Tabe 216 March 20, 2014 Share March 20, 2014 So its obvious that EG was not very popular amongs the fans. So the question, is a sequel a bad idea? I belive Hasbro knows how the movie was recived by the viewers, so they must have something really special planned for Rainbow Rocks. What are your thoughts? Do you think the mane 6 will go through the portal or just twilight? And if so, what reason would there be to return to the world? I have a few theories but the most interesting is this: Celestia said that by travelling to that world could cause instability, now what if the two worlds "Merged"? Ponies suddenly waking up as humans and humans suddenly waking up as ponies? I know it sounds kind of messy but think about it, it would be pretty cool. But as the name is Rainbow Rocks, I don't think thats the case... I am a brony, and I am proud
SveciaDash 364 March 20, 2014 Share March 20, 2014 (edited) It was a complete succes for Hasbro so not making a sequel is kinda stupid on their side as a buissnes. I personaly liked EG and I will probably like rainbow rocks aswell. EG was good for what it was. It could've been ALOT worse While Hasbro is seen as satan by most, they do care about bronies a little bit. We did get derpy back ya'know Rainbow rocks is not going to have bronies in mind. Thats pretty obvious. But do expect small hints as in ''we know you're watching bronies *brohoof*'' just like EG had. Remi 1,309 March 20, 2014 Share March 20, 2014 Well Hasbro is ruining the show, so imo every move they make is a bad move. EG was a more of a creation for profit, not admiration, such as this sequel will be. By the profit being more of a priority, the movie will be shit, and end up in the "Never Again" box in this fandom's attic, just like EG. 1 Take Me Out. Colorful Respawn 399 March 20, 2014 Share March 20, 2014 I'll go see it just for grins, but I like EG as well and will probably like Rainbow Rocks. I already hate the toy line of it though. deadprofile 1,122 March 20, 2014 Share March 20, 2014 as far as the targetted demographic goes, EQG was smashing success. A sequel was very much expected. It seems like they are making homage to Jem and the Hologams and well as KISS in my book....Kid's like musicals....and instruments....I mean...it's like K-On met High School Musical......which is scary to realize/see.... Tabe 216 March 20, 2014 Author Share March 20, 2014 Lots of feelings here. I am going to watch it but I won't let it ruin the series for me. Highschool movies sells like butter. And I have to admit, there is a special feeling to it, but its too unreal, even for MLP. I can just hope there will be a "real" MLP movie with actual ponies in it. But for now I'm pretty pumped for the next episode. I am a brony, and I am proud
Mightymags 1,053 March 20, 2014 Share March 20, 2014 I don't think it's a bad move at all. It's important to remember that bronies are NOT the primary audience they cater to. So when you say their fans weren't thrilled I'm assuming you were referring to bronies. I completely agree, the movie wasn't that great and personally I won't be in a hurry to watch the sequel. However, according to my 4-year-old little sister it's the greatest thing since goldfish. The movie was a huge success in regard to their target audience, so giving them another one is a great move on Hasbro's part.

SveciaDash 364 March 20, 2014 Share March 20, 2014 I really don't think another Equestria Girls movie is necessary. I didn't like the first one to begin with, so I doubt i'll even consider watching this new one. A bad movie doesn't need a sequel. It wasnt a bad movie for what it was suppose to do, so ofcourse they will make a sequel, and probably a third and fourth movie aswell https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_m-Ez3W5h4&index=1&list=FLLNWmj4RL7o54o2Txvsj8Ag
Lost Profile 644 March 20, 2014 Share March 20, 2014 mlp i feel is going in the direction that sonic went through in 1999. sonic the hedgehog, a very popular rival to mario. had a few tv shows, one for the more little kids, another that was amazingly awesome, and then came Sonic Underground. a new idea that was VERY different from the original idea lots of fans hated it while a select few, like myself, absolutely loved it. EqG is like sonic underground in more than one way. i liked the first movie so im going to give the new one a chance.
SveciaDash 364 March 20, 2014 Share March 20, 2014 I get why alot of people didnt like EG. If you watched it to see matrix plots and sick action moves and stuff, sorry to dissapoint. SveciaDash 364 March 20, 2014 Share March 20, 2014 It was a bad movie in my opinion because it left a lot to be desired for me. I felt it was a missed opportunity. If more sequels are mad, I will be sure not to watch them. How was it a missed opportunity? If Hasbro wanted to make something that was specific to bronies they would make a real MLP FIM movie. With a real plot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_m-Ez3W5h4&index=1&list=FLLNWmj4RL7o54o2Txvsj8Ag

The music I am not worried about at all...It's the plot...or most likely solid lack thereof and animation (the facepaint from KISS) in which I'm making my refrences... As far a kids shows go, Daniel does an amazing job, and even in EQG he did pretty good (gotta admit it).... The human designs are meant to challenge Monster High...so there's not much to argue there from a marketing standpoint. Bad move or not, I am going to watch it, and most likely buy the DVD of it....The Equestria Girl's spinoff/addon/whatnot is not the best part of what the FIM universe has given us, but I will accept it as it is a part of the FIM franchise and take the best from Rainbow Rocks never the less. 1 "In fire iron is born, by fire it is tamed"

Im not critical of the show that much so the plot doesnt matter that much to me, I was releaved when the photoshop plot in EG was resolved in 10 seconds... because I dont like when bad things happens to the good guys https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_m-Ez3W5h4&index=1&list=FLLNWmj4RL7o54o2Txvsj8Ag

SveciaDash 364 March 20, 2014 Share March 20, 2014 I don't think they should have made the characters into humans. THAT'S the opportunity I feel they missed. That alone ruined it for me. I feel Hasbro could have made a movie with the actual pony characters along with an epic plot with a villain or something. A full feature film would indeed be better than the human versions. Lets just hope they actualy do a pony film aswell, It would probably make them enough money to make it worth the time, so cross your hooves https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_m-Ez3W5h4&index=1&list=FLLNWmj4RL7o54o2Txvsj8Ag
Scootalove 10,689 March 20, 2014 Share March 20, 2014 I wouldn't say it was a bad move, the thing is we should all know that Hasbro is doing this for money. Whether it's a bad move or not, they will benefit in some way. Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
