Pondah left the even bigger group to get to know the new arrival. In the meantime, he had snuck upstairs and ran a sink of hot, soapy. Although they weren't particularly dirty, it just didn't seem right to leave these towels for Sky to clean up. It wasn't his fault that Pondah used them.

As his hooves plunged into the water, Pondah winced. Once he had become accustomed to the heat, he began to rub the towel down. Trickles of filth washed away from the towels and in a few minutes, they were clean. With a fling, he hung the saturated towels on a railing above the bath and went back downstairs.

    'I need something to do...'

'Just as I thought. Sky's dealing with this huge storm he's been forced into creating. Seems awfully big though. i wonder if he'll be ok? No, he's my boss. I have to believe he can do it.'

"Ok, thanks Ember," Pondah said as he went back up the stairs to retrieve some towels. His earlier tumble had left hiim leery of the stairs and as a result, Pondah went up the stairs very slowly. When he eventually reached the summit, Pondah nipped into the bathroom and took the last two clean towels. He'd get around to laundry later.

Just as gently as before, Pondah travelled down the stairs. In the main office, Pondah placed a towel on the floor in front of Rut-Light and offered the other too him.

'Perhaps he's a friend of Mr. Sky... I'll let him in. He seems ok.'

"Ok," Pondah said quietly whilst stepping aside. "Would you like a towel to get dry? I can get one if you want." Pondah brought the white pony into the room and shut the door quickly behind him. It was warm in the office and keeping the door open would be a waste of heat. While waiting for the pony to respond to his question, another came to find.

'Where's Mr. Sky? I need him to show me what I have to do for my job. I imagine he's outside clearing the storm. I wonder why he didn't tell us where he was going. I'll see if this new pony knows anything.

"Did you see an orange pegasus outside?" Pondah asked Rut Light "He's my boss and I really need to ask him something."

A knock on the door snapped Pondah out of his self diagnostic. He looked to the others in the room and then began to move towards the door. He reckoned that, as they were busy talking, it was only fair that it would be fair if he got the door. Wrapping the duvet around him for protection, Pondah, began to slowly open the door.

In front of Pondah was bright white Earth Pony wearing a shiny monacle. "H... hello," Pondah said quietly. "What do you need?"

With the assistance of Ember's magic, Pondah quickly unravelled the duvet ball and was free. He rose to his hooves gingerly and took a sharp breath through his teeth. "It's ok," Pondah announced. "I've had worse. So much worse." Pondah took a quick look at his legs. There were no new bruises and his legs seemed to be able to take his weight.

Whilst checking for injuries, Pondah saw another pony had entered the office. "Oh, hello," Pondah said. "I'm Pondah. You're Harry aren't you?"

With the duvet still surrounding him, Pondah rose to his hooves and began walking towards the door. It was difficult seeing out from his cover but Pondah soon found himself on the landing of the stairs. He began to descend.

'I'm going to have to take this very slowly. One small step at a time. Stay concentrating...'

Sluggishly, Pondah worked his way down the stairs. He was around halfway before he missed a step and he began to tilt forwards. After what seemed like an eon, Pondah began to roll down the stairs, still encased in the duvet.

'Ow ow ow! I'll feel that in the morning! Note to self: Don't use a duvet as armour.'

The duvet ball thundered down the stairs and through the doors to the office. It skimmed a desk and came to a gentle stop in the middle of the office. "Ow..." Pondah groaned.

'Pal? How are we friends? All I've done is waste her time drying me and moving desks. That's not friendship. That's slavery.'

Pondah furrowed his brow as he tried to understand what, if anything, was friendly about slavery. He picked up the towel he was sat on and hung it over the bath to dry. A while behind Sunny, Pondah made his way out of the bathroom and moved into his room that he was borrowing.

Swiftly, Pondah trotted to the bed, wrapped the duvet around him and snuggled into it. The comfort of a warm wrapping caused a small smile to spawn on his face.

'Duvets are awesome! After accidentally trying the one in Bubble's hotel room, I couldn't wait to try one without consequences.'

  8. @@Aerodynas

Pondah's eyes were transfixed on a single point on the wall opposite him. It was all he could do to prevent himself from completely losing his bottle as his mane was dried. Even as Sunny moved away after finishing, Pondah's gaze remained fixed for a brief moment.

'See? It wasn't that bad. Making progress already.'

Slowly, Pondah ran a hoof through his mane. The bone dry strands slipped over his hoof and shined in the light of the sun. "Thank you..." Pondah whispered.

  9. @,

Caramel smiled friendly, "It'll be fine mister." The mare took the towel with a wink and then gently began to wipe down Pondah's mane slowly, the light reflecting off the wet hairs. In an attempt to make him feel a little more comfortable, Caramel tried to break the silence. "So...Tell me ah little about yourself. How'd ya find yourself here in the big city?"

Pondah took a sharp breath in when Sunny touched his mane. He let out a few short and ragged breaths before composing himself enough to respond. "I'm here on a sort of holiday," he whispered. "I just sort of picked a direction and kept going straight."

Small dribbles of nervous sweat began to make their way down Pondah's face as Sunny's deft hooves worked their way through his mane.

'Try and stay strong. It'll be ok. She isn't trying to hurt me...'

  10. @@Aerodynas

"It's ok," Pondah replied. "I just want it dried. I don't care about styling it." Pondah hopped out of the bath and set out a towel in front of Sunny. He sat on it and turned his back away from her. Slowly, he unraveled his mane-scarf until it was all dangling behind him. "Just be careful," Pondah whispered. "I really don't like having ponies touch my mane..."

  11. @@Aerodynas

Pondah shrugged before repyling. "I could use a little assistance with my mane," Pondah said. "A long thing like this can take a while to wring out and with this weather, there's no chance of drying it in the sun. If you're really desperate to help, I'll be in the bath upstairs."

Slowly, Pondah moved towards the stairs to the apartments. He was sluggish and gentle in his movements so as to stop any water dribbling into the carpet. He'd done enough cleaning today. Once at the top of the stairs, Pondah kept going straight and found himself at the door to the bathroom. He pushed it and went in. Staying slow, Pondah entered the bath and began to unwravel his mane.

  12. The rain was still pounding heavily as Pondah made the arduous trek to his destination. He made use of any protection from the rain he could find as he searched. After a while, Pondah found himself next to a sandwich shop. He swiftly entered the store and began to search for a price list.

'Well that's handy. All sandwiches cost two bits each. So two sandwiches at two bits each... I owe four bits already! Hooray for crippling debts!'

As quickly as he came, Pondah left the sandwich shop and returned to the office. It didn't take as long to return as Pondah had retained some memory of the route to and from the office. With a rapid movement, Pondah was through the door with his completely saturated mane wrapped around his neck.

Pondah grew tired of looking around the room he was borrowing and turned away. He walked back down into the main office room to see that Sunny and Ember hadn't moved or done anything new. Pondah walked towards the door and prepared to brave the storm.

"Excuse me," he said in a voice that was soft but loud enough for Suuny and Ember to hear. "There's something I urgently need to do. Don't mess anything up or I'll have to clean up again and possibly lose my job."

Slowly, Pondah edged open the door and a thunderous gale shunted it open. Droplets of rain misted Pondah's face as he pushed his way through the door. The thumped shut behind him as he buried his face in his mane-scarf.

'It's going to be hard, but I need to find out the price of those sandwiches. I'm keeping this secret. I can't have Sky trying to stop me paying my debts.'

A slow trudge was all Pondah could reach through the storm as he made his way to the nearest sandwich store he could find.

With nothing in view except a desk and his food, Pondah quickly devoured his two sandwiches. A few crumbs dotted the desk but a deft sweep of a hoof soon had all of them into Pondah's gaping mouth. He turned to see that Sky had left the building. Pondah moved towards the stairs that Sky had taken very slowly, so as to not disturb Sunny from her thoughts.

A gentle push so the door open to spotless set of stairs leading to an equally immaculate apartment.

'Oh, good. I don't have to clean here.'

Pondah searched through the rooms to find one that he could claim as his own. After opening several doors, Pondah found a bedroom. It contained the traditional furnishings of a bedroom such as: a single bed, a chest of draws and a large dresser. On the floor was a soft round shag-pile carpet, it's deep red fabric co-ordinating with the red and white walls of the bedroom.

'Not bad. It's just like my house. Except with a bed. And draws. And a dresser. Oh, not forgetting that these walls are painted and aren't just concrete and that I don't have a rug. In other words, this is just like my house but different in every way conceivable.'

Pondah returned to the main office to find Sunny peering out of a window into the storm. He also noticed Ember on the floor near her and decided it best to leave the pair alone. He crept towards a nearby desk and began to rummage through the contents of its draws. A thorough search showed up nothing but ink, parchment and quills. With a sigh, Pondah shut the draws and stepped back.

As he did, Sky returned to the office with his cargo of sandwiches. "Thank you," Pondah said quietly as he took his two. Swiftly, he moved towards the secluded desk in the corner and began to eat. The earthy flavours of the daffodil and the mild sweetness of the daisies danced in Pondah's mouth as he devoured his meal.

'These must've cost a fortune! How will I get the money to pay Mr. Sky back?'

As commanded, Pondah gently slid out from beneath the heavy desk. It hit the ground with a dull be vivacious thump. The entire weight of the desk was now resting on Sunny's back and Ember's magic. Pondah stood clear of the desk and continued to think of what to do next.

'I can still look at the apartment upstairs and think about cleaning that out. If that's good I can look at the break room. Wait! I haven't gotten back to Sky about what I wanted to eat. I shall go do that now.'

Pondah recalled where Sky had gone and by walking in his hoofsteps, went over to where he was. "Um... Mr. Sky," Pondah said quietly. "Sorry about the late reply but I don't mind what you get me to eat. If I can make a suggestion, please may I have some bread and water? I'm starting to get tired of berries and garbage."

  18. @@Marathon Glacier stayed still as she watched Lila gallop away. After a moment of stillness, Glacier slowly slid herself towards the centre of her cell. She was still facing the door when she rolled on to her back.

'Time to see how my injuries are holding up. It's going to be hard finding a way of keeping it covered with a fresh covering now that I'm stuck in here.'

Gently, Glacier began unwinding the large red and green leaf from around her abdomen. Layers began to remove and the closer she got to unravelling it, the bloodier it became. When the whole thing was removed, Glacier craned her neck forwards and took a look. A colossal wound lay across her. It was not bleeding but it was incredibly fresh and yet to scab over.

'This isn't looking good. The leaf's filthy and the wound doesn't look like healing up any time soon. How can I keep this thing clean?'

Glacier moved her hooves forward to try and re-wrap herself with the leaf. She turned it round so the clean side would be touching it and leant forward.

As she did, her eyes narrowed to pinpoints.

Slowly, she looked down to see that the wound had just reopened and was bleeding quickly. A loud scream escaped her lungs as she tried to quickly wrap herself with her now trembling hooves.

Slowly, Glacier moved towards the far corner of her cell and sat down. She kept her gaze fixed and Lila's eyes and began to think to think about the mare she had just met.

'This new pony doesn't seem like she'll be of much use. From what I've gathered she doesn't know much about this place. I'll have to find someone higher in the pecking order.'

Slowly, Pondah began to plod towards the opposite side of the room. "This is going on the other side of the room," Pondah said quietly, his face reddening from the strain of carrying the desk. A quick glance to both sides showed that Sunny and Ember were still keeping upand helping out.

'What should I do once this is done? I've been told to apologise to Bubble tomorrow and I'm almost finished here. I suppose I could clean the apartment upstairs.'

Glacier growled once again at the news of realising she was stuck being spoken to like an animal at a zoo, revealing a flash if her teeth to Lila. "I guess you're right," Glacier said in a deceptively cheery voice before switching back to an angry one. "I haven't got much to worry about. Other than... you know... waking up to find yourself somewhere you've never been before, having what was special about yourself being taken from you and not knowing why you're even in a freaking nut-house!"
