Callisto Ranks The Pokémon Gens! PART 2! (#3-#1)
#3: Generation Six (X/Y)
Objectively, these are probably the best games in the series. And they are really great games, with the gameplay polished to perfection, stunning graphics for the 3DS (even if those graphics cause the framerate to suffer), and they're just generally great games. Why isn't Gen 6 at number 1, then? Something just feels...empty about it. Like it was rushed. Again, great games, but they're just missing something.
#2: Generation Three (Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald)
I love these games. They just do everything right for me. Despite the hate it gets (some of which is justified. I mean, there's a LOT of water..) I love the Hoenn region. The battle mechanics were improved further from Gen 2, with the addition of abilities and natures to add more strategy and complexity to the battles. The graphics are darn impressive for a GBA game, and the music ain't bad either. However, one gen did things even better, in my opinion, than this one.
#1: Generation Five (Black/White/Black 2/White 2)
If I'm gonna be honest, these games are only at number 1 because of Black/White 2. That's not the originals aren't great in their own right, because they are; the gameplay's great, the graphics are great, standard Pokémon stuff. Buf Black 2/White 2 are something special. They are, in my opinion, perfect games. It has all the same things that made Black and White great, and more. They have a weaker story, sure, but that it's only disadvantage. They also have possibly the best post-game of any Pokémon generation, including Gen 2 Kanto! I know I didn't do a very good job of explaining why I love these games so much, but I really, really do love these games.
Well, that's a wrap. But, stay tuned for my in depth reviews of each game! Same Callisto time, same Callisto channel!
