Why do people say that Celestia is weak/cowardly?

One person said that an 8 year old boy getting raped was justified because he's a disgusting boy, another said she'd rather save on pig than prevent 9/11, another praised someone for defacing a statue to make it look like Rainbow Dash, another said that all sex is rape if it's a white guy, etc.

 

Tumblr can be nice if you stick in the fandom sections(even then, I got death threats from a Whovian) but the other sections are insane

A lot of it stems from how she just doesn't involve herself in half of the almost world ending events that happen. Major piece to the only WMD my country has? Better send this new princess. Queen of the changelings in my throne room? Better wait 5 minutes to challenge her. Crystal Empire under attack by a super unicorn that can make an entire city vanish? Better send the new kid.

So while I do not agree with the sediment that she is weak, I can see were people may get the idea.

I still don't get why she didn't just take a half hour outa her time, and go steal the element of magic back. Would have taken her all of like 20 minutes, and then she could have sprinted back through the portal.

I don't elavate her as a god, she can be killed by an RPG . Nope, having your leader fall is a huge morale loss and considering that Chrysalis was just barely able to take down Celestia, if Celestia won that beam battle, the Changelings routing is a nice possibility. Not to mention Celestia would be very helpful against the Changelings

@, No it just seemed that way because Chrysalis was surprised to take her down. You can't say "barely" when we don't even know how much power more she had and haven't measured either's power. 

And honestly if it's a huge morale loss i don't mind. Having her thrown of her pedestal is something i ALWAYS wanted. I also liked the fact that the elements of harmony weren't used. I never liked cosmic reset buttons. But Shining Armor and Cadence were nothing else than another form of "Cosmic reset button" that i hated for it's absolute plot-convenience.

For once i would like to have the protagonist have a victory of wits over the enemy like what happened in Magic duel! That was awesome! Twilight bested her without needing to use the elements or a Cosmic Guardian! HA!

Enough crap from the comics, they are only canon if you want them to be. Besides, if Celestia had a friendship with Good Chrysalis, then she really is a coward for not fighting someone just because they look similar. Imagine if someone was friends with Discord's identical twin brother who was a good guy and then refused to fight Discord. No, Celestia being friends with Good Chrysalis just makes her a pathetic weakling who judges based on looks

She said they are canon if you want them to be. And that's the point, if the comics are canon, then Celestia is indeed just a coward who can't do her own dirty work because she's afraid of appearances

@, Sorry but i can't say "barely" if you haven't measured them. Figuring since we can't you can't say that. Let's settle for one thing... we don't know how powerful Chrysalis originally was and how powerful Celestia is. We know she moves the sun and Celestia moves the moon and the stars but if we count it that way then Luna is more powerful than Celestia cause the sun IS a star. Regardless Celestia just stood there when Discord returned and she got easily captured by VINES. Needless to say Celestia is either too weak or simply doesn't want to fight. And if Chrysalis had only absorbed one stallion's love imagine what she could do if she had more. Fact is Queen Chrysalis is potentially the most powerful villain of all if left unchecked. Reason why she and her changelings were sneaky. It seems Changeling army>Pony Army and if you mention they weren't prepared for a surprise attack that's a big lie... they were... and specifically they put a shield and were ready to guard the castle. Regardless of what Celestia and Chrysalis did with their battle ultimately the changelings proved superior. This is not to be contested... they beat them fair and square. And as far as i can see the changelings weren't powered by any source of love.

Fun Fact:How come Celestia didn't think she was the only one who could open the door when the mane 6 rushed for the elements?

Why didn't she go after them first? Also... if she realized she was losing when the beam was coming towards her end then how come she didn't move away? Why did the rest of the guards stand idle? Why did Twilight and the others just stand there and watch? Where was she when Queen Chrysalis made that boring and long bragging exposition about her victory and her changelings?

Where was Luna? How come she didn't notice or know anything?

Why did she treat Sombra as a test to Twilight if Sombra's dominion had Equestria-wide consequences? What did she do when Nightmare Moon returned?

I guess those questions fly off the window right?

Needless to say i have a whole load of reasonable questions that lead me to rightfully questioning Celestia's capabilities of handling her own problems.
