gaming PC gamers, mind giving me a helping hand here?

So, as you guys know I am gonna build my own PC after using laptops for years, yay! However, even though I am currently buying the parts I have some questions still.

  • If I am gonna overclock my processor to 4.5GHz, how big of a power supply should I get? I already bought a 550W PSU from Rosewill, but will be returning it as it doesn't have Japanese caps and evidently I will need at least 600W for an overclocked Intel build; however, I am going for an AMD FX-6350.
  • Speaking of which, what motherboard should I go for it? From what I understand, the motherboard is one of the most important parts of the PC and I shouldn't cheap out on it. Right now I am looking at either the Asus M5A97 R2.0 and Sabertooth 990FX R2.0, but have also considered the M5A99X EVO R2.0 and M5A99FX Pro R2.0 as cheaper alternatives on the AMD 990X/FX chipset.

Any input would be appreciated. I am really looking forward to building this machine, but since I am a newbie to system building I do not have the greatest idea of what I'm doing.
