awoke in the forest. He had been there for a while eating plants and drinking water he purified. He checked his ammo. Ten shots left... He would make them count. The few times he had fired was against a Maticorn and two poor Luna recruits that strayed too close to his makeshift camp. He had buried them nearby in the road and put their dog tags on their wooden crossed he made with rope made from plant fibers. Atlas thought. He didn't know who to side with. He couldn't stay in the forest forever. Well he could if he wanted to, je had the skills but he didn't want to live out here. Atas checked his weapon. He cursed the fact Lunar troops carried different ammo then his weapon could use. He had tied a knife tot he end of his rifle to act as a bayonet. It wasn't pretty but it worked. He had to find out what was happening out there. He left his camp and made a mental map of where it was.

(so far the Lunars had left the camp to go and save the fort and Ember is causing trouble... that is pretty much it. Am I missing anything)

Times looked at her and said " you ok, you look alittle down." He was concerned on the inside but looked emotionless on the outside.

Sapphire turned to him, she saw the same face she always saw...one that did not care. She sighed and looked down "Yeah, Im fine...Just thinking, infact" She looked down at the book she was holding, tears welling up in her eyes

 

Embers sighed, they were getting SOMEWERE

Sides or not he would help the Lunar army a bit in the fight for the fort. He grabbed a cloud and pushed in with him as he went int he general direction of the fort. After a short flight he found the thing. It appeared to be able to put up a fight but if the generals called in the 40 pounders that place wouldn't stand a chance. He placed the cloud just above the fort. By some miracle the soldiers inside didn't notice. Atlas nestled himself in the cloud and waited.

(we are 18 miles away from the fort)

Times saw tears in her eyes and  his emotion of concern began to show. He frowned and said "Don't cry" He looked at her and wiped away her tear. Times hated seing ponies cry. No matter who they are, he has even spared some Celestials because they bursted into tears.

Sapphire looked away, she could see times slowly starting to crack, but she sighed "Its...its OK...Ill be fine" She sighed and looked up at the night sky

 

Embers chuckled, they were getting somewere, he just needed times to crack a little more, then he could make sure of something

Times looked at her. "Are you sure?" He asked with a concerned face. He stood up and walked around her so he could look her in the eyes. "don't cry please." He said with a frown. Times thought to himself please stop crying, please stop crying. He saw her looking up and look up seeing a falling star fly by.

Sapphire smiled "Yeah..Im fine" She sighed and got up, walking a few feet away before pulling out her book, she opend the 1st few pages and started reading

 

Embers chuckled, he had seen enuff. He darted away, moving from tree to tree as he went, getting away from the camp

Times face went back to showing no emotion and looked back at the pond and said nothing. He watched the fish swim and made ripples to guide the fish. He set down the stick and let the fish be. He stood up and walked over the a small patch of tall grass. When he was younger he would always love playing in the tall grass and looking for insects.

Sapphire sighed and looked at times, then back down to her book. She smiled as she read her book, thinking about when she had read it, and all that she had done before the war. Of how she had a good friend

 

Embers set up a tent a few feet away, thinking about his book. He pulled it out and looked at it

Times thought to himself. maybe once for old times sake Times got low and crawled into the grass patch. It was void of animal life. Times sighed and walked back out. He couldn't even do the things he loved anymore. Thats the second huge thing the war has takenn from him.

Sapphire smiled as she saw times crawl into the grass, she wonderd what time it was, and she starting to feel tired. She yawned and looked down at her book, not sure how much longer she could stay awake

 

Embers settled down and closed his eyes, happy to have done something

Times looked at Sapphire and saw her yawn. He walked over to her and said "You getting tired." Times looked at her. "I made sure that the mares are seperate from the stallions so there is still an empty tent." Times said pointing to the empty tent. He looked at the fire.

((Time to interrupt a sentimental scene))

A thick cloud cover had developed over the fort. Ever since the war began the pegasi had stopped doing there job and weather from the Everfree had spread out into the warzones. It looked like it may rain by the time the fight began. Atlas took flight and flew over nopony's land. He needed to think. This whole thing had just torn him apart. Maybe he should just go to the Griffon Kingdom and live there. His friends would take him in. No... He needed to fight to end this war. For peace! He keep flying until he saw a small fire and tents. Strange. It was all alone. Time to investigate. He dived down and landed behind one of the tents. He peeked up with his rifle at the ready to stab and/or fire. Hey... That pony looked familiar.

"Put your hooves up. Don't pull anything. Turn around and let me see your face. I'm not going to hurt you"

Times turned around and pulled out his flintlocks. "I won't be the one getting... oh its just you." Times said putting away his flintlocks. Times looked at the stallion and put on his helmet. He put down the face guard and kept his hoof on his flintlock, just in case the stallion choose to go back with the Celestials.

"Good. It is you" Atlas put his weapon back on his back. "Just curious what was down here. My family is fine. Your troops captured the place intact thankfully. The fight hasn't started over there yet" Atlas let out a huge sigh and sat down next to the fire. "Why did this war happen? Can't it just stop. I don't care who wins anymore! I've killed before this war but... It was justified. Here it just feels like murder... All those young colts just out of school getting killed out here. Half of Celestia's army is below twenty!" He put his hooves in his face in anguish.

Times looked at him. "Celestia doesn't care who dies she just cares that she stays in the throne and the ponies stay dominate over every other race. Luna wants Equality between all races, no matter if its Zebras, Buffalo, Griphons or Dogs she just wants equality." Times said looking at the fire.

"I'm all for equality. I've got friends of all races. What is Luna like? On our side the propaganda pumps her out like some evil warlord out  to kill us all or put us into slavery or something like that..." Atlas looked at the fire. "What's your propaganda say? About Celestia I mean"

"We see Celestia as a tyrant that doesn't care for her soldiers or civilians." Times said looking at Atlas "Luna... she is a kinder then most ponies think she is. I was actually one of her personal guards before I became a regular. When the war took everything I loved from me, she gave me a place to live, She gave me food in my stomach and only asked me to fight for her. I wanted revenge because when the Celestials found out I was selling weapons to lunars... They burned down my house and shop. Killing my pet and leaving me alone." Times teared up under his helmet.

"It's okay, friend" Atlas patted his back with his hoof. "A lot of soldiers in the army are out for bloodthirsty bravado. I've lost some friends to this war. Celestia isn't as bad as she seems. I've talked to here once or twice back before the war. I was an explorer then. I went out into the world finding old artifacts and such. A lot landed in the royal museum. From what I gathered from my few talks with her she sees like a decent pony. She certainly doesn't hate the people. Or that's as it seems... Let's get off this topic. I've decided to help you in this fight for the fort. I can't let ponies get massacred foe or not. *Sigh* I've killed my former general... I'm going to snip from a cloud during the fight. I won't kill any enlisted though. Those colts are out for patriotism, they don't know what they're going into. The officers though. They do know about this whole thing. I'll try to take out the higher up ones. They don't care who lives or dies. Just... If any of those younger ones are captured treat them right. They are just brainwashed with propaganda and bravado" Atlas continued to look at the fire thinking about his choice.

Times looked at him "I have always treated those who surrender right, Because they did everypony a favor and didn't try to fight back." Times threw another log into the fire. Times whispered something to himself as he thought about all the colts and fillies he had to killed. "do you want to know something.... From what I have seen I discovered something, When the rich rage war... its the poor who die. You know what I mean?"

Sapphire shrunk back into the shatows, away from the 2 who were talking. She went and sat next to a tree, looking down at her book and back up to the 2 talking
