Princess Lona 382 May 27, 2014 Share May 27, 2014 its very fascinating the different way every one uses to tell male from female. for me it has always been body shape. If you put a fake beard, and men's close on a woman, and have them act like a man, they still look like a woman to me. same goes for a man, I can spot a par of female hips from a mile away. but once you take away the human female body shape, it really starts to throw me off. I don't really see the pony snout as female or male looking, I had to learn that there was a different one for each, it did not jump out at me at first the way human female shape do. but that's just me (wow learning a lot about my self today) This is a perfect bit of evidence that supposed male and female behaviours are just constructs. There are definite differences between male and female bodies (when taking into account only sex and not gender). You say that if you see a woman "acting like a man", the only reason it looks weird to you is that she has a female body shape. If there were actual behavioural differences between men and women, and if, for argument's sake there were no major visible differences between the outward appearance of male and female bodies, then a female behaving "like a male" would still look weird because the behaviour would be unnatural to her. But since it's just the shape of their bodies that makes supposed gender behaviour swapping look unnatural, then that perspective is a reflection of social engineering rather than natural instinct. 6 My OC, Tabula. Grumpy Enchantress 587 May 27, 2014 Share May 27, 2014 There's no such thing as acting like a girl or boy. She is a girl and she acts like herself. Even if there is truth to social ideas about gender, it doesn't matter because personal differences are the actual thing that sets us apart, not all boys or girls do or should act the same way. This topic is pointless.

This topic is pointless. These ponies get it. Although I disagree that the topic is pointless. It's fascinating to discuss. Isn't that the point? @SolidTwilight: I would weigh in here, but I just made a long post in your other thread regarding RD's sexuality. I would just be repeating myself, so I'll leave it at that.
Jammy Jellicious 16 May 28, 2014 Share May 28, 2014 I've got to admit that when I first started watching the show, I thought Dash was a stallion but since she looks like a mare with her eyelashes and muzzle, it obviously proves that she is one but you my friend, made me lean more to the stallion side. But then again Rainbow does have a few girly parts of her personality, not just being all cool and athletic. You know like her fangirl scream? It'll be pretty awkward for a male to act like that. ~Pinkie Pie Fan Club~

Because being a boy or girl is 100% about how you act and not in any way what you actually fucking are or how you identify? Someone doesn't have to be "girly" to be a girl or "manly" to be a man, I thought this was something we all learned by the age of 5. Grumpy Enchantress 587 May 28, 2014 Share May 28, 2014 I'm not saying you're wrong, but as a first impression on a cartoon Character that might make a difference. Honestly i totally agree with you. But still, i could understand since she is acting " cool" has a rather, rough (but sexy) voice and doesn't seem girly. Honestly, in a show where everything is pink people might think she's a boy ^^ But once you know she's a girl, I don't know how you go to seeing that she's more like a stallion. Genuinely thinking she's a boy is one thing, saying that she's more like a boy than a girl and that her fangirl screams prove that she's a girl is a completely different thing.
