I heard it also helps to have a Vinyl Scratch avatar. Good to see that some people still don't view friendship as a one-way street!

I don't know why but that 35 ft Orion V looks kinda cute. :3

For midsized pickups my favourite is the Tacoma all the way! I'm hoping that it will be my next vehicle.

Well as you might've guessed from my avatar, I'm rather happy to see this bus getting some attention here.
I just wanted to add a bit of a note here since I didn't see anything mentioned about this in your article. (Very nice job you did here, by the way.)
The 30 foot New Look buses used a T-drive powertrain arrangement with a GMC V6 ToroFlow engine. From 1969 to 1971 there was also a gasoline powered GMC 351 V6 engine offered on the 30 foot models.

Prevo is a fairly well-run company that makes a good product. All their service manuals for all their products (past and present) are available online, and if that doesn't help, you can talk to one of their engineers over the phone if needed. You don't see NFI or Nova offering that kind of support. (Even though Nova and Prevo have the same owner...)

My favourite engine, by far, is the Detroit Diesel Series 92. That is one amazing sounding engine. I'm not sure why DD decided to start making two-stroke diesel engines, but it sure was a brilliant idea. For an engine, they're pretty straightforward, and it made them extremely reliable. Series 71 was also a nice engine from Detroit.

Door interlocks are fun. :okiedokielokie: Major source of air leaks, if you've got a faulty R14 or quick release valve they can drain all the air out of the system rather quickly. But of course the drivers will never discover these because they will never have the rear door open for very long. The interlock only engages with the rear door opening. Also, if equipped, the door master switch will disable the interlock function.

We're getting 25 XN40s next year. I can't wait to see how these buses are in person. Our 'newest' NFI buses are from 1998.

Van Hool. Now there's a company I know absolutely zilch about. What are their buses like?

I'd like for someone to explain to me why the parking brake applicator is backwards on transit buses only. That screwed me up a lot in school because the 'right answer' would always be pull to apply/push to release but in transit world it's the other way around.

Between these manufacturers, I'd rather the MTA send some of their oldest stuff to Complete Coach Works for electric conversion. Some crosstown routes like the M42 are very short and have low average speeds, making them perfect for such implementation. It costs less than ordering an all-new bus and extends the life of their old fleet, making them run like new again.
Depends on what 'old stuff' you want to use.

I can see someone complaining about how ugly they look. Or some truck coming along and taking it out. But that's just me.

I'm not gonna lie, that is one weird looking bus. Almost as odd as a Cobus.
Anyway, I'd hate to be whoever has to come up with the cash to replace those batteries. ._. Would it not make more sense to imbed those charging station into the roadway?

A school bus is just an oversized van with air brakes.
That being said, these Crown buses are expensive. Being corrosion resistant, NFI could stand to learn a few lessons from them.
Also, Series 71 is an amazing engine. Almost as good as the Series 92. ^^
Nice post. Thanks for putting these together.

Okay, thanks for all your help. ^^

Nope, this is the one I have: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4383#ov

If you have to remove any hard drive cages to help it fit, then do so. You should remove any unused hard drive cages anyway to help with airflow.
I am more concerned with the location of the RAM sticks. It's very close to where the GFX slot is.

First thing that came to mind, actually. It's a pretty good card for the price.
Well thanks again! My only concern is it looks like it'll be a bit of a tight fit at 9 inches long. :/

AMD R9 270 should be good then.
Wow...you were able to figure it out that quickly? Thank you! Brohoof to you, good sir. :3

That's because these new Windows operating systems are resource hogs. Anyway, my username on WoT is D40LF. Y'all can feel free to add me. I run tiers 3 to 9, and hopefully 10 soon.
It's been many years, how's it going MLPForums?

This is just where all the old farts of the forum have come to convene and reminisce, isn't it? I remember your name but not a whole lot else. :3 I was surprised to see you pop up as a view on my profile, I guess this sorta explains why~. I see I'm a bit late to the party but welcome back nevertheless. Hope your time back has been going well so far. ^^
