Earth Pony magic and its uses. (Theoretical)

blog-0582822001415657591.jpgEarth pony magic is interesting due to it's nature. Unicorns can use magic through their horns to directly affect objects, creatures, and the environment around them, while Pegasi use their magic to control the weather (And theoretically to allow or help flight..).

 

My theory for Earth ponies magic, is that while mostly internalized, it can possibly be externalized to a small extent. I believe that the magic in earth ponies flows in their bodies, stimulating muscle growth. This is what allows earth ponies to be so strong naturally, I also theorize that at times an earth pony can unconsciously utilize their magic within their bodies. Potentially they could send their magic to an area allowing them to strike or push with more muscle than what they may actually physically contain.

 

Another theory I have is the externalization of magic. As I've touched upon before, Unicorns can externalize magic through their horns, and Pegasi can unconsciously do so through their hooves (And possibly their wings) to manipulate storm clouds. So going based off of the fact that pegasi can manipulate this to an extent, wouldn't that mean that earth ponies have the potential to manipulate their magic as well?

 

While they wouldn't be able to externalize it very well, I theorize that it may be possible or may have already been, used slightly. Considering that Pegasi can (Potentially) utilize their magic through their hooves to an extent, could an Earth Pony use this same method to affect something? perhaps use their magic to make it easier for a seed to grow, or to make the soil more fertile?

 

It's worth a thought, I think. :)

Your theories are pretty sound, and there is quite a bit in the show that does suggest what your saying, namely "Twilight's Kingdom" is the single episode that lends the most credence to these theories.

Niw your theory is right in the magic is internal but can be forced out...or at least partly right. It is more in the raw talent that each earth pony has.

 

Apple-Mac for example is very physically strong and has great endurance. However in speed and agility he lacks greatly, but Apple Jack is strong, fast, agial and has plenty of endurance.

 

The powere in them is dependent on what you are good at naturally and as for the outer extention to the physical magic it is based off directionality. In the apple family's case kicking trees to drop apples.

 

However the physical magic is better seen with Maud-Pie. To demolish a rock like a jack hammer would require speed, skill and brute force beyond masher.

 

This shows how the earth pony magic is more based on physical atrubutes such as speed, strength and agility. So it is dens magic requireing little to no mental understanding. Were as unicorn magic must be lurnt and treated like a living thing or an object made of glass.

 

Magic from unicorbs is divers and I can go in to more detail with you on that when you do your theory.

 

As for pegasus magic it is mostly based on one the weather and two flight however flight takes priority as the weather can happen naturally, but by having controll over it means they can make life in equestria more harmonious.

 

Othere then what I have added that both baulsters your theory and adds to it I have to say that is a brilliant theory and worthy of a 'A' in magical understanding ^_^ *hugs*
