Revised Ponysona for My (Eventual) Analysis Videos (Edited)

EDIT: The revision from last night was edited.

 

Here is my original design of my ponysona.

 

Below is my revision.

Differences:

  1. Three-quarter view and standing up instead of sitting down. Will likely replicate the original pose later.
  2. New nose/muzzle.
  3. Bigger eyes/highlight.
  4. More saturated color for the fur.
  5. Simplified the fur edges.


As for the edits from last night:

  1. The red has been dulled a bit to make him a bit rustic. Darkened the stroke color, too.
  2. The steel gray color for his hooves has been changed to a saturated sand. As a result, there is now a dark brown stroke. The back front leg is also moved down a bit.
  3. The secondary sandy mane (behind WO's head) now has a stroke closely matching the color.
  4. Fattened the bottoms of the front hooves.


I also divided the front legs into three pieces so I can move them up and down.

Isn't that an Oxsona. Or maybe a Bovinesona?

 

Anyway hes a QT. Dunno about the grey legs, though. Sort of looks like hes being propped up by metal. Add some hair on 'um.

Technically, it'd be an "oxona," but I went with "ponysona" to keep it within FIM's themes.

 

I don't know if I'll put hair on the legs because they're finished and segmented for poses, but I can maybe make them a little lighter.

I like the torso and face design, however I feel like the legs don't quite mesh well with the rest of the body. They seem kind of disproportionately small. Just my thoughts though, rest looks great :)

In that case, maybe try to make the legs stand out less by having the colors blend more with the fur. Maybe put hooves on them. I'm not much of an artist so I can't say for certain what's best.

Hmm, perhaps I can make them a bit more sand-like.
