10 years later, I still think "Slice of Life" is one of the worst MLP episodes ever. :eww:

This is me, but I absolutely cannot stand fan service, and "Slice of Life" reeked of it. :Cozy:

@Woohoo yeah I'm also not a fan of fanservice (sounds so ironic XD), I also said here multiple times, one of the main reasons I think the latter 5 Seasons were worse was the fanservice, especially when it comes to the villains, Season 6 doesn't have a original villain, ends with the return of Changelings who just don't feel like the same level of threat they were in Season 2. Season 5's finale spends a lot of time in time travel to a event we saw earlier in the series twice, and Alternate timelines with villains we already saw before and Season 9 was even worse with them getting rid of a potential new villain (Grogar) and making into the final threat 3 villains we already saw before. I liked their return but not ending with a villain we could call a "final threat' was a huge letdown for me, feels so uncreative to me, it at least makes me see Season 9 as a Season that celebrates the entire series, that's why it's the less original of them all, pure fanservice and nostalgia delivery is its purpose, a legacy Season.

Season 8 for me presented great new ideas, but they tried to make the Student Six into a second group of protagonists and for me it just didn't work.

I know many don't like the 2017 movie, but for me that movie was a great example of how more original and innovative the latter Seasons could have been. It presents a lot of new characters, concepts and places and don't try to "replace" the Mane Six with a group of a new characters. The movie in overall also gives me the vibes of the earlier Seasons, I really like it.
