Didn't play it as a child, even though I had many opportunities. I could never get into it. Not to mention... handhelds. :l

Despite me watching the anime, collecting the cards, and toys, I've never played the video game series since the gameboy days.

Odd I know, but your not alone buddy, that's why I'm glad to almost play Pokemon X to see what all the hub bub is about.

Yeah, you're not alone. I'm more of a Final Fantasy guy when it comes to RPGs personally. I do kinda want to play one of the games one of these days though.

And concerning parents, my dad was weird about me watching stuff like Pokemon and Digimon because of the themes of evolution. *sigh*

I didn't grow up playing it, because it came out in 1996, and I was already 28 at that point. 

To answer the real question, no, I've never played it.

I guess I grew up with it, though I was late to the party. I had not played a Gameboy Pokemon until about 2002, though I did own Pokemon Stadium 1 & 2 when I was younger.

Sadly, I never really played the games. I did collect the cards though.
