  1. Bass cocked his head, pondering the stallion's suggestion. "Uh..." He began. "I always have openers play for me, but it's always electronic... What music do you play? I didn't think you did electronic music..." He stated, still confused at the stallion's enthusiastic idea.
  2. Sonny was still a bit slow to react to her outburst, courtesy of the half bottle he drank. "Huh? Uh yeah, um... haven't gotten to really go anywhere yet... I just went up to my room and worked *hiccup* a bit on my next record." He tilted his head at her a bit, wondering why she seemed so afraid, or worried. "But yeah, just got back from Mexicolt. Awesome tour. Brought up a few specialty bottle of fine tequila from there, too." The pony added, then looked around wondering when their food would arrive.
  3. "Uh yeah, no I'm just visiting here for a while to get away from the-" The stallion paused for a moment, questioning whether he should tell her who he really is. For all he knows, she could just end up spreading the word and letting the entire country know he's there. Then so much for his break from the fanfare. "Ah buck it." "I'm just visiting. Um, Are you alright?" he queried, looking around he at her back leg, which seemed to be in pain.
  4. @, The tan unicorn magically held the ornament in the air in front of him as he walked to go help them white unicorn up off the ground. With a slight grin, he asked, "It's a bit cold to be laying on the ground hm?" Then without waiting for a response, he added, "Heh, You alright? Here.. here's your ornament thingie..." Once the white mare was helped back to her hooves, he waited for her to answer and retrieve her decorative crystal piece.
  5. @, Bass pondered the response for a moment before asking, "Well, if we can't find anything you've trained to do... why don't we find you something you like to do?!" The stallion asked with quite a bit of enthusiasm for his idea. "I mean, heck, if I just did what I was trained to do, I'd still be in Canterlot handling Neuro patients... but I dropped out of Med school because I hated it." Rolling his eyes to the other side of the room, the pony then added, "My parents sure weren't happy about that, and basically cut me off.... I was on my own to make money, and for a while, I just played my bass in the park for some cash, but I finally saved up enough for my first mixer and got to work learning to make electronic music." He let a release of air out as he finished his monologue, and after a moment of recovering his breath, he asked. "So what'dya say, hm? I'm sure we can find something your cutie little flank likes to do. Other than me of course.." The unicorn grinned slyly at his dirty statement, and waited for a response.
  6. @, Sonny shook his head a bit, "Uh, hm? Yeah.. uh I'm fine. Just hungry I guess." Though his lie rather obvious, he couldn't help but try to roll with it. The two were then waited on, ordered their meals, and while they waited, Sonny spoke up again, "So I... uh don't suppose this is like old times, too huh?" The pony added a slight chuckle to his question and adjusted himself in his seat waiting for a response.
  7. Bass was rather surprised at the whole encounter. In fact, he wasn't quite sure why he was looking at picture frames anyway. The stress of the previous night must have really gotten to him, for him to be there, doing that. Either way, it happened, and there was no changing it. He tried to respond to the mare, but she walked off before he could. The tan unicorn watched her graceful steps as she hurried off to purchase her items. "Wow, she certainly was... something..." The awestruck pony thought to himself. He hadn't seen a mare that stunning in all his time touring Equestria, and now that he had, he completely failed to say anything to her. "Good going, Bass." He thought as he turned to exit the store.
  8. Bass jumped into the hooves of the stallion, tackling him down to the bed, and straddled him. "Well, I was thnking..." he began, placing his hooves on the chest of the stallion underneath him. "We could search around for a place for me to rent for my studio... and..." then the tan pony moved his hooves down the side of the stallion, toward his flanks. "We could get your lazy flank a job." He giggled a bit at his statement, and leaned into the pony, kissing him on the muzzle. "How's that sound?" The DJ whispered into the unicorn's ear.
  9. "Uh actually, it turns our that I was just gonna go get some lunch. I saw this place from my room that looked nice." The pony pointed toward a building down the street that appeared to be some sort of diner, or restaurant... at this point, he didn't know, or care. He just wanted food.... and his tequila bottle. "How's this place look?" Sonny asked, still unsure about the whole situation.
  10. @, Sonny hesitated. He had been trying to cut back on the smoking... "Buck it." "Sure thanks, Neighlie. Just like old times." The Earth pony answered. He took the cigarette in his mouth, and the two ponies headed out of the lobby for their first smoke together in months. Skrill was the first speak when they were outside. "So your tour begins soon, huh?" Before she could respond though, some young colt who looked in his teens trotted up to them. "OH LUNA! YOU'RE SKRILLHOOF AREN'T YOU?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MANEHATTEN?! THIS IS- CAN I GET AN AUTOGRAPH OR NO WAIT A PHOTO?!" The young colt asked, beaming with excitement. Sonny obliged, and let the colt take a picture with him, before the young colt ran off screaming about how he was gonna brag to all his friends about this. With a prideful grin, he turned to Neighlie, whom he was still waiting on a response from.
  11. @, The stallion heard his partner call him from down the hall. He decided that he'd made enough progress for the day anyway, and wasn't gonna get much further without the vocal slices either way. So after a moment of fiddling around with his synthesizer, he shut his equipment off, and realized how much of mess he'd caused... again. "I'm definitely getting a personal studio, whether Kaz says I need to or not." He stood up, and tried his best to clean up magically, though it was a feeble attempt. Once he was relatively satisfied with his job, he turned and headed down the hallway. The unicorn made a rather impresive entrance, jumping into the room while nearly shouting, "And the renowned DJ BASS CLEF, Mares and Gentlecolts!" Then subsequently roaring out for the imaginary crowd, as he turned with a grin to the stallion in the bed. "Did you miss me, hon?" He added playfully as he walked over to the bed to lay next to the stallion.
  12. "Gah. Oh hi, Neighlie. I... didn't expect to see you here." The stallion pulled out of the hug after a moment. "Uh, I just got done there.. The crowds were great. But no, I'm actually up here in Manehatten for a few weeks to work on my new material.. Uhm... I didn't expect to see you... here... at least not on my first day in the city." the concerned pony said, not really aware of his tone, which may have at times slipped a bit. "Where are you off to now?" he queried, adjusting his black frames with a hoof.
  13. @, Sonny worked for a while before he realized he hadn't had lunch, and was pretty hungry. He tossed the half empty tequila bottle to the bed, and looked back out the window, looking to see if there were any restaraunts he could eat at. Upon spotting a decent looking cafe, he headed out his room's door, and down to the lobby. "Alright, Skrill, let's do this. We need some food, and quick." He said, almost slurring some words, although he wasn't quite to that point yet. Then he turned and noticed a certain mare in the lobby as well. The last mare he intended to see during his stay, was there, on his first day, in the same hotel. "Neighlie?" He asked, rather loudly as he squinted toward the mare to make sure he was seeing straight.
  14. @, When Kaz spoke, Bass broke from his trance and turned as the stallion got up and left the room. "Oh uh, okay." He mumbled as the stallion closed the door to the room. Then he turned back to his equipment. "What was that, Bass? He wanted to spend time with you, and you just... that was horrible. You should go apologize... but this song.." The tan stallion then contemplated what he should do, and in the end, made what was probably the wrong decision. "Everything should be fine. Just finish this piece, and then when Kaz wakes up we can spend the rest of the day together... looking for a studio, and getting him a new job. Yeah that should do."
  15. Sonny had finally finished his most recent tour, and was heading to visit the city he'd heard so much about- Manehatten. He'd planned on playing shows there, but hadn't yet gotten the chance. Surely if he stayed a while, somepony would recognize him, and he'd sign some autographs, take pictures, etc... but oddly, this wasn't his first thought as he entered the city. "Neighlie is staying here before her tour... isn't she? Oh Luna." He stepped out of his carriage, tipped the drivers, and looked up at the imposing skyscraper where he would be staying. The Tan pony had an assistant grab his bags, and he headed up to the room he would be in. Once he had settled down in the room, he opened the window and took sight of the view. What a view it was, the bustling streets below, the huge seascape to one side, the enormous constructs to the other. "Alrighty, Skrill. Let's make this a nice stay, we don't need to think about Neighlie." As he finished his statement, he went to the fridge and cracked open a bottle of tequila. We can go mingle tomorrow, tonight it's just my mixer, this bottle, and me." And then the producer began working on what would surely be his next hit.
  16. Bass immediately regretted admitting what he did, but was glad the unicorn hadn't quite heard him. "Huh? Whisper- uh no? Anyway, um... yeah It's a big range of things that can bring inspiration, heh." The tan unicorn flipped a another switch with a small wave of magic, and a machine started up, his main synth, to be exact. Upon tweaking a few settings to get the proper sound he needed, he began to key out a gentle melody that he had floating around his head, and slowly began to fall back into his routine for standard production... all in front of the laid out stallion behind him. Truthfully, he could've totally forgotten he was being watched if the room wasn't still illuminated by the romantic candles.
  17. Bass froze at the question. Stuttering a bit, he tried to formulate some sort of answer, "Uh- w-well. Sometimes it's just things I enjoy doing, good times I've had... y-you, bad times, memories, just inspiration is all over the place, I suppose." He looked back from his equipment for a second to see if the stallion had heard what he said, then reutrned his gaze to his equipment which he was now starting up.
  18. "Oh, well I don't see it all... um. Oh there's my EQ. Sorry, I'm just not used to the.... neatness is all." Bass said, a tone of sincerety in his voice. "Dammit Bass, you heard his voice. You have the lyrics written already. Ask him to sing them for your track." "Anyway, it shouldn't take long for me to get situated with this... I just hope I can get back into this track..." He added. "You can't ask HIM to sing lyrics that are about HIM! What's wrong with you? What's the point then?"
  19. "As much as I would love to stay like this forever... I really DO need to finish my song.." Bass reluctantly said. Kissing his coltfriend on the cheek, he levitated the glass of wine back down onto the table, still only two drinks out of it. He then stood, and examined the organized equipment on the other side of the room... "Uh.. Where are my EQ routers?" He asked, thoroughly confused by the neatness. "And my synth cables, for that matter...?" He didn't turn to face the stallion, just stood there, in confusion at the equipment.
  20. Bass nuzzled up against the stallion who now lay against him. Without a word, they just lay in the candlelight. Bass may have been quiet, but his mind was racing. "Oh my celestia, that was absolutely beautiful... just oh my... How do- Wha- Oh my Kaz, I know now. My next track. I know." After what seemed like forever, Bass finally broke the silence. He couldn't hold it in any longer. "Kaz.... That was absolutely beautiful. You have such an amazing voice... That song.. I.. just.. I love you." He wrapped his hooves around the unicorn in front of him, and just held him there, tightly. "I wish I could sing like that... my music is nowhere near as meaningful as something straight from the heart like that.... and instrumental tracks don't do justice for that kind of meaning either..." He sat there, thinking to himself, a slight tear welling up in his eye. Of course, Kaz probably would think it of joy rather than of incompetence.
  21. Bass was caught off guard by Kaz's 'thoughts' about the future. "Did he say foal? He's already thinking about that?" Still, he simply shrugged it off for now, and obeyed the stallion's orders. "What is it? Hm?" He queried, a mix of excitement, and suspense filling his entire form.
  22. Bass broke the silence, with a declaration. "Of course, I plan on living with you!" He almost startled himself with his own enthusiasm, but continued, "It's just I will be getting more equipment over time anyway, and... I dunno, it's just I don't know if this room will be big enough... I mean I don't want to take away too much living space with my stuff... Plus, I could use some place with soundproofed walls and recording booths." He hoped his explanation would pass the white stallion's judgement, and that he would agree. Then, to add to his case, he said with a smile, "You and I can go look for open spaces in town tomorrow, if you want."
  23. Bass stuttered a bit, at his equipment being all... organized. Not something he was used to, and would likely end up being a wasted effort on Kaz's hoof, as it would likely end up trashed again, when Bass gets back to work, but the Tan stallion held back from saying that, and simply said, "Wow, Kaz, you didn't have to do that... Thanks though, babe. I'll just get it all out of here sometime soon, you really shouldn't have my stuff cluttering up here." He added a smile, albeit a weak one, and took another sip of the wine.
  24. Bass couldn't hold back a small chuckle at what the stallion called him. Regaining his composure, he turned to the unicorn. "No this isn't to my fame, this is to us." The tan stallion corrected, as he magically took hold of the glass, and held it up for the toast, waiting on Kaz to do the same.
