SnipSnap 432 March 4, 2014 Share March 4, 2014 I've just done a quick survey where I work ( a school) out of the 20 of us still here, one person has heard of Tara Strong, and nobody's heard of Ashleigh Ball! Now you're just determining the fame and popularity of Tara Strong and Ashleigh Ball only by people near you? That isn't right, because just asking "Oh, have you heard of Martin Freeman (or whoever)" to your friends doesn't equal the total amount of people in your state who heard of someone. 3 All credit goes to Kyoshi

True but even if there was a legitimate consensus for the fact that the actresses aren't well know, I really don't think it proves anything. Not too many random people off the street would know the name Tom Kenny but you can be damn sure they know SpongeBob Squarepants and would notice if his voice changed.
Puddlejumper 1,648 March 4, 2014 Share March 4, 2014 (edited) I've just done a quick survey where I work ( a school) out of the 20 of us still here, one person has heard of Tara Strong, and nobody's heard of Ashleigh Ball! That may be the case, but if you got a list of characters she has voiced and asked if people knew any of them, I'm sure you'd get many yes responses. Then ask how they would feel if Patrick Swayze or Angelina Jolie voiced that character in a movie. I'm sure not too many would enjoy that notion. Not too many people know the voice actor's name unless they are serious about the franchise, they know the character. How many here know the name Richard Horvitz? Guess what, that's Invader Zim and there would be some very unhappy fans if you replaced him. People not knowing him doesn't mean they don't know what Zim sounds like and are okay with anyone voicing them just because they could get Morgan Freeman to do the voice. Oh! Another example! I saw people complaining about Sweetie Belle's voice being different recently, not realizing it's just Claire growing up so there is going to be some difference. People notice these things, and speak their minds when upset about something. Now this is a different case since it's the same VA, so people were fine once they realized the whole "getting older" thing. If they had replaced the VA, we would have seen riots. Alright, I really can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not... but if you're aren't being sarcastic, that kind of movie would certainly shut down the entire MLP series. ShadOBabe 19,016 March 4, 2014 Share March 4, 2014 (edited) Isn't that not far from EqG in the first place? It really isn't. Lauren Faust I believe is a fan of the Magical Girl genre. As I said more like sucker punch! The mane six with kung fu skills and automatic weapons! And as I said, in a sarcastic fashion, that won't bring in the kids. Or sell dolls. It might bring in the bronies for the lawls, but Hasbro want MLP to appeal to kids first. mars 4,863 March 4, 2014 Share March 4, 2014 As I said more like sucker punch! The mane six with kung fu skills and automatic weapons! Yes. Because the target demographic of little girls really want to see their six favorite colorful ponies blast each other to death with machine guns. Sounds like a jolly fun time, let's kickstarter it.

mars 4,863 March 4, 2014 Share March 4, 2014 Is there really such a big difference in using magic to blast someone to death ala king Sombra? Yes! The little ones won't automatically think he died. He could have been sent away with the blast, vanished to another place, etc. Of course, us bronies know, but not the little kids. However, if you shoot someone with a gun, there's no question they're dead.
SnipSnap 432 March 4, 2014 Share March 4, 2014 Is there really such a big difference in using magic to blast someone to death ala king Sombra? Yeah. Turning a show about love, tolerance, friendship, and ponies into a violent and bloody action film which doesn't fit into the show anywhere, because THE GODDAMN MLP SHOW IS FOR KIDS. PARENTS WOULD SUE HASBRO IF THAT MOVIE EVER CAME TRUE. 2 All credit goes to Kyoshi

When sucker punch was released here in the UK it had a rating of 12A, which meant that anyone could see it as long as they were with someone over 18. That had plenty of guns but no bloodshed. Also there were quite a few kids in the audience. Edited March 4, 2014 by My Fluffy Unicorn Beautiful, Stylish, Fabulous AND evil! What more could you want?
