Part of the appeal of MLP to me is that there are no humans, we're such awful creatures and there are enough stories and cartoons and fandoms involving people. And given the fact that in EG Twilight had no idea what human beings were or how to use her hands and walk upright, I don't think we exist in the FIM/G4 universe outside of that movie.
