Long Island here. Very glad I live closer to the center of the island rather than near the water. I also expect to lose power any minute considering the noise these winds are making.
Light rain and light to moderate winds here. No appreciable damage and the forecast keeps pushing Sandy's arrival several hours later. We're not supposed to get anything severe until midnight according to the latest prediction. At this point I've lost all concern about losing power.
