  1. Democracy is a flawed, imperfect system that's ripe for abuse; but I'll be damned if there's anything better. Here's hoping Britons remember this tomorrow. Go Brexit.

Yup. Tomorrow, Britain either declares its independence, or submits to unelected dictators.

Say what you want about the Krauts, at least they admit that their role in the world wars may have been less than heroic.

Or perhaps an expedition to reclaim/rebuild Canterlot. That could make a great story.

I'd really like to see someone tackle the rebuilding of Equestria. It's still be hella darker than your garden variety ponyfic.

The story also did a great job combining its universes. Granted, most of it's been Jossed since 2011, but it's impressive how well Kkat was able to make MLP and Fallout compatible.

That's why I like Littlepip. Did you know that the "grey" depiction of Pip actually comes from fan art? Kkat never describes Pip's appearance in the book. Not once.

Pip doesn't angst, she perseveres. She makes mistakes, and learns from them. She's a very strong example of dynamic characterization, and that's what drew me to the story to begin with.

Yeah, I've started reading Pink Eyes, and intend to finish it one day. Project Horizon started strong, but got repetitive quickly. I don't doubt that there are great sidefics out there, but I only really had the energy to read the original. It's a full, complete story, and I like it that way.

  13. It's interesting that people are atheist not because they believed in it in the first place...but because they had bad history with Christianity. I notice that people who didn't have much conflict with it tend to believe it just a bit more.

Historically, when people have had really bad experiences with Christianity, they've made splinter groups (Protestantism and Anglicanism for example).

  15. I'm just asking out of curiosity. Where are you on the political spectrum?

I'd normally say "nobody," but a Trump supporter pointed out to me that Trump openly advocated drug legalization between 1990 and 2011. This is kind of a big deal for me. He has since gone shaky on the issue, but I'm hoping that when he debates Clinton, we'll get more light shed on what exactly his plans are.

So, Trump has a narrow opportunity to win me over, otherwise I'm writing in a protest vote.

I see Singapore as the model economy, though some aspects are only really viable considering how tiny the nation is.

In general, I say the government that governs least governs best.

Best I can describe is libertarian right, though I'm not really locked into any ideology.

Because people change their names all the time on this site, and nobody remembers friending "Kitten."
