English isn't exactly an easy language, even for speakers of other West Germanic languages because it developed so differently. The isolation of the British Isles from mainland Europe helped that "developed so differently" part, otherwise it'd probably be something like Dutch and German.
I know, but German is partially too complex. There are so many things even native speakers do wrong everytime. And at the same time it allows us to make sentences that are very long and explanatory without starting a new one.
