Cherry felt a sort of heavy pain in her chest, "did...did the black cloak die?" She asked. Uncomfortable with calling her former group black cloaks. She knew the other circle members weren't bad ponies. But she had to pretend they were. And why? Cuz she had run away from it all and was now dealing with the huge backlash of being in the middle of a fight she had helped start. Why was she here? She had strayed from the path that she had chose and in less than twenty four hours everything had changed. What did that say about her character? Her convictions? Uhg. @,

Golden nodded solemnly and turned the body to golden dust. "He's dead. I really didn't expect that booby trap to work." Golden said, sounding surprised. She closed the curtains and laid back down on the couch. "What are we doing Blossom? We're running away from Sombra because of a filly. And all because we felt guilty about leaving her there." Golden whispered to Cherry in case anypony was listening.

Cherry shook her head, "I don't know. Honestly I don't. But I loss all since of life years ago. I just do this sometimes, make a choice that changes my life. Ditch school and start fighting robbers in the Everfree, sure why not sounds like fun! Fall in love, change my name, and marry a changeling after a week of knowing him, yep great choice Cherry. Join a rebellion to overthrow the government and resurrect a long dead king! Not insane at all." She was pacing now. "I just do this. My life is a blur of choices that I don't think about until it punches me in the face and leaves me in tears!" She sat down hard, "This is no different, but, I think it's one of the more admirable things that I've done. Which is good I guess." @,

Golden looked at Cherry weirdly before shaking her head. "Wow. I'm going to go check on Tulip now. She's been in there for a while." Golden said to her as she started walking towards the bathroom. She gulped and opened the bathroom door. "Tulip, honey. You okay in there?"

Tulip looked guiltily at the adult walking into the room and grinned. "Hi." She said nervously, quickly putting her hooves beneath the stream of turned on water and washing them. They were covered in suds as just seconds before she had been trying to blow bubbles with the hand soap, but only succeeded in making a bit of a mess. "So, where to now?" She asked batting her eyelashes and changing the subject. @,

 

Cherry just lied back on the floor and stared at the ceiling, ya pour your heart out to a pony and ya only get a 'wow'. She sighed, story of her life.

Golden grinned and walked over to Tulip. "You were blowing bubbles, weren't you? Doesn't matter. At least you're clean now." Golden smiled at Tulip and turned to go out the door. "Come on Tulip. It's Cherry's turn to wash up now." Golden told her. Tulip still had that grin on her face from before and followed Golden out the door. At the lounge, they found Cherry lying on the floor and looking at the ceiling. "Your turn to wash up Cherry. Found Tulip blowing bubbles with the soap. I'll explain why I said 'wow' when you come back."

Cherry nodded and trotted into the bathroom. She winced when she saw the multiple scratches on herself. She decided to take a quick shower. She shrugged the cast off her leg and limped into the tub, turning on the running water and scrubbing some of the caked on blood off her fur. Than she walked out and gave her mane a quick brush and made her way int the main room. @,

Golden looked up as Cherry walked in. "I'll just get some stuff and then we'll get out of here." Golden said solemnly. She got up and left the room to go to her bedroom. Grabbing a couple or bags she packed up a few things; mainly toiletries and a few blankets and jumpers. She trotted back in and looked at the both of them. "Ready to go or do you want to do something else?" Golden asked them.

Cherry gave  small smile, "Well, you were going to tell me what the 'wow' was about." She was a bit more perky as she walked over to the sink and popped another painkiller from the first aid kit. "I was wondering if it was good or bad. She hauled the bags onto her back and stood by the door, ready to leave at any time.

"Oh yeah. When I said 'wow', I meant that you are impulsive until something happens to make you change your mind. Something tragic like your husband dying, for example. I meant the 'wow' aa a good thing l. That's all." Golden told her. She looked at Tulip and smiled kindly. "Ready to go Tulip?"

Cherry smiled at this, wondering when the next spur of the moment decision would happen.

 

Tulip stomped her hoof almost playfully, "fiwst, tell me where we're going. I really want to know." She said as firmly as a seven year old could.

 

Cherry just shrugged "It's a birthday surprise, how does that sound?

 

Tulip frowned, "fine, I'm ready." She said pulling her luggage together. @,

Golden giggled a little at Tulip's frown and lead them out the door. "It's going to take a few days to get there but I'm sure we have enough ground on the bad guys to get there safely." Golden said. She looked behind her to make sure that Cherry and Tulip were following. She adjusted her bags and walked towards the Torttingham exit that lead to Ponyville. Golden had placed the bags containing both sets of armor inside her own saddle bags for aesthetic reasons.

"KayKay!"Tulip grinned, she giggled a bit. Tiredness made her giggly. She would have to sleep at some point. She stood and looked out the door, "are there any bad guys outside?" She asked,

 

Cherry gave a little smile, feeling her awareness begin to wane with her lack of sleep, "We'll be fin hon. She led the filly out the door beckoning for Golden to follow. @,

Golden followed them out the door and let out a small yawn. She followed them towards the station but she shook her head. "We're walking to Ponyville. Sorry." Golden apologised. She figured they had enough ground on Sombra's army to risk walking there. "It'll only be for a few days then we can rest in a motel in Ponyville." Golden told them. She knows that there's no way they can walk for three days straight. "We'll take breaks along the way if we get tired. Sound good?"

"Right. Let's go." Cherry Blossom said determined. The group began their long walk to Ponyville. The sun was high in the sky as they came to the small town. Tulip had fallen asleep and Cherry had resorted to carrying her. They walked about the town staying to the shadows of the buildings and finally they came to the edge, the forest. Cherry gulped, "The palace is out there somewhere." She whispered.

Golden looked at the Everfree. She gulped and looked at Cherry and Tulip worriedly. "Apparently the palace is in the centre. More closer to Ponyville than anywhere else but still, near the middle." Golden said. She looked back to the Forest and stood still. "No time like the present, let's go."

Celestia nodded. "That is good to hear. Hopefully he'll be able to help in the coming fight." She said, glancing at Lightning. "I want you to make sure that we are ready when Sombra does decided to come here. I may also impose a curfew, but I'll have think about that."

 

Tempest nodded slightly. "I may have a few friends who can help, but I make no promises. If I'm not back in two days, assume the worst." With that, Tempest trotted out the palace and flew into the air. The bat pony then flew towards the Everfree forest.

She nodded respectfully though frowned at the idea of a curfu being put into effect. "Understood your highness, I'll try to figure something out." She then followed Tempest out fluttering into the air above him more to get some air and to assess where she was going to head. "Ponyville sounds like an idea at least... I could use a sip of apple cider and a cup cake...If Sombra comes...it may be the last sweet things I get to savor..."

 

She fluttered down to Ponyville and headed to Sugarcube corner, making sure her cape and hood was on to hide her features and identity. Was bad enough other ponies involved with the Sombra issue already knew who or what she was, the least she could do was try to keep her life in Ponyville the way it was, quiet, and safely anonomous to others.

 

"Evening Mr. Cake," she spoke to the orange earth pony, "anything new in the bakery today?"

 

"Ah good evening Mrs. Lights," he referrered to her married name of her husband Night Lights, "sadly I'm afraid not, Mrs. Cake has been quite busy with the twins, you know how they can be."

 

"Oh yes don't I know it," she giggled thinking back when she first met them. A pink pony named Pinkie she believed, was supposed to be entertaining the new twin babies when the the young filly somehow teleported in front of her. It was quite a shock, but she was happy to pick up the young unicorn and hold her while Mr and Mrs. Cake get her cupcakes ready. Good times...she thought to herself as she smiled. "Well in that case," she was beginning to say.

 

"The usual Mrs. Lights? Hazlenut chocolate cake?" He asked her happily.

 

"You know me too well..." she smiled to him, holding back her worries about the darkness to come. He handed her the small white box, cheerfully tied wrapped in a bow and nodded to her as she paid her 15bits for it and carried out in her mouth to a nearby mushroom table where a hay stack chair was empty.

 

She looked around to make sure no pony was watching her, then quietly levitated the box open along with a spoon and placed it in her hoof, and relaxed as she fed herself spoon fulls of hazlenut chocolate icing and cake, wondering how she was going to come up with a plan to help defend Canterlot and poltentially Ponyville... "I could...always get Night Lights involved..." she spoke to herself as she munched, "I mean...he's a shape shifting dragon...even in his normal form he's a serious challenge to any foe...but he can make himself bigger...smaller, stronger in any creature form...magic is his only downfall. It's not like he can...become anotehr alicorn and fight...He's got his fire and..." She sighed and felt horrible about it, "why should I get any of my loved ones involved...this is my burden..."

Sombra was growing bored with the lack of fighting. His take over of the crystal empire went through perfectly, now the only thing left was Camterlot. "Nothing can stop me now." He thought, as he noticed one of his soldiers approach him. "What is it?"

 

The pony bowed, and glanced up. "My apologies my king, but Golden and Cherry have yet to report on. We fear that they might have left the city."

 

Sombra sighed, and nodded. "Send out a search party. I want them found."

 

Tempest sighed, as he landed near the entrance of the Everfree forest. He then sensed a group of ponies nearby, and went to see why they would be here.

 

(I may or may not have either of my dragon OC's join. I'll have to think about it, though.)

Golden stopped walking when she heard something rustle. It could have been one of the many little creatures of the Everfree Forest but it could be something else entirely. "Cherry. I think there's somepony coming towards us." Golden warned her. She flicked her ears and heard a pony walking towards them. "Should we hide or keep walking and just ignore it?"

Cherry thought about this, "They could be friendly, I mean, we're just a couple of random refugee adventurers, why would somepony want to hurt us?" She cocked her head, preparing to fight if she had to and mapping out a plan in her head for keeping Tulip safe. "Hello?" She called into the distance, "You don't have to hide, we have juice boxes and sandwiches!" Best defense against the unknown: Offer food. That's how ancient ponies befriended dogs. @,

About half way into eating her cake, and feeling guilty full, a flash of an idea suddenly came to her. "What if I could transform myself into a beast? A dragon maybe?" her large ears nearly knocked the hoof off her head as she thought of it, "if i can't risk my love...then I can risk turning myself to a dragon!"

 

"No no...don't be stupid, how would that ever work?" She spoke to herself.

 

"I could look up a spell...I could visit Zecora's place for potions and enchantments..."

 

"And what then? Transform into a dragon and do what? Kill more innocent ponies?"

 

"But the Princess and Canterlot are counting on me to do my part!"

 

"What if you can't change yourself back after the math?"

 

"GAH WHY AM I TALKING TO MYSELF!" She slammed her hooves on the table, startling a few earth ponies that happened to be walking by. She squeed and waved to them apologetically, then quietly got up and trotted out of the town, heading into the Everfree Forest without conciously thinking about it.

Tempest looked directly at Cherry and Golden as he stepped out of the trees. "To be honest, I didn't think I would find anypony out here." He said. "I hope you don't mind me asking, but why your in the Everfree forest?" The bat pony then smiled slightly, hoping to comfort the group.

[Lightning Bliss 1,674]

"Stupid stupid stupid blissy..." she contiued to mutter to herself as she trotted further into the forest seeking Zecora's tree home, "brilliant let's go see the zebra about helping to transform my body for battle, great plan... " She shrugged to herself before tripping over an enlodged tree root, making her fall flat on her face...

 

"Ouch...can't even walk through a forest pro-" Suddenly she heard voices in the words...it sounded to be two maybe three ponies in the distance. Not wanting to risk it being intruders, she quietly snuck up through the vines and trees, keeping low to the ground as possible. After several intense seconds, she swore she heard the voice of Tempest...followed by what sounded like a familiar mare voice. She hid behind a tree and peeked around it, almost nearly spotting Tempest, while a group of two or three other ponies seemed to be further back in front of him.

 

"Keep it together Bliss..." she whispered to herself, her magic at the ready to neutralize any magical threats, "could just be travelers..."

Golden blinked at the bat pony. She'd never seen one before. "A bat pony?" Golden muttered to herself. She quickly cast a thermal imaging spell ti see if there were any othe ponies in the vicinity. She saw a peculiar image. An Alicorn. She seemed to recognise the shape. "There's an Alicorn nearby." Golden whispered to herself. She looked at the location of te Alicorn and cut the spell off. "Hang on a sec." Golden said as she walked over to the Alicorn. Golden crouched in front of the bushes and peered through them. Her eyes widned in recognition and she jumped back. "What the hell are you doing here!?" Golden sounded surprised at Lightning Bliss's appearance.
