TheMarkz0ne 962 May 20, 2014 Share May 20, 2014 I am going to sound ungrateful. But given how the world currently is with money and the fact western civilization is reaching its inevitable collapse. I am sick of being told the following. Go to work and pay your taxes like everyone else Be grateful you have a job We all need to go to college Everyone gets debt*boo hoo boo hoo* I don't care anymore and honestly I'm only in college to avoid paying my family rent. I don't make much money and I'm surprised I'm not in the red with all the bills I pay to the ratio of what I bring in a week. I am angry because my cousin is a human resources director and he has a 4 year degree in HR and accounting(wow intense work). He has caused so much trouble for my parents company. I am not blaming him only, it's everyone, including me. My cousin gets paid $35 an hour at 27 and he needs my mom(owner and administrator) to compensate for his work ethic. He is only still working here, because his parents are owners of %50 of the company. I am making a poor wage for clicking buttons. My cousin does what? Clicks buttons and learns simple codes that I can learn without a degree that will put me in a lifetime debt. I am telling you that I can do what the dime a million HR director can do without a 4 year education. I can learn HR in a month. I mean I'm surprised there is no degree for breathing and being alive. They might as well do that :okiedokielokie:
Frith is Magick 1,471 May 20, 2014 Share May 20, 2014 (edited) The degree is the new high school diploma. It's not about learning anything significant, it's about thinning the number of eligible applicants in a flooded labour market. Even as the population grows companies are trying to reduce the number of workers, advancing technology has made this possible, so not only are jobs getting harder to find, the standards are getting lower. Additionally, how picky is a person going to be about employment when they're @$$-deep in debt? It's not about the education, post secondary matters for the $50,000 piece of paper at the end of it. I'm no conspiracy theorist, but The Machine is real, even if there is no orchestrating entity. Everything seems geared towards putting people (except for the rich) in debt and keeping them working at lower and lower quality jobs. There will always be unpleasant jobs that need doing, but when the standards are lowered across the board then there is a problem. It's funny, for a supposedly free society, it seems like there is an overwhelming pressure to sell ourselves into life-long servitude. Well, as the old saying goes: "Arbeit macht frei" There is no life long servitude. We only allow this BS to continue. The machine is controlled by a few number of people, there is no Terminator 5 happening in reality. The rich need people because they want people as collateral. If worse comes to worse. I'm leaving and my "debt" aka criminal BS loans can go and suck it. Everyone should get up and take violent action. I know it's extreme and aI'm not advocating murder. But we need to pressure the controllers and put them where they belong...With us! Because we're all human beings and just because some conmen got lucky over hundreds of years ago doesn't allow them to destroy us. They only own us, because we became lazy, passive and idiotic. Talk is cheap, freedom is expensive. Rich people may not consciously be arsewads, but when you think only in terms of dollars, you forget that there are people involved. Rich or poor, everyone looks out for numero uno, but at the same time their power makes them a crushing force. On one hand it all seems like a load of bull, but forceful redistribution of wealth is theft, no matter who does it or what their justification is. The problem is the Western mindset as represented by capitalism: "get to the top, it doesn't matter who you f**k over on the way there", except only a select few are able to significantly screw so many people. Discordian 6,015 May 20, 2014 Share May 20, 2014 (edited) Higher education's purpose is to give people knowledge without companies specifically having to waste money on training people. If they know what they are doing they can be hired and adjust to that specific work environment. Higher pay comes from the necessity for someone with that specific knowledge on a deeper level. Anyone can do a little paperwork but if you don't understand that paperwork or where it's going then you're doing more harm than good. That's why we need the degrees. Of course you can argue what degrees are necessary and whatnot but the bottom line is that while standards for employment are lowering that still leaves room for the people who are good at their job for companies that still want to stay relevant instead of just trying to save some money. Oblivion 20,266 May 20, 2014 Share May 20, 2014 Just so everyone here knows, there are some jobs that pay AMAZING and require no college whats so ever, if you can get on the railroad as a switch man, then some of those guys make as much money as doctors, no joke! Colleges are a business. If they were cannibals on an island and had nothing eat, you be the next meal. They could care less about my career. They need money, because they borrowed it from big banks and those big banks got them from the Bank of England and Federal Reserve and the IMF.. So it's a joke food chain. I only agree with having engineers and doctors pass for certification of their career, since they are dealing with lives. But even doctors are leaving the industry and going private. Because of how patients are killed in hospitals and families aren't covered or comforted. Careers are just a mess. Just so everyone here knows, there are some jobs that pay AMAZING and require no college whats so ever, if you can get on the railroad as a switch man, then some of those guys make as much money as doctors, no joke! If you're offering youtube as a career, that's no longer an option. Google has cut their partners's pay by over %80. Youtube partners had their 3 years of killing a doctor's salary and I mean KILLING it! Now they are working and slaving away like we are, when their funds run out. The employees of the colleges need to be paid, they need money for campus upkeep and then there's the materials for the actual teaching. But none of that has anything to do with the fact that higher education is a way to train people without companies having to train us ourselves. Any company you could work for is a business as well and doesn't need to spend the money on training people for jobs they can hire others for who have actual experience and knowledge. Money is just a waste. Because you're letting something man made, put people into jail for evading taxes(they should be evading taxes). Also the internet is cheap and that alone destroy these $200 a piece books. Why do you think this nation is nearly $80 trillion in debt? So what do we do, just apply for more loans and not get employed and let people continue to blame us?

It's cash flow and nothing else for the companies and the improvement of life for yourself and the employees of that company who have a better company from hiring someone with the know-how to keep the company going. The state of the country has absolutely nothing to do with any of that. Edited May 20, 2014 by Discordian

Discordian 6,015 May 20, 2014 Share May 20, 2014 On the other hand, why should it matter if all involved are satisfied and happy? We don't need freedom if it will only cause us strife. There's absolutely nothing wrong with accepting your lot in life and enjoying it for what it is. There are also a lot of things that a lot of people are just willing to put up with because in their daily lives it's insignificant.

Discordian 6,015 May 20, 2014 Share May 20, 2014 What does nobility have anything to do with it? You are given the choice to take higher education, often with the aid of someone else through a loan, and then are expected to pay back that loan due to the very nature of what a loan is. You are aware from step one that if you do this you are to pay them back. There is not a moment that the consequences aren't laid bare and you chose to accept those consequences by doing it in the first place. Risk-reward. Give and take. You break the rules, you pay for it.

Discordian 6,015 May 20, 2014 Share May 20, 2014 I don't even know what you're talking about anymore. Getting our lives destroyed? It's not exactly the college's fault if people goof off in school or try to avoid their responsibilities. You act like it's not at all the fault of those who decide to go to school that their lives go to shit after going to college.
