  1. Looking down at his mussled mane and the various cuts, brusises, and dirt on the pegasus, he laughed, the two looking very comedic as they stood next to each other in the forest behind the apartment. "At least we're not hurt." He made a small pause as he glanced over at himself again, then said, "That much." Watching the troubled expression on her face, he too thought about his relationship with this mare. And how quickly the two were growing together. Maybe I should take it slow? Flame Runner thought, but the extra wait wouldn't be a very pleasant one. He decided to slow it down a tad bit, because fate changes quickly. Maybe she'd just disapear the next morning without a trace. He couldn't become dependent on her. It would be heartbreaking. Not until he was absolutely certain that she was the one. "Yeah, let's get going." A small drizzle began to pour on the two ponies, and by the time they rushed into the apartment building, it was pouring.
  2. Jason arrived at the train station in only a few minutes, his home located a mere 2 blocks away from where the train was arriving. It was right dab in the smack of the bustling city, which had it's benefits and it's faults, he supposed. Pulling his grey hood over his head, he stuck his hands in his pockets and walked in, passing though the train toll booth with a swipe of a bus card. The announcement came shortly after he entered, pleased that the school was providing such a good service. A small group of young adults caught his eye, each packed with their own individual items. Jason looked away from the group, hoping that they wouldn't be taking the same trip they're taking. He would be sadly mistaken. Thoughts began to circle his mind as he stood at the train station, the voices around him dimming as a plethora of questions filled his mind. Was this for real? Should he return back to the foster home? Maybe it was just a joke. He hoped the last one wasn't true. He'd been looking for an escape from his secluded world for a while now, leaving his house for days at a time just to wander the streets around town. If he wasn't near anyone, he couldn't do any harm. The only part of it though, it was eating away at him. He hated being alone, but it was either that, or a rageful fury. What choice did he have?
  3. Fire. Once a gift given to us from the gods now the very cause of my demise. It should have never left those immortal hands... The great power only leads to disaster, leaving a charred and desolate land in it's wake. Roaring waves of red and yellow, leaving no tree nor soul alive, igniting as it falls apart as a charred withering crisp. Distant memories of an average life tease my mind, a time once upon ago when this wretched curse hadn't plagued my life like a cancer. A small tricycle biking down the street of a middle-class neighborhood, a small green see-saw, squeaking as the plank rose up and down. I only get these memories in quick snapshots, much of my memory blurred out from the corruption. I do know one thing for sure though. A image of my house going up in flames. The yellow and red blaze licking up and surrounding the building, as if it was a monster that was eating it whole. There were no survivors. My entire life went spiraling downward from that moment. I became more angry. More cruel. More deadly. Even before I could bend my first flame, I was corrupted. Corrupted by the power. Corrupted by the fire within all of our hearts. I was always in an angry rage, my foster parents always afraid and nervous. During these rages, I discovered my power, able to manipulate the small candles that lit my bedroom. As I became more angry and harsh, my powers grew, able to conjure up sparks of flames and small fireballs. Heating up my hand were easy, and sometimes, even instantly catching them both on fire. The mail came in today. And there was a letter. For me. It's been a long time since I've been wanted. Might as well see what it is. - Jason Jason put down his pen as he opened up the envelope, scanning though the contents of the letter. His eyes stopped at "Renly Academy", and kept trailing downward until he saw the closing statement. He reread it multiple times, just to make sure what he was reading was true, before putting on a hoodie and slipping his journal in his backpack. Walking out the door of his foster home, he closed it behind him. He wouldn't be coming back.
  4. I'll take a spot! I haven't been writing in a while, but this would hopefully get me back into shape. I just hope I'll have enough inspiration to get me through the story. We'll see, I suppose. =P
  5. "Good Time" from Owl City and Carley Rae Jepson and "Payphone" from Maroon 5 are now on KaraokeParty. My excitement is shooting off the charts. ^.^

  6. Runner returned her comment with a mischievous smile, about to ask what she meant by "get you", but decided to leave that to his imagination. When she first began speaking, Rain looked away, uncomfortable and distressed. But when she turned toward him, her mane parting in a sea of hues behind her, his heart melted. Her sparkling sapphire eyes, her compassionate smile, the little tilt of her head as she looked up at him... Flame Runner took a breath of air, trying to calm himself as his heart thumped at a thousand beats a second. Damn... she was beautiful... And even with though those long scars on her neck, and her worn, tired eyes, she was still as beautiful as a rose on a summer evening, her flaws far from taking away from her elegance. A strange feeling swelling up in his stomach, he found no other response to her question. This pegasus, this girl... He was stuck with her now. And that may not be a bad thing. "Yeah. Together." He said proudly, a gentle smile on his lips. Breaking the mood, he chuckled, saying, "But if I were you, I'd take a shower." The red blood was still smeared across her body, making a large crimson stain on her coat.
  7. "Landlord's not here at the moment." He gave a small smirk, then trotted over to Rain. Looking down at his weak hoof, and back at the now-incredibly tall building where he had stupidly slide down, he chuckled, and shrugged. "I guess we'll find out soon enough." Seeing the other ponies scram, the injured pony supported by a friend who was limping away, he shot them an angry glance, a indisputable word spoken only to them. Come anywhere close to me again, and I'll tear you apart. But, despite the warning, they'll be back. With backup... Extending the hoof to Rain, the warm red substance covering her chest, his face took on a serious expression, his words, "Come on Rain... You could have gotten yourself killed! Those ponies are going to be back. With weapons. I don't know what I could ha-..." Flame Runner stopped in mid sentence, surprised how much he cared about this pony he just met not an hour ago. He sighed and looked away, eventually re-meeting her gaze after a pause. "... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have pulled you into this. They'll be looking for you now."
  8. No! Rain's going to get killed if I don't down there soon! Flame instantly thought to begin running down the stairs. But with his leg, he'd only be able to hop one at a time, and would take too long to reach her. Sticking his head out the window, he searched for something else to help him get down... A gutter. The white pole that stretched down the side of the building reached all the way to the floor. He'd be down in only a few seconds, and the gate that stood between the building and the forest was old and defective, the hinge nearly coming off the door. Nearly jumping out the window preemptively, he remember the blades that were resting on the nightstand next to Rain's bed. Picking up two of the knives, holding them in his mouth, he climbed onto the windowsill, power building into his strong legs. Surprisingly, the Earth Pony was used to insane jumps like these, something like this a puddle jump. Leaping from the window, he extended his hooves outward, the entire world in slow-motion in his eyes. The pipe fell swiftly into his hooves, gravity soon pulling him down the line as he began sliding down, his legs wrapped around the bottom, securing him to the bar. As the ground came rushing up at him, he leaped, his feet tucking into a roll. He had mistimed the leap though, being a bit rusty over all the years. He fell into the ground, letting out a small groan as his back slammed into the dirt. The adrenaline kept him going though, giving him the energy and the strength to kick down the wooden door, ripping it finely off from the rest of the fence. He could worry about his injury later. One aggressive pony was on top of Rain, the other two chuckling as they watched the horrific sight. Spitting the knife into his hoof, he flipped it over, and chucked it, seeing the bladed weapon sail though the air, like a graceful bird taking flight, until it successfully impaled itself into the pony's side. Letting out a blood-curling scream, the pony ontop of the pegasus fell over, cowardly crawling away on all fours.
  9. Knock yourself out. There's a whole load of them in this video. XD Stop your wining, and suck it up. -Pulls out a wine bottle, then drops a straw in it.- XD
  10. Screaming. Flame Runner woke up from his light sleep, and simply laid there, his eyes staring at the ceiling of Rain's apartment. It was a common sound in the neighborhood, but something about THAT one bugged him... It sounded so... so familiar... Where did he hear a voice like that, the Earth Pony thought, still unmoved from his position on the bed. It had to be recent, and it was a female voi- Oh no. Sitting upright, letting out a quiet groan at the burn, he looked around the empty apartment. The lights had been turned off, and the room was pitch black. Calling out into the darkness, he said, "Rain?" No response... "Raaain?" ...Nothing. "No... no no no no..." He hopped off the bed, a slight limp as he hobbled over to the kitchen. No one. The bathroom. Not a soul. "Rain!" He called out, desperate for a response. "Raaaaaiiin!" He ran to the window, where he saw a light-blue pegasus, surrounded by a group of ponies, lead by a Unicorn, his heart as black as the night itself...
  11. Peering inside the quarters where he was assigned, (more like jailed in...) it was much better compared to his cell down in the caves. It was similar to a studio, the living room, bedroom, and dining room all combined into one. The kitchen was divided from the center room with a wall, and a bathroom was in a room by itself. The window, unsurprisingly, was barred up recently, providing a landscape of the great height he was at, and all the clouds that separated him from the Earth. Bowing slightly to the Commander, a sarcastic motion, he entered the kitchen, and looked for something to eat in the refrigerator.
  12. Flame Runner usually wouldn't accept drugs from strangers, but it was either that, or suffer with the pain with the rest of the evening. He needed to get better soon. Jack was expecting his money by sunrise, and he had to gather up what little money he had to give him. Not like he had much of a choice... He already got his flank handed to him earlier, leaving some bruised ribs, a nasty burn, and a sprained hoof. Popping the pills in and drowning them down his throat with the glass of water, he let out a content sigh, knowing the pain will subdue soon. The towel came quickly afterwards, as he placed the moist rag on the side of his body. It stung, but it was going to help in the long run. Hearing Rain offer more, he shook his head, replying, "You've done more than I could ever ask for... Thanks." Lying his head down upon the mattress, he figured that he might as well steal some sleep, maybe a couple of hours enough to give him a little energy. Taking an intake of air, he relaxed, his tense muscles softening, heavy eyelids falling upon his vision as he began to sleep, drifting off into the pitch black darkness of his dreams.
  13. ((NOW I'm going. =P)) Runner, a little calmed down, replied to the Commander's question. "It was fine. But parasprites had eaten half of our southern fields. We'll need to lower the rations that each faction gets this year." "The temperature's dropping, so they're descending lower into the valley. If you pegasi would keep it at a constant temperature, we wouldn't HAVE this problem."
  14. My favorite would most likely be Remember The Name by Fort Minor. I'm not a total rap fan, but this is just so awesome, that I might just try other songs because of it!
  15. ((Keep it up Nightfall, I'll just make a quick thought post. Apparently I'm leaving later than I thought. =P)) The ponies around him talked of killing him, torture, all which didn't seem like very pleasant things... One of these involved a "stretcher", heights... He wasn't going anywhere by being here. All he achieved to do was just put himself in captivity. He relayed the message, but all of the feathers in their thick skulls must have muted his voice out. All he needed to escape was a way to stand on those clouds... then he could just leap from cloud to cloud down to the surface. Once he was on the ground, he could simply blend into the trees, the forest and mother nature as his disguise. But how...?
  16. Flame Runner watched Rain throw the blood-stained bedsheets off of the mattress, the red stains no longer fresh, and instead faded and dull. The alcohol, the random pill bottles scattered around the room, the blades... She was obviously was having a painful life. The scars on her neck... maybe... maybe SHE was the one who did it? The earth pony frowned subconsciously, having a great deal of remorse for Rain. He suddenly felt like he was imposing upon her, as if she had enough issues to worry about in her life. But he didn't have anywhere else to go... "Y-yeah." He replied, looking down at his burn which was starting to look worse from when he was in the forest. "Can I get a cold wet towel? Painkillers would help too, but I suppose alcohol would do the trick." He chuckled.
  17. Even though he tried his best to ignore the ponies, he found himself pulled out of the bed from one of the pegesi guards. Being pushed out of the jail cell, he reluctantly followed, almost dragging his hooves along as he followed the lead pony. Martin... the leader of the Earth Kingdom... and a trusted friend... A traitor? He then made up his mind. Next time Martin sets foot in his sights... It wouldn't end well for the earth pony... ((OCC: Got to go again. Nightfall, feel free to control my character up to the ambassador quarters if you need to. I probably won't be back until later this afternoon.))
  18. Flame Runner's eyes crunched up into a small brow, thinking about what Cumulus said... Martin was the role model for many of the leaders and soldiers back at the Earth Kingdom... Would... would he really do such a thing? Hook up with... with a pegasus? Discouraged, Runner walked away from the door, obviously angry. "I'm going to bed." He muttered, slipping into the covers of the bed in his cell. He pulled the covers up over his face and looked away, ignoring the other ponies as he stared off into oblivion. (Probably would be the last post for the night. =P Seems like a good time to stop.)
  19. The ambassador sighed, and read his purpose, as if off a script in his hoof. "I'm here to make peace with the Pegasi. The food shortage was simply a misunderstanding." Flame Runner started, a slight boredom in his eyes. "The food shipment was raided by a group of barbarians on the way to Pegaopolis. We didn't receive word that the shipment had not made it until now. I was sent here personally by General Sarge to make sure that message was brought here." Flame Runner turned to Cumulus, a quizzical expression on his face. "Err... What did you say?" He began, an anger beginning to boil within him like a teapot.
  20. He already missed his chance of opportunity, his eyes now fully adjusted to the torch, and with the General behind backing them up. Trotting over to the corner of the cell, he moved away the rocks from the small hole, and pulled it out, revealing the blade to the group at the front of the jail cell. Flipping the knife in the air and catching it by the blade, he handed it to Stormcloud handle first, a small smile on his face. "Don't break it. I'm looking forward to getting it back when I return to the Earth Kingdom."
  21. Aw buck me... Flame Runner thought as he heard the incoming cries from the entrance of the cave. It was now or never... Eliminate a key official of the Pegasus army, and start a war, or stay and be jailed, pausing the possibility of war another day... Sighing, he stayed his ground, allowing Flame Dancer to catch up to the Commander, his hooves planted firmly on the ground. "I told ya." Flame Runner chuckled, the pegasus not listening to an Earth Pony, of course. "I'm Flame Runner."
  22. Runner squinted again, the flame from the torch extremely bright in his face. He was losing night vision quickly, he realized. If he could knock out the torch and rearm himself, he could make a last second escape, the pegasi open for attack blind, and able to run out of the cave safely. How he was going to get out of Pegaopolis, he had no clue, but it was a start. "What names? I don't understand..." So many questions so quickly, Runner turned to the other pony, responding, "I was making a peaceful journey to Pegaopolis, in the name of the Earth Kingdom. Did no pony receive the message?" He scowled, realizing why the pegasi could have mistaken him for an intruder. He needed to check with Sarge, but he wasn't here. Just him, two pegsi, and a knife...
  23. Echos. Up the cave. Flame Runner stood up, pulling himself out of the small ball in the corner of the cell. He looked toward the entrance of the cave, but the cave tunnel had a bend in it, so he couldn't see what was happening until they were right up in his face. Quickly, he searched for a place to conceal his knife, afraid that they might discover his only means of escaping. He eventually settled on a small breach in the cave wall, near the floor. The small hole was barely enough to slip the knife in, and concealing it with a small clutter of dirt and rocks obscured it from view unless the investigator peered real close at the location. He then walked up to the jail cell door, awaiting for his guest's arrival. (Dang it! Pretend that was before you arrived. -.-) When the pegsi finally arrived, he had barely enough time to calm himself. He tried to smile, but the light from their torch was incredibly bright, his time spent in the darkness taking a toll on him. "Ow! Can you get that torch out of my face please?" He squinted at the figures in front of him, then continued. "I'm Flame Runner, ambassador of the Earth Kingdom. Who am I speaking to?" The pegasus rudely make her way into his cell, the Earth Pony backing up to make room.
  24. I've been using "XD" WAAAYYY too much today. XD
