  1. Here's my point of view of analysis; very little of it is entertainment, mostly opinionated. That's why it's an analysis, because they analyze roughly in mainly their perspective and how they interpret something. Unfortunately, some people take this show a bit too seriously. Would be nice to have some entertaining analyzers.

Exactly why it's important to be a bit tongue-and-cheek about this. It's a kid's show about horses. It's, like, the definition of stuff that you don't take seriously.

  2. It's not going to improve, unless the writers actually watch reviews, which they most likely don't.  On top of that their core demographic is little girls, not males.

They should still focus on making good episodes though, y'know? I didn't like this one, so I made it vocal. I'm a fan of the show, and I feel any fan of the show should have a right to criticize.

And the core demographic matters very little to the staff. The brony community has gotten so large that it's enough to influence the production of episodes. If it wasn't, Slice of Life wouldn't exist.

  3. I remember the first time I watched Double Rainboom. I could stand only 13 minutes of it before ragequitting watching the episode. It really is one of the worst things produced by this fandom.

Also, you missed some in-jokes, like a Companion Cube after Dash damages the library as she leaves and the Back to the Future theme as Twilight is looking at the trail Dash left behind (as two examples.) Oh, and the occasional musical notes from Zelda. I think the stolen Flash puppets are the least of DR's concerns, the entire thing is full of stolen content.

I mentioned the Back to the Future thing. I just didn't make it blatantly obvious.

Also, please enlighten me. What other stuff did this thing steal?

  4. I like your review style. It's very structured and makes all the points stick, and never seems like it's rambling.

With that said, I think that mattress clerk's smile was a coincidence. It's not like they haven't used such a smile in the show before Season 5, and also it was most likely the same "Quills and Sofas" salespony from Season 1.

I don't know, man. I really do feel like it's foreshadowing something. Though, I can see how it could just be a coincidence. Maybe it's just my want for Starlight talking :P

Anyways, I appreciate the compliment. It's not exactly a review style, though, but more just me listing things XD

  5. Humorously enough, this video made me realize something I hadn't before: where did these gemstones come from, and where did the pictures inside them come from?

They certainly don't seem like natural pictures, especially since I highly doubt that someone randomly took a picture of the mane six while they were inside the donut shop.

So perhaps these pictures are just memories that the mane five were somehow able to extract from their minds and encase in gemstones. Question is, how the hell did they do that? Would that actually be something Rarity is capable of doing?

I doubt they were actually there, too. I think it was more of a visual thing for the audience to see. The characters probably can't see it.

  6. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed Point 7 with the glowing equal sign cutie marks. Comparing it to a shock collar or sedative is a good way to put it. In my opinion it is the glowing equal sign marks that is changing the mane 6 rather than simply being without a cutie mark that is changing them because in Twilight's Kingdom when they had no cutie mark they still acted like themselves and even when the cutie marks were switched in "Magical Mystery Cure" they still were themselves no matter how hard they tried to do the others talent. I think the glow on the equal sign cutie marks means that the equal sign is it's own spell.

I also noticed in the scene where they were locked up that Twilight still had enough of her smarts to think up a plan.

Really, whenever the characters got their marks switched, changed, or even flat out had no marks at all, they still maintained their personalities. They just became more incapable of functioning properly.

  7.

    Two PoI's for me.

    • The lack of name for the town. To quote my analysis of the episode:

    • The loudspeakers, particularly the cool, formal approach. This is an authentic brainwashing technique, and it's used by varying governments today (i.e., North Korea) to keep them in check. To perform something that happens in real life so seamlessly in FIM makes Starlight very grounded and real as a villain, making her appear very creepy in the process.

Both of these really do tie into the creepiness of the town. The episode actively made me feel uncomfortable conceptually and through it's use of military-esk undertones.

  8. Unfortunately, this game killed my PS3. Haven't had much motivation to get it fixed, so instead I've been spending heavily on retro gaming (I own a ton of SNES and Genesis games now ;)) .

But yeah, I think this was a great game, and it was worth losing my PS3 over.  Nice review. :)

It's a very well-crafted game, but if you ask me, if seems like it would've been a good PS4 launch game.
