Don't judge a book by its cover. You will truly understand it if you're just willing to read it.

Hi , I moved your topic from General Discussion to Creative Resources. It fits best in the latter as Creative Resources is the forum section for asking and giving advice regarding creative endeavors. General Discussion is the place for discussion topics that do not fit elsewhere.

That's awesome that you want to make something creative. There are many ways to be creative, not just drawing and animation. You could write something, make a PMV, voice act something, and so on. The only limit is that of your imagination.

To help you, I recommend finding something that stimulates your creative spirit. It could be anything. It could be MLP, it could be music, it could be the view outside your window, whatever gets your creativity flowing. You can do that to get your creativity flowing, and then just find some way to express that. It doesn't have to be orthodox. Just find some way to express your creativity.

I don't know if you like writing, but you might give it a try. It can be a great way to express yourself creatively.

There are several ways you could express your creativity. You could create a music video, or write a quick sonnet, or even try your hand at some longer fanfiction writing. And you can still draw, you are never going to get better at it unless you practice! There are even video games out there that allow for high levels of creativity such as Minecraft, robolox, and the new EverQuest. There are a lot of options to chose, I would suggest browsing around, and seeing what catches your interest.

The awesome thing about writing is you can always go back and refine it as many times as you could possibly want. You can write a rough draft just to get some ideas down, and gradually shape it into something that reads well and flows nicely.

Try this

I wrote this so don't like use it. get ideas from it.

“Gosh, Violet, I didn’t know there were such strong spells unicorns could know.” I panted.

“There aren’t really. With your parents being alicorns and all, I thought that only you could pull of that spell. You and me of course.” She said flipping her mane. “But that magic was the power of interpreted dance.”

“So you mean I made a powerful magic spell off of dancing? All I had to do was dance!” I shouted.

“Pretty much, but don’t be mad at me. There are magical spells based on friendship so this really isn’t anything different.” Violet Swan said as I sat down.

I don't care what pony you like because I like everypony!

The only time I give up on a project is when I know the idea behind it isn't worth it. If you have good inspiration, you should never give up on a project. You might need to remind yourself of why you started it, but if it's an idea that grabs you it's always worth pursuing.

I'm sure you can find a willing proofreader or copy editor in this forum who would be willing to help you clean up a manuscript draft.

Or you could find a writer to do a collaboration with. Maybe you could write the beats and the person could focus on drafting. That way language isn't as big of an issue and you can focus on story/theme/action beats, and your partner could focus on language and expanding your ideas.

That is actually something that I've done for self published authors, my daughters, and even a few Wattpad writers.

Helps to get your feet wet.
