  1. "Hmm, now let's see here. Based on my records there are plenty of different pokemon to be found just in the part of the Everfree Forest around my house, and even more have taken residence at the old palace of the alicorn sisters. The hard part will just be finding them without getting lost." Midnight said to himself as he and Aron walked toward the Everfree Forest. Suddenly he heard Aron's stomach growl from beside him, and Midnight realized that neither Aron nor himself had eaten all day. "You know what, how about we teleport home for a quick snack before going off and training. Sound good to you Aron?" Midnight asked, which Aron responded to with a decisive nod of his head. Midnight then teleported them back home and started preparing a quick meal for Aron and himself.
  2. "Impressive, though I don't think they could have held out for another round at that pace." Midnight said. 'And now I have a good amount of observational data to use to come up with a proper strategy. But now that that's over I suppose it's time for me to head back to the Everfree Forest, Aron and I have some training to do before we challenge any gyms.' Midnight though, casting a glance at his partner who was sitting next to him. "Yeah, I should get going too. Aron and I have some training to do in the Everfree Forest, and possibly catch a few more pokemon while I'm at it." Midnight Sky said before walking to the door with Aron close behind.
  3. Midnight had a feeling this mission was probably not going to be very peaceful, seeing as a few of his 'teammates' appeared to be associated with the royal guard or otherwise proficient in combat, and Poppy Seed's impressive speech did rather well at showing that their objective was really important to the princesses, considering they were mainly just a security detail. Right after the speech, Midnight Sky did a quick check to ensure that all his belongings were present. 'Looks like my armor is all intact, and all my things seem to have made it through as well.' Midnight thought to himself as he finished checking his small stash of supplies he had tucked into small pockets in his armor. Now that this rather talkative unicorn had approached the group, Midnight wondered just what kind of mess he'd gotten into now. 'Funny how I left my home and family to get away from my problems, and yet here in Equestria I now find myself with more problems than before, and helping out with the royal issues of another land had never been on my to-do list when I ran away from my royal position back home! On the bright side, I guess I'll never worry about complaining that my life was uneventful.'
  4. After receiving his pokedex, Midnight followed the Tempest and Tarot out. "I hope you don't mind if I tag along. I don't plan on challenging Mayor Mare yet, but this could be a good chance for me to analyze her fighting style." Midnight said as he caught up to them. 'And then I can go home and train a bit. That is one of the great advantages of living in the Everfree Forest, there is no shortage of pokemon and other critters to battle.' Midnight thought with a glance at Aron, who was walking beside him.
  5. "Well, that was easy. I'm Midnight Sky, but please, you can just call me Midnight." Midnight said as he followed the earth pony and pegasus to the lab, with Aron by his side. When he entered the lab, Midnight was impressed by the amount of research machinery and devices, and barely noticed the griffon and Ghastly that were also there. "Nice lab." Midnight said to himself as he looked around.
  6. By this point Midnight was running through the streets trying to find the lab, when suddenly he bolted around a corner and saw two ponies with a Deino and an Abra of their own standing not far off. He only just barely had time to stop before he would've run into them, and he was glad Aron had managed to hold on. "Um, sorry. Do either of you know the way to Professor Cheerilee's lab?" Midnight asked tentatively, while Aron hopped off his back and walked up to the Deino in curiosity.
  7. Midnight just stuck to the back of the group, not quite comfortable around these ponies who were to be his teammates on this mission. 'I sure hope nopony wonders why I'm wearing such fine armor. Naturally my sister had to insist I wear my old royal armor, granted I don't mind wearing it, but it's hard to remain unnoticed when wearing ornate segmented armor decorated with gold and detailed with obsidian, with my cutie mark emblazoned on the front chest piece. Now if any pony asks, I'll have to explain how I'm not from Equestria and that I was once royalty. And I wonder why Princess Luna wasn't here to greet us like Celestia was, I would think something as urgent as this would require the attention of both princesses.' Midnight thought to himself as Princess Celestia left. As for the strange mechanism, Midnight could only guess that it was going to focus the teleport spell of the two unicorns standing by it so that the whole group could go at one time, but it could just as easily be just for display, Midnight wasn't really too concerned about it.
  8. Midnight finished writing the note just as Aron finished packing. "All right, time to go and see what all this is about. Aron, hold on tight." Midnight said after getting his saddle bags on. Aron of course knew what he was about to do and hopped up onto Midnight's back. Midnight closed his eyes and concentrated. His horn began to glow and then both he and Aron disappeared from their house in a flash. Midnight opened his eyes to see his teleport was successful and now they stood right in the middle of Ponyville. "Now let's see, where was the Professor's lab again?" Midnight muttered as he began wandering around town.
  9. "Finally." Midnight Sky muttered under his breath. He was beyond glad that they were finally on the move, it sure beat standing around arguing. 'Wonderful timing, much longer and our little expedition might've been down a few members, and somehow I don't think killing each other before our mission even begins would be very productive or helpful in any way. except maybe there being less arguing.' Midnight thought as he looked over their little group, wondering how in Equestria they were going to ever operate as a team when they could barely tolerate one another. He took a quick glance at Gloomfury, hoping that that pony won't be too much trouble on this mission before turning his thoughts to the new arrival, this Captain Aegis Dare. Just on first impressions Midnight wasn't all too fond of their pegasus escort, the blatant insult to the group as a whole was enough to irk Midnight. But he also agreed with Captain Aegis, this jumbled group of ponies was hardly a team, and seemed to be as likely to fight each other as any enemies. 'I sure hope this is nothing too serious. Besides the point that that would mean that there is a threat to Equestria, I just don't think our little group here has the cooperative capabilities to handle anything powerful or evil enough to be a threat.' Midnight thought absently.
  10. Midnight was in the middle of reorganizing and cleaning his personal library when he heard the mailmare drop something at his door. Before he could even say anything, Midnight's partner Aron went and opened the door and came back inside the house carrying a letter. "Thanks Aron, now let's see what we got today." Midnight said before taking the letter and reading it. "Well, there is a pleasant surprise. It's from Professor Cheerilee, it looks like we're going to go on a little trip. Why don't you pack my things while I leave a note for my sister. Then we can go see the Professor and find out what exactly she has in mind." Midnight said as he went and grabbed a piece of paper and began writing, and he could hear Aron beginning to pack things into his saddle bag. 'This could be fun, it's been awhile since I've actually done something other than research.'
  11. Hmm, why not. I'll join too if that's alright. Trainer: Midnight Sky(link in sig) Starter Pokemon: the one... the only... Aron!
  12. Midnight was taken aback by Poppy Seed's sudden burst of emotion, after she had spent almost their entire duration together as a group threatening them and berating them. But what really took him by surprise was her description of her life growing up, it sounded far too familiar. Midnight and his little sister had both been belittled by their older siblings growing up, either for not being able to fly like their alicorn and pegasus siblings, or because of their magic by their earth pony sibling. This gave Midnight a bit more respect for Poppy, she was just trying to prove her worth, and he couldn't help but sympathize. But the feeling didn't last long as the other ponies, particularly agent Snowy and the pony Gloomfury, quickly changed the mood to something a bit more aggressive. 'If we keep on like this, nothing will get done and we'll all either die or be too late. I guess I'm the only one here who remembers we came here for a reason other than to argue.' Midnight thought to himself before stepping up to stand closer to the front of the group, but not quite to where agent Snowy stood in the lead position. "Enough! Now I'm sure we could all stand here and argue over who's stronger and who's going to survive, but if I recall correctly we came here to investigate a strange source of magic that Princess Celestia told us about. So how about instead of standing here in the snow arguing like a bunch of fillies and foals, we actually get to the task at hand and investigate this source of magical energy, which I assume Snowy Fields is here to lead us towards or otherwise find so that we can figure out what it is and whether or not it is a threat to Equestria. So everypony just stop bickering so we can get this done and go home where we'll never have to meet each other again." Midnight Sky said in a commanding, almost royal sounding voice, one he hadn't truly used since his days as royalty. When he finished talking Midnight stood his ground awkwardly, hoping he didn't just involve himself in the arguing he was trying to stop.
  13. "Well will certainly be interesting, at the least." Midnight remarked to himself, not meaning to say it out loud. In truth his interest really had been piqued, but more in the way that he wondered just how much Princess Celestia, and Princess Luna, really knew about him. Neither Midnight Sky nor his sister had ever told any pony where they're from, but he supposed it could be possible that the princesses know of his homeland simply because it would be in their interest to keep track of foreign bodies. The idea that some ponies in Equestria might actually know his secret put Midnight Sky on edge, and he moved to the edge of the group so he could stand apart from them. In addition, Midnight was starting to tire of Poppy's whole tough act. 'At least Kinetic is around to add some entertainment. Between kissup Poppy and these more stoic warrior ponies, it would make this the most boring urgent mission ever. So long as I'm not involved in the humor, it'll be a nice relief from serious, more serious, and too serious.' he thought to himself as he waited or somepony to actually explain why they were all dragged to this frozen wasteland on a royal mission for the princess. 'At least my armor was made for all weather, so it has removable wool padding to keep me warm while the others have to wear those fur coats. Granted none of this will do any of us any good if we stay out here in this weather, so I hope Kinetic, Poppy, or this agent Snowy Fields will explain why we're looking for powerful magic in the middle of nowhere surrounded by snow and ice.'
  14. "Thanks, I guess I'll get started." Midnight said quickly before heading over to aisle 4, not wanting to get stuck in conversation with so many ponies. 'Gee, I wonder what could have possibly encouraged them to hide the death spells.' Midnight Sky thought sarcastically as he began levitating down random summoning spell books and reading. 'By the looks of some of these spells, I might be able to do most of these. I'll have to find a way to get in here again after this mission is over, there is now way I could read all of these in time, and there's no way I'm going to practice these without ample space and with other ponies nearby that could interrupt me. At least for the time being I have a good excuse not to talk to anypony.'
  15. Midnight Sky had been deep in thought ever since he had been summoned for a special mission by the princesses. He was curious as to why Princess Luna had not been present to meet them like Celestia had been, and he wondered about what this mission was exactly. Midnight had already figured it was probably not going to be peaceful, seeing as a few of his 'teammates' appeared to be associated with the royal guard or otherwise proficient in combat, and Poppy Seed's impressive speech did rather well at showing that whatever their objective was, it was really important to the princesses. Right after the speech, Midnight Sky did a quick check to ensure that all his belongings were present. 'Looks like my armor is all intact, I would hope so after my sister insisted that I wear it. Although I feel like I stand out a bit, it's hard to seem subtle wearing ornate segmented armor decorated with gold and obsidian. Now if anypony asks I'll have to explain that I'm not even from Equestria and that I was once royalty!' Midnight thought to himself as he finished checking his small stash of supplies he had tucked into small pockets in his armor. Now that this rather talkative unicorn had approached the group, Midnight wondered just what kind of mess he'd gotten into now.
  16. Midnight Sky jumped in surprise when he heard a new voice suddenly pop up. "Good, looks like hitting that door didn't have any permanent damage. Well, my name is Midnight Sky and I was also called here by Princess Luna. As far as why she's called us here is beyond me, and yes he is the alicorn we're supposed to meet, but I'll let him introduce himself." Midnight said cautiously.
  17. "Wow, and I thought my past was troubled, but next to that my history just looks like I was just throwing a fit. And when you say make myself at home, does that mean I can read some of this wonderful collection of books? Because if so, I would be glad to." Midnight said, awestruck to be in the presence of so many magic books. 'Forget after the mission, I could start now! So long as it's fine for me to read these, then the others can take all the time they want to show up, it'll just give me more time to read! Though I'm not sure how comfortable I'll be with this pony, attempted assassination of a princess is some serious stuff. Especially when the target was Celestia, who seems to be loved by everypony. I'll have to look into this some time, even when I leave the royal life I still seem to get involved in politics.'
  18. "Oh, well sorry I guess. Being banished can't be a very pleasant experience." Midnight said before following the red alicorn into the building he assumed was the archives. 'I sure hope some other ponies arrive soon, otherwise this will be one long mission. Although I must admit, I do wish there was time for me to look around a bit. The Canterlot archives would be the perfect place for me to learn all I'll need to know about Equestria, and maybe even some spells! Maybe after this mission I can try to get access again and do some research, just like the old days.'
  19. "Oh, so Princess Luna was once Nightmare Moon? Sorry about my ignorance, I'm not really from Equestria and spend most of my time in the Everfree Forest, so I'm not very well versed in local lore. Whatever is going on then must certainly be important, so I sure hope more ponies arrive." Midnight said, embarrassed that he hadn't realized the connection sooner, even if he hadn't spent much time reading Equestrian history and legends. 'Great, now I look like a fool. And I told another pony that I'm not from Equestria, I really need to learn on keeping my own secrets secret.'
  20. Could you perhaps also draw my OC Midnight Sky? Everything you would need for reference is in the link in my sig, please and thanks.
  21. "Right, I guess I'll keep that with me then." Midnight said as he levitated the medallion into his bag. "And maybe you could teach me that illusion spell of yours some time, and maybe tell me more about this "Nightmare" who helped you make it and how you coat lets you blend in like you did. But back to the current task, I assume you know why Princess Luna called me here, because I honestly am not even sure how she knew I existed at all." asked Midnight Sky, his shyness gone after the conversation about magic. Midnight also wondered if maybe the princess had called for others to come, surely if this mission was as urgent as it seemed to be, then it would take more than the assistance of a unicorn who has barely even been in Equestria for longer than a year.
  22. To be honest it's not the idea I have problems with, it's the fact that Pokemon is using the idea that bugs me a bit. Largely because as you said, it's pretty what Digimon did, and it's not really necessary in Pokemon. But overall I don't really mind, it'll just depend on how Pokemon uses it.
  23. "Yes, I have the letter right here." Midnight said awkwardly while using his magic to levitate the letter out from his saddle bags that his sister had insisted he bring. He was also feeling very self-conscious looking down at the alicorn, the only other alicorns he had ever met in person were his mother and eldest two siblings, who were all quite taller than he was. "As for my age, I'm honestly not entirely sure. There was a rather difficult time in my life where I didn't keep track of time, but I think I might be about 23. What I want to know is, where did you learn those spell! I've never seen any pony use an invisibility spell or an illusion spell! Or did you create those spells, I bet that would've been an interesting experience just like it was when I invented my own spell!" Midnight asked excitedly, forgetting his shyness for a moment.
  24. I got a solid 32 points, which is actually pretty accurate, even though almost all the answers for the dream question would have worked for me. It wasn't entirely accurate, but it sure was close.
  25. Midnight hadn't even moved before he saw the red alicorn reappear right where it had been. 'Well, I guess it wasn't an illusion, I really did see the red alicorn there. Which means it must know some sort of invisibility or camoflage spell, because that certainly wasn't any form of teleportation I know of. Or maybe it's disappearing was just an illusion, but I doubt that. I suppose I should greet him, don't want to seem rude.' "Um, hi there. I was told to meet a red alicorn around here, would you perhaps be the one I'm supposed to be meeting?" Midnight called up to the red alicorn, though he couldn't help but notice that while he spoke the alicorn had barely moved a single muscle.
