Me: *believes we need to bring back and update the Articles of Confederation, essentially simplifying the Constitution and decentralizing the government*
Guy I'm debating with: "THE AOC FAILED! WE NEED BIG GOVERNMENT! *tries explaining why, because political science major, fails to make convincing argument*
Me and Other Guy Who's Supporting My Argument: *laugh in libsoc and minarchist respectively*
The moral of the story, children: Don't say that "Big Gov good!" to people who have been pushed around by the state their entire lives (and in Other Guy's case, whose family has had government jobs in the past). Your arguments can and will be used against you.

What bothers me more is people who say it's bad when big government doesn't fit their agenda and then go full out fascist when it does.
*Cough Cough* the State's Rights people that were up in arms about gay marriage when it had very little to do with states' rights yet applaud Trump when he wants to strip states of their right to their own response to COVID-19... *Cough Cough*
