  1. Bass finally recovered from his state of shock, and slowly walked into the candlelit room, magically closing the door behind him. He moved, and sat next to his partner, all of his motions remained slow, and relaxed. Before saying a single word, he just moved and pulled Kaz into a deep kiss. Upon releasing him, he finally spoke, "This is beautiful, babe... You definitely put some thought into this... and it's just... wonderful." Staring into the purple irises across from him, he continued, "I'm not generally those super sappy lovey-dovey ponies... but I can really appreciate this. I love you, babe." When he finished, he planted another kiss on the white stallion.
  2. @, Bass spent a surprisingly high amount of bits on the last bottle of off brand wine the corner stop had. Of course, Bass wouldn't have known the difference anyway, as typically he avoided buying alcohol, and only drank on rare occasions, and in small amounts during gigs. He returned about a half an hour later, and made his way up to the apartment, thinking to himself. "How does Kaz go to the store to get wine, and come back with bags overflowing with... whatever it was he got, and yet, forget the wine... I swear this stallion better make this a habit.." He then chuckled at his last thought, and proceeded up the stairway to the apartment room. When he reached their floor, he noticed an anomaly... Flower petals scattered in the hallway. Completely oblivious to the signal that any other pony would have caught on to, Bass just shrugged it off, and walked up to the room, and opened the door, but when he did, he froze. The tan unicorn took in the sight of all that white stallion, who was currently stretched across the sofa, had done, and was in awe. All he could say was, "Kaz... You.. wha-" A smile then spread across his face, and he began to form words a little better, "What... is.. all this?" He queried, still in quite a bit of shock from the sight.
  3. Bass noticed Kaz's gaze was drifting around his equipment, and he spoke up. "Uh, sure... but I can clean up my stuff real quick here first if you want... You know what? Here, just uh..." The tan stallion stood up, and as an aura overtook his horn, the same hue of dark orange surrounded the music equipment as it floated up into a tangled mess of wire and cable, and moved into a clump tucked into the corner of the room, opening up the space, if not only a little more than it was before. As he did this, the stallion stuttered, "Uh like I said, I'll look into getting a studio, and you can have your living room back..." Once he was finished, he walked up to Kaz, and planting a quick kiss, turned to the door saying, "I'll be right back with the drink, Kazzy." The unicorn then headed out the door with a few bits in his saddle bag, en route to the corner stop.
  4. Bass broke from his daze of a musical stalemate, and turned to face the white stallion who just burst back in. A smile spread across his face, and he asked, "What'd you get? You were gone a pretty long to have just gotten some wine..." Then turning back to his production equipment, he continued, "And heh, yeah I got quite a bit done, but it's still missing some elements, and I just sort of sat here at a loss for an hour or so. Oh and sorry about the room, I get messy when producing... I'll be sure to get my stuff all organized. I may invest in renting a space to just set up a studio in sometime soon..." He almost began rambling on, but caught himself and turned back to the stallion, and finally gave him a chance to respond.
  5. Thank you so much! You don't know how much every bit of support means to me :'D I may end up uploading more tracks to youtube, but I'm not sure I will for 8-Bit Game, as I would like to keep it to full length tracks. :S Unless of course, I go back and extend 8-Bit Game into a full track But yes, once again thanks for the support!
  6. Heyo everypony! I'm back with my newest project. This song/video is the culmination of over 30 hours of work spread throughout the past week. By far the most effort I've ever put into a piece, so I hope it will satisfy. Before I go any further, I'd like to thank Kaz, or "EllieGouldingIsGod" as he is on the forums for his wonderful VA work, and for the intro video's "BassClef" Logo. Everything else you see in the video was done by me throughout the past week, and I'm very happy with how it turned out. I'm going to embed the video, but first I'll paste the description into spoilers for you all to see. And finally Here's the video, so enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frkUbgoqRMM
  7. Bass trotted his way up the stairs and, with luck, he left the door open, otherwise he'd have been locked out... again. He sat back down at his setup, and over the course of an hour he had made substantial progress on his next piece. "Now I need some samples.... Where can I get some vocals?" Bass thought to himself. "Luna knows my voice is no good." He then got up and walked into the bathroom to splash some water on himself. He was oddly feeling quite drowsy after all his work... "I just need a different emotion to put into this. It can't all be 'wub wub boom wub'. Recently my stuff has been getting a lot more melodic, and I actually like it. Ah well, I'll just wait until Kaz gets back, and ask him what he thinks." Upon saying this, the DJ sat back down and stared blankly at the unfinished creation in front of his muzzle. "Hm."
  8. "Sorry.. I wasn't sure what you said. No, if you want to get something for us, that's fine. I just didn't know what you said. As long as it's just for us, at home tonight. You know how worried I got last night." Bass tried his best to sound cheerful, although he was still a bit uneasy. "I need some new vocal samples for my next track. Something loud. from a drunk pony. Just because." "Ah, well, you can go ahead then. I'll be up there working when you get back," The Stallion cracked a weak smile then turned to trot back up to the apartment.
  9. Bass just turned back to his equipment as the stallion left. He began to work on his track again, and was just redialing his synth's wavetable position when he caught what Kaz said. "WAIT WAS HE GOING TO BUY ALCOHOL?" Upon this realization he stood back up and nearly toppled his mixer over. He pulled his shades over his eyes, and darted out the door after the stallion, hoping the unicorn hadn't gotten to far. Luckily, he was only a little bit down the street when Bass caught up to him. "Kaz! What are you doing? Did you say you were getting alcohol?!" Bass questioned, borderline angry and concerned. @,
  10. "Well, I guess. I don't know though Kaz. Who do we tell then?" Bass was honestly confused. He turned to face his equipment again. "Uh, I should probably just get back to work," the stallion said, not knowing what else he could say. "After all, I need to get a lot done on these tracks today..."
  11. "I can do that. They're custom made. Rather pricey, but I wouldn't play a show without em." Bass said, rather absentmindedly speaking, being he was focusing on his equipment. That mindset changed when he processed that Kaz asked about his telling of their status. "Oh, uh... well I thought you wanted me to be open about it..." The DJ turned to face the white unicorn. "and I told you, I don't give a buck about my manager... for the most part he hasn't done anything good other than tedious scheduling work. I can find somepony else to do that for me." His face soured a bit, and he frowned. In a little weaker tone, he asked, "Did you not want me to?"
  12. "Kaz, calm down. He wasn't a fan. He just said he heard I was a great musician and wanted jam sometime. How he found out I was here, I dunno. but you need to just calm down." Bass walked over and put a hoof on Kaz's shoulder. "Just calm down, everything will be fine." Then after a reassuring smile, he hit him on the shoulder lightly and said, "That's for wearing my shades." He added a laugh, and magically retrieved his shades from the purple maned stallion. "If you want, I can get you a pair, but they'd need to be..... more your color." He said, trotting over to his equipment to begin working.
  13. @, Well just keep your eyes on this forum, as it will be posted here when it's done. :3 Anyhow, if all goes well, it should be released sometime tomorrow. That is, if my computer doesn't die trying to render the video. x:
  14. Bass looked confused still. "Uh, well actually, that depends on what.." He frooze for a moment, but remembered what he promised last night. Continuing, he said, "my coltfriend says... This is HIS apartment after all. Personally, though, I would love to chat with another musician." Bass turned to the white stallion still in the doorway to the mainroom, and added a gentle smile, and awaited some answer. @,
  15. Thank you. And the vocals... eh I just didn't know what to do for that. Which is why it sounds so rushed. But thanks again for the compliment! About vocals, refer to above response. But I'm glad you liked the rest of it! And to both of you, I hope you'll like my next track that should be coming out soon ;D
  16. Bass was going to react to Kaz wearing his shades, but decided against it, and instead stood there, quiet. He then whispered to Kaz, "Don't worry, I'll take this payment off your hoof. After all, my pay was pretty good last night, and should at least be enough took take care of one payment yeah?" Without letting Kaz respond, he walked over to the door to answer it, and potentially ward off a certain landlord with a nice juicy check, and found a yellow and black pony standing there at his door. "Here, here's a check that should cover the- wait, you're not Kaz's landlord, are you?" The now confused tan unicorn asked. @,
  17. "Oh, I, uh guess you're right. That's probably a cool plan though." Bass responded, a bit put away by the statement of how little they know each other. "Alright, well I'm ready to go start my day then. Like I said, I've got a few plans for this project...." The musician trailed off as he approached his setup in the corner of the apartment. "Hey wait, where are my shades? Seriously, I need them. This is the second time I've lost them here, jeez." The whole time, he was scrambling around through his equipment searching for the signature shades.
  18. Bass laughed wholeheartedly at the unicorn's performance. "Like that white stallion whose apartment I'm in, only wetter," he teased. With a smile, he levitated the now empty tray up off the bed and moved to go wash his dishes. Talking as he walked, he mentioned his plan for the tracks. "I got a great idea for the sub-bass in this new track. I got some sweet new synth sounds I've been working on and everything. I'm really excited to see what I can do with them..." he rambled on, mentioning a mess of musical jargon as he cleaned his dishware in the apartment's kitchen. Once he finished he walked back to the bathroom, to freshen himself up. "What's your plan for later today? I'll probably put a few hours into these tracks now, but I'm not sure what to do afterward," he said, rustling his mane around, until he was satisfied with it's signature unkempt-ness.
  19. Bass sniffled, and cracked a small hopeful smile looking back up to the stallion. "It's okay. I forgive you, It's the past for a reason. We just have a future to worry about, now. Not the past. Let's see all the good times we can share together, babe." his smiled widened a bit, and he was finally able to release the stallion, but not before he returned a kiss, and an "I love you, too."
  20. Bass clung to the stallion, sobbing. He barely managed to speak, "That's... why I got so upset last night." he stated, though there was no need, as Kaz had already put two and two together. He just continued to lean on the white unicorn for Luna knows how long, completely engrossed in his sobbing. After some time though, he managed to at least come back to a somewhat normal emotional state, and all he said was, "Thank you." without specifying what for.
  21. Bass sighed. "Well, I dunno..." Looking around, he realized he was safe to talk, with Kaz the only one who would hear him. He looked the stallion deep in the eyes, and felt an honest trust with him. "Well, alright. It was more than just 'me breaking it off to chase my career', though. We were both to blame for the problems between us. The whole 'career' thing was just what the magazines print because it's all they could, legally... the deeper side was worse. She had a drinking problem, and I almost got pulled into the drug scene because of the stress she caused me. Albeit, my career may have had a minor role in our issues, because a lot of nights I would be up, working on mixes, or out playing, when I should have devoted more time to helping her, but things just didn't work out that way... I was arrogant, and I regret it all, I thought I knew what I was doing by ignoring her problem, and she almost.." his eyes began to well up as he recalled such awful memories, from what was only a year ago. He then continued. "She almost drank herself to death one night. The hospital said if I had waited any longer to call, she wouldn't have made it. Of course, this was expensive on both of us, because we had to pay to keep it out of print, but either way... we couldn't see eachother after that. I couldn't see her. She had gone to rehab, and was now back into her career, and I'm now here with my record label, but we just couldn't see eachother again after that night." at that point the tears were running down his face, and there was nothing he could do about it either. He looked down from the stallion listening, and closed his eyes as he tried his best to hold back the pain from the memories.
  22. Bass cringed ever so slightly at the mention of a mare. "Mare? Who th-?" He then figured Kaz meant exactly what he feared. "Oh! Um, mare... Well, I dunno. I haven't been with a mare since I don't even know, so there's really er- no reason to bring her up." Bass said, a airy nervousness radiating from him. "Anyway, I, uh, gotta get started on my new tracks if.. if you don't mind, Kazzy." He repeated the nickname again to try and take the attention away from his stuttering.
  23. "Oh jeez. Well no, but apparently it's frowned upon for reckless colts to hop on stage while the band is on break, and play the super expensive instrument, at the most important gathering in Equestria... yeah. I was just lucky I was a natural. And as a matter of fact I do know her, well, I've talked to her anyway at a few Canterlot parties, if that counts." He then looked around, for something else to add. "In all honesty though, I'm glad I'm out of that place. Way to uptight for me there. Baltimare, on the other hoof, seemingly quite opposite," he said, chuckling at his statement. "Um, I dunno what else to say I guess.. Hm..." He pondered a bit for what else he could tell the excited white stallion.
  24. "Rumors huh? You should really stay away from them gossip magazines." Bass scolded with a laugh. Then he continued, "Well, uh, I guess you probably knew that I was from Canterlot. Um, when I was young, I was always curious about musical stuff, and one year, my parents had finally thought I deserved to go to the Gala with them, but it turned out to be a bit more important of a night for me. That's when I almost got my family banned from the Gala, and got my cutie mark all in one night. Did ya know that my cutie mark actually was from playing the cello?" He joked, although he actually wondered if the stallion knew from some magazine article he may have read or seen.
  25. Bass swallowed another bite, and furrowed his brow, pondering the request for information. "Well, um what exactly do you wanna know? And, for that matter, what do you already know?" Bass asked, curious to see as to what the white unicorn might have read about him. He then continued before getting an answer, "Like you wanna know, about my past, or like just me in general?" He then finished the glass of orange liquid, and a small belch escaped his lips. "Oh excuse me, heh." he mumbled, now waiting for an answer.
