Sobori 46 April 17, 2014 Share April 17, 2014 Okay what are you having trouble with and how can I help? Try taking a picture of one of the cannon ponies and over the body draw circles. Also there are hundreds of reference sheets and things online.
Dattebayo 2,850 April 17, 2014 Share April 17, 2014 Eye-trace ponies (plop yourself in front of a picture of a poneh and draw by occasionally looking at the picture), nothing is a better reference than the actual show. The hardest parts are usually the mouth/nose/muzzle/whatever-the-f*ck... Also, body-circles are usually bad advice for some, lest they become too reliant on them. Try different methods out and see which one fits your flavor better. ^Click for my Deviant Art^ You truly are the Rosa Parks of not understanding what r34 is. Castle Bleck 19,376 April 17, 2014 Share April 17, 2014 (edited) I suggest learning how to measure distance. Even if you know all the guidelines, you can still **** up the proportions if you don't know things like "how" and "where." Anneal 2,197 April 18, 2014 Share April 18, 2014 Use a compass for the muzzle as it is really hard and i struggled That's the case for mares, though you can choose to be a bit more liberal for stallion muzzles; some make them squarish, others make them the same as a mare's, and a few others just make their own style. CavyShy 169 April 18, 2014 Share April 18, 2014 (edited) The body is fairly easy, but the muzzle is, yes, sometimes hard. I always use a light pencil first instead of starting out with the ink pen. And if you're really serious about drawing ponies and think it's something you'd like to explore a little more, remember to find your own style. Most DeviantArt users or those interested in art don't try to copy the MLP ponies exactly, they add their own personal touches. It's what makes their drawings likeable and unique. :3 Edited April 18, 2014 by CavyShy *The Cavy Queen*
Midnight_Melody 75 April 18, 2014 Share April 18, 2014 This is what I used to learn how to draw ponies -> http://www.deviantart.com/art/Tutorial-How-to-Draw-FiM-Style-Ponies-290650111 Tutorials are a wonderful way to learn how to draw step by step.
