"They're gone?" Tulip smiled, "That's good. I bet my daddy gave them a real scare huh? I'm six years old." The filly said proudly, cuddling up to Cherry's mane, her crystal fur shining in the setting sun. "But, I'm gonna turn seven in a week. My daddy says he already bought my presents. And that this year I can choose the flavor of cake." She snuggled her teddy bear and said "Bear bear thinks I should get chocolate flavor, but I'm thinking of vanilla instead. What do you ponies think?"

Cherry's heart broke and she stared in despair before hugging the filly closer. "Vanilla sounds good." She squeaked, questioning her choice to go to war at all. @,

Golden sighed and slowly got up. "They're gone. All of them. I think your daddy did give them a good scare. Vanilla sounds good to me too. Is it alright if Miss Cherry and I talk alone for a moment. You can cover up your ears so that we won't leave the room." Golden asked Tulip. Golden needed to sort out this issue with Cherry before things derailed even further.

Tulip gave a little pout and crawled from Cherry's lap, "I know Bear Bear," She said to her teddy, "I don't like it when grown-ups have private talk either." She covered her ears, pressing the teddy up to one ear so it couldn't hear either and she sighed.

Cherry got up and patted the filly on the head, before limping to the other side of the room and looking at Golden Flames, "What are we going to do with her?" She asked sadly. @,

Golden looked at the filly. She seemed cute with her ears covered up and holding her bear close. "I don't know. I have a feeling that her dad is dead and that she won't be able to handle it yet." Golden whispered. She closed her eyes and sighed. "We have to take her with us. There's no other choice. We'll have to leave the circle as well." Golden then laid down on the floor and looked at the filly despondently.

Cherry gave a nervous nod, "I agree that we have to take her with us, but where do we go? I doubt they would show mercy if we went to Canterlot. And Sombras forces would crush us if they knew we had even considered leaving. We could go back to my house in the Everfree, but we couldn't stay, many of the guards in the army know where I live. We would have to drop off the map, hope the army would think we simply died in the fight. We could stay with somepony who's not involved with the battle." Now she was just rambling off ideas.

Golden looked up at Cherry, then at Tulip and back again. "We can't go to Canterlot, we can't go back to Sombra, we can't go to your house or mine because most of them know where we live, we could go to Trottingham, Manehattan, no. Can't go there. We can't stay with either of our families ... Damn this is hard to figure out. We could hide in the Castle of the Two Sisters ..." Golden was rambling ideas too but rejected them just as quickly. "Where can we go to drop off the radar?"

Cherry thought about this, "I'd say there's a twenty four hour window where we can sneak into our houses and swipe our stuff without the army comming to look, they are way too disorganized to notice two mares missing. And actually, the old castle sounds perfect. Nopony would suspect it. We can figure out what to do from there."@

"It's decided then. The three of us will go to the Castle and swipe most of our stuff along the way. But first, we rest to get as much strength back as we can before going." Golden said uneasily. She really hated leaving the circle but encountering Tulip changed all that. "That's what we'll do." Golden repeated. She raised a hoof and felt her face, feeling the scars that marked it. "This mug will be unrecognisable now because of the scars. Your one, not so much. We'll also have to get rid of our cloaks." Golden told her. No sense leaving the circle if they still had their cloaks.

Cherry nodded, "Right. Oh, and, I think when the time comes we should give Tulip a proper birthday party." She frowned at Golden, "And also, the first chance we get, the first medic we meet, you need to be fully healed." She almost felt guilty for getting out of the battle with no more than a broken hind leg and a slew of scratches, she wished she knew healing spells. "One more thing, I think this may be our last chance to back out. Do you really want to do this?"

From across the room, Tulip, with her hooves still covering her ears yelped in a sing-song voice, "Cant I uncover my ears now guys?" @,

Golden nodded. "We should give Tulip a proper birthday. Thee's no way I'm backing out of this now." Golden said with conviction. To show she meant it, Golden took off her cloak with her magic and threw it out the window to flutter in the breeze. She winced as she got a good look at her body. "I think I may need a medic more than you but yes. I'm definitely in this." Golden repeated. She walked up to Tulip and patted her on the head to show that she can uncover her ears.

Cherry too shrugged out of her cloak and smiled. This seemed to be her life, split second decisions that changed the coarse of everything. She saw her leg for the first time, unnaturally twisted near ninety degrees, her other leg had a long slash on it that was caked with mud. But she sighed and limped back over to the filly, who smiled up at her.

"Whatwe gonna do now?" Tulip asked.

"We're gonna get away from here, to a place were the bad ponies can't find us, OK? How about you go pack a sleeping bag and some clothes, maybe some toys too?"

"KK" The filly said, then she noticed the scars and bruises on the two mares, "Mommy has a first aid kit in the bathroom, it has lots of band aids and those icky pills that makes her headaches go away. Should I bring that too?" she asked, a worried look in her eyes. @,

Golden smiled at her. "That would be lovely. Thanks." Golden said to her. She can't believe she was deserting the circle but she has to so that this filly can stay alive. She squeezed her eyes shut and some tears managed to be squeezed out. "I'm going to go and lie down. Try to recover some of my strength." She told them. She walked over to a second sofa in the room and laid down on it.

The filly grinned and kissed Golden on the head "Here," she said, putting bear bear next to Golden, "My teddy always makes me feel better." She held up the bear and spoke through it, "Don't cry Missy, I'll be your friend!" She put the bear down next to Golden before rushing too her room and digging through her closet for her sleeping bag.

Cherry smiled at Golden Flames, "You're brave for doing this, I think it's the right thing." Then she went into the bathroom and collected the first aid kit. She pulled out a store brand pain killer and offered it to Golden with a cup of orange juice from the fridge, "Here, this will help." She said. @,

Golden smiled at Tulip and when Cherry came back, she levitated the orange juice and pill. She placed the pill in her mouth and quickly drank the orange juice. "Bleh. Mixing a pill with OJ isn't as great as everypony thinks it is." Golden complained. "Tulip's a sweet filly. Who's going to tell her about her father? And when?" Golden asked her hesitantly. She managed to stop crying but she had no idea why she started crying in the first place.

Cherry shifted, "well, I don't know that he is dead. He probably is, but I think form now on we keep our spirits high an say that maybe one day we will find him," She bit her lip, "But if we do have to tell her, it shouldn't be today, we should give her some time to wait and adjust and gain perspective. For now we just need to focus on keeping her alive."

Hooves were heard in the hallway, Tulip was dragging along a big bag. "I found this," she said, "it's a camping kit, with a flashlight, and a sleeping bag, and a nature guide, and a little tiny tent that's shaped like a ladybug! And it's all pink." She said it very proudly, than giggled, "is that good?"

Cherry smiled, "very good." @,

Golden's eyes nearly bulged out of her head as she looked at the bag. but once she heard the list of things that were in it, she calmed down. "That's great Tulip. Did you pack whatever else you needed?" Golden asked her, making sure that the filly had everything she wanted. She smiled at the filly and gave her Bear Bear back. "Bear Bear missed you and he did help out a lot. Thank you." Golden said kindly. She looekd at Cherry and mouthed, "We'll talk about it later. Much later."

Cherry nodded, adding to her list of things future Cherry had to deal with.

Tulip grinned, and giggled, snuggling the bear "well, I guess I should bring my toothbrush, and my manebrush, and some dresses." In no time at all she had gathered all the essentials, she walked back into the room, sporting a much more light weight saddle bag, "How long will we be gone?" She asked, "My birthday is next week, so I need to be back for my party."

Cherry gave a small smile, "Oh, don't worry about that. Me and Miss Golden are gonna get some rest OK? You should too, we have a long trip planned. We'll leave here in an hour or two. Sound good?" She asked the filly.

Tulip gave pouty nod, "k, I'll wait that long. Oh wait," She ran to her bedroom to gather more stuff.

Cherry sighed, and looked at the setting sun, "We should leave when the moon goes up. One hour sound good to you Flames?" @,

"An hour sounds good to me Blossom. She'll expect us to bring her back in a week. Can we really do that?" Golden Flames asked her. She winced as she moved a hindleg. She looked at it and found there to be multiple lacerations as well as all over her body. "Jeez. That Alicorn packed quite a punch. I was to busy feeling pain from my face to feel any pain on the rest of my body." Golden said despairingly. "Question: Does the name Lightning Bliss have any meaning to you, Blossom?"

Cherry thought about this, "I've been living in Changeling country and hermiting in the Everfree practically my whole life. Hardly a time I could mix and mingle with foreign politics. I think my husband mentioned that name before in one of his political rants." She gave a bittersweet smile and shook off the burst of emotion that came from talking about her love, "but no I'm not to familler with the name. Also, I don't think we can get her back by the end of the week, this place will be a war base by then." She shook her head, "she's our responsibility now." @,

Golden nodded in agreement. "Agreed. It will take at least a week to get to the Castle anyway, if we're walking. If we're taking the train then at least a couple of days. Pity you aren't familiar with the name." Golden shrugged and winced. She laid her head against the sofa's armrest and looked at Cherry. "You'd better get some rest too. Who know how long it will be before they figure out we're missing." Golden told her as she closed her eyes.

Tempest sighed, as he landed in Canterlot. It didn't feel right being here, knowing what Celestia and Luna would do to him should they find out about his secret. He didn't know what to do, and simply began to wander around the city.

Sombra smirked as he trotted through the crystal palace. "Soon, we shall take Canterlot, then nothing will be able to stop me." He thought.

@,

After several minutes of sulking, and a silent wave to her husband in the far distance, she jumped lightly off the cloud and headed towards Canterlot. She landed just outside the castle grounds, where she spotted Tempest soon after. A part of her wanted to run up to him and tell her what she done, wondering if she should have him through her in prison or not for her dark acts she committed... She knew her magic of peace merely reacted to protect her...but a part of her felt that her own anger gave it a nasty punch that she should have controlled better... Regardless her guilt was surging...

Before she walked up behind him, she secretly told herself... "The next time I run into that unicorn...or any of her friends...I'll...let them do what they want to me...its more then what I deserve.." she stopped her muttering just as she came up next to Tempest, his eyes and face seemed to be concetrated on another time and place.

"Tempest?" She asked him, "are you ok? Last time I saw you, Sole had tossed you aside and...are you ok?"

Cherry nodded and left the room, hoping to let the mare get her sleep. The house became quiet, except for the sound of Tulip digging through her toy box.

Cherry went to talk to Tulip, "Hey sweetie, whatcha doing?" she asked motherly.

"Looking for Miss May, Bear Bear's baby." She pulled out a floppy toy puppy plushie from the box of toys. "Here she is!" She cuddled up to it, "Bear Bear wouldn't want to leave without her. Do you ponies need a bag to carry stuff in?" She batted her eyelashes.

"Actually yes." Cherry said sadly.

"Here," Tulip said digging out a backpack from under her bed and handing it to Cherry. "You can put the first aid kit in it, and also, we should make sandwiches too, whenever daddy took me camping, he always brought daisy sandwiches, and juice boxes, and cookies!"

Cherry nodded and in a matter of seconds, the two were creating a mass of sandwiches and putting them in plastic wrap, packing them up in the backpack.

Then the front door opened. Cherry's eyes bugged, hoping that the door opener was Tulips mom or dad, but doubting it. In a panic she whispered to Tulip, "Hide, it might be the bad ponies."

Tulip gasped and nodded, taking cover and holding her plushies tight. Cherry went to investigate. Two of the circle members, whom she recognized as Surefire and March, stood in the living room. "Oh, hey boys." She smiled, "What are you doing here?"

"Greetings sister, long live the king." Surefire replied with a bow.

"We're scouting the houses," March said, "we're recruiting able bodied ponies in the kingdom and arresting those who cannot fight, or who resist. Do you know of any ponies living here?"

Cherry shook her head, "It's just me and sister Golden Flames, the residents must have ran. We're resting here until nightfall. The battle was hard on us."

March nodded, "do either of you need healing?"

"Y-ya, Golden Flames got beat up pretty bad, and well," She limped around in a circle showing her twisted leg, "This hurts a lot."

March nodded, "Right, I'll heal you two. Surefire, search the house."

Surefire drew his bow and nodded.

Meanwhile, Tulip was crouched in the pantry, fearing for her life. @,

Golden's ear flicked when the door opened. She slowly opened her eyes and wondered if it was nightfall yet. "Nope. Not nightfall." Golden whispered as she saw both sister Surefire and sister March walk in. She kept quiet and hoped that they wouldn't find Tulip.
