Should I bother going to BronyCon?

I've bought a ticket for one day on Saturday, but to be honest, I'm having second thoughts about going. Should I just sell my ticket and just have a day out in Baltimore instead?

Last time I was in Baltimore it sucked. The city was pretty boring, and if you bought a ticket why not go? I mean, if you really do love rarity, you'll go. How else would you buy plushies of her?

I've been to a few cons (none of them pony related though) and they were lots of fun. There will be a huge variety of things to do there, so you certainly won't run the risk of getting bored. Just go, you already paid for the damn thing.

There was an incident at Babscon though thats kinda shaken my faith in the fandom. That's my reason for not wanting to go!

Which incident specifically? There were a few floating around as rumors I saw, but they all turned out to be BS.

As for rumors of pedophilia and other creepy goings-on, it's all bogus. Such accusations have been flying for years, all of which were hoaxes perpetuated by people with grudges or those who just hate bronies and want to make them look bad.

BABSCon is a new convention. BronyCon has been going since 2011 and is both financially and logistically sound. I attended in 2012 and 2013, and will be returning this year. Should you find yourself in need of a guide or just some general information, I'd be glad to help you out there.

 

This convention is a very large social event, the largest in the fandom, and my experiences there have been nothing but positive. A handful out of the thousands I met struck me as being jerks, and nearly everyone I encountered didn't mind chatting with me like an old friend. Last year was great in that I wasn't exactly going alone, I was going to meet up with some people I already knew from this forum, and that made it even more fun.

 

Go to BronyCon and make your own judgements about it. I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself.

Also been the past two years (& going this year) and it's near impossible to not have a good time. Definitely the con to attend if you go to any at all. Not sure what you'd do in Baltimore instead...it's a pretty run down city.
