  1. Your Result: Literature Nerd
Does sitting by a nice cozy fire, with a cup of hot tea/chocolate, and a book you can read for hours even when your eyes grow red and dry and you look sort of scary sitting there with your insomniac appearance? Then you fit this category perfectly! You love the power of the written word and it's eloquence; and you may like to read/write poetry or novels. You contribute to the smart people of today's society, however you can probably be overly-critical of works.

    It's okay. I understand.
    Result Breakdown:
    89% Literature Nerd
    61% Musician
    59% Gamer/Computer Nerd
    42% Social Nerd
    11% Drama Nerd
    9% Anime Nerd
    4% Artistic Nerd
    0% Science/Math Nerd

Makes sense to me. I'm not much of a musician though...

  2. I’ve been interested in (fiction) writing all my life, and I write because for me it’s fun and gives me a feeling of accomplishment. It’s a form of venting for me at times, and also a bit of proof for myself that my creative side hasn’t gone completely dead yet. :P As for writing about ponies in particular, I write about stuff that makes me happy, so the connection just came naturally I guess.  Now if I could just get one of my stories finished…one day…>_>

  3. I think that since most of us are outside of the show's intended demographic, normal is really irrelevant at this point. If you wanna get that stuff, then by all means, get it. For me this how has been all about what makes you happy, so it makes perfect sense to me. Personally, if I had money to spend right now, I'd probably get myself some shirts, posters, and such. But there's no room in the budget for that right now. :/ I do want to find some stickers though... >_>

  4. Disturbed: Ten Thousand Fists

    Awesome

My favorite album from them is a close one between "Comatose" and "Awake", but I think I'll pick Comatose, just because it has more songs I like more I guess tongue.png.

Awesome. What'd you think of Collide?

    TFK: Welcome to the masquerade

    Red:  Until we have faces

    Doubly awesome!

    Nice music tastes guys. Personally...

TFK - Phenomenon (but I love all of them!)

Red - Release the Panic (but again, I love all of them)

Disturbed - Indestructible (It's so hard for me to pick favourites sad.png )

    Lacuna Coil - Dark Adrenaline

I like my music too much :P

  5. I'd definitely agree with you there. I have been and still kind of am in the same boat as you, and every time I see shows making those sorts of jokes it disgusts me because it really isn't that funny. It's a serious issue that way more people suffer from than what's even accounted for. But just most cartoons in general are awful these days...again that's probably one of the draws of MLP vs other 'kids' shows. ;) I still get a good kick out of the old ones every now and then.

  6. I've only been a fan of the show for a couple months, before that I was just like you. I had only just briefly heard of MLP, and certainly didn't have any idea of what it was like or how large the fanbase was. I actually thought it was a bit stupid. But eventually curiosity got the best of me, and I watched my first episode, S1E1, and well, I couldn't be much happier with my decision. :) I would recommend giving it a chance. It just makes me happy...simple as that. Even just poking around on these forums, especially after I've had a rotten day at work or school, lightens my mood.

  7. Most people think that I'm going to school for engineering or computer science. I don't know why. I'm actually going for commercial transport mechanics. My personality absolutely does not fit with anyone else there though. I also hate math, physics, and all those sorts of subjects. I liked English and Geography throughout high school. Go figure.

  8. Well I have a few, but it terms of what I could realistically afford and drive every day, this is what I want to get:

  9. Well, I've only been a fan for a month or two, so I haven't exactly had a lot of time to get bored. But for me and many others, it's an escape from reality. When I have a rotten day at school and/or work I can come home and even simple things like browsing these forums or working on my fanfic make me happier. :) I can't see myself getting bored of that anytime soon, even when I quit my current job once I'm finished my schooling.

  10. Now I'm not gonna get too weird here...but...assuming a place like Equestria is real, then I guess it would depend on the pony. In most cases I would highly value the friendship of any pony, but beyond that, there`s only a couple I would consider. Maybe Twilight...but I think since she`s the pony I`d be most like, a serious relationship seems a bit pointless to me. Now Dashie on the other hand (or hoof)...I would seriously consider her. ^^ I could see us both benefiting immensely from each others personalities. It might be a bit weird at first...but over time I'd get used to it.

    (Yay I'm a muffin now :P)

  11. At the moment I'm just a humble cashier making minimum wage at RCSS. I'm pretty good at my job (for being a guy, as many people have made a point of telling me <_< ), but I can't stand all the stupid people I deal with. Nothing ever really changes either, and I don't like that. However, all hope is not lost! A couple months ago, I started taking a heavy duty/commercial transport mechanics course at the university here in town. In short, I'm gonna become a transit bus mechanic. I've already secured a work practicum with our local transit authority, and an apprenticeship there is a very real possibility. This has all just happened in the last few days and I'm very excited to see how it'll all unfolds. :D

  12. Hiya, welcome to MLPForums! So, you're from Canada, eh? You've never been across the border?

I've lived in Canada all my life but I have visited the US on several occasions, all for vacations. Mainly to the western US.

Hi derp Im DerpyHoovesDerp I Welcome you to EQUESTRIA fellow friend want a muffin>

    I live in Canada too~~

Ontario? Nice. I was born and lived half my life in the St. Catharines area. :)

    Thanks for the welcomes all!

  13. GeneralDirection here! Brand new to the forums, and relatively new to MLP: FiM altogether. I think my journey up to this point has been somewhat similar to others. I first heard of the show through a friend of a friend, but initially dismissed it as a 'show for little girls' like so many others have. A couple of months later, I noticed several of my favourite YTP (If you don't know what it is, believe me, you're better off that way...) creators using the show as a source. So I decided to do some research on the show, and what I found surprised me. Then I started to watch the first episode...and here I am today! Finished all three seasons in two weeks. Could've finished it faster, but like most people I have school and work to go to...and I happen to value what little sleep I do get! smile.png After finishing the season 3 and watching numerous other fan videos, I wanted to try to join a community such as this one where I could share my interests with others without being insulted or rejected. I think you get the drift.

Just a quick bit about myself...currently living in Kamloops, BC, Canada, 19 years old, male, never moved out of Canada but I have moved around it quite a bit! I have a wide range of interests (besides MLP obviously tongue.png) that range from hiking, biking, and skiing to web design, computers in general, music, and writing. Yup, you guessed correctly, I absolutely love writing fiction, so you can bet that I will be working on something cool for those individuals that enjoy fan fiction. ^^ Don't ask for a timeline...I just started brainstorming a few weeks ago and laying the groundwork has always been the most difficult part for me. dry.png  I'm sure I'll be seeing you all out on the rest of the forums soon! biggrin.png /)
