I'm Syntax, and I've come here to the MLP Forums to better connect myself to the MLP fanbase! I've always been a passive part of the fanbase, never really doing much in terms of expressing my love for the show. Now, 4 seasons in, I've finally decided to join a forum! In real life, I'm an aspiring high-school musician/composer, with big dreams for the future. I love music with a burning passion, and I hope to be a professional composer one day. Despite being a fan of MLP since Season 1, I've never really focused my work on anything MLP related (partially because I wasn't confident in my skill to compose publicly, until recently). But now, I'm gearing towards actively composing for the fanbase. I've only started, and it's already a lot of fun! I'm hoping to make some new friends here, and to be a bigger part of this wonderful community. See you around! -Syntax Oh, and for obvious reasons, Octavia is best pony. It's interesting you like Octavia, I was seriously trying to figure out whether or not Tavi played Cello or Double Bass ( My Father and Brother both play bass, so I had a personal interest . ) I tweeted the question to Ingram and actually got the response back that at the Grand Galloping Gala she was in fact playing an upright Bass . But in my head canon, I imagine that Octavia is a professional Cellist but can also play the Bass pretty well; and was just asked to play Bass at the GGG for whatever reason. Just thought I'd share given your fave pony . Anyway, enjoy your time here ;and feel free to send me a PM if you have a question or just want to chat. My best friend is a cellist, and her and I have played in an orchestra together for years. While strings are currently not my forte (I'm more of a brass player; started with trumpet), I still am in love with the beautiful sounds the stringed instruments can make. I'm hoping to expand my knowledge of instruments to the string family one day. Also, while on the topic of Octavia, I find it curious that her cutie mark is a Treble Clef, though she is popularized with playing a bass instrument (Cello or Bass).
