My earbuds just broke, I seem to have rotten luck when it comes to ear buds or headphones...

@DivineSoul1000 Reinforced steel - no, but there are long lasting headphones made. I use MB Quart QP805 HS and have been using them every day for 11 years now. The manufacturer advertised that you can even stand on these headphones without damaging them. While I have not tried that, these headphones survived trough the regular abuse at my hands for 11 years, when other headphones would break in a year or faster. I had to replace the ear pads after 5 or so years though. The cable has very thick jacket and seems to hold up just fine (except that one place where I accidentally touched it with a soldering iron). After 11 years of use, some decorative parts are missing, but other than that the headphones still work great.
Sound quality is also great and the noise isolation (there is no active noise canceling) is also quite good.
@Thuja On those headphones the headband is steel.
The company is now known as "German Maestro"
There are also other high durability headphones, the idea is to look for headphones designed for professional use. They are more expensive (I paid about 90EUR for mine 11 years ago), but hold up quite well, so in the long term I saved money.
I cannot use earbuds because they make my ears itch after a few minutes. When I am outside I use "Koss Porta-Pro" headphones - they also are quire durable and I've been using them for 10 years, but not very frequently (the MB Quart headphones get used every day).
